OZ has a ridiculous contract agreement to join their gym, you are better off supporting a local gym who will waive bogus enrollment fees. They tell you that the enrollment fees are high because of set-up costs, total crap. I have been to two gyms in the area that were both willing to waive fees.

24 Hour Fitness is a large gym located the middle of the Medford Center and is very spacious. Working out at 24 hour was usually a comfortable and energizing experience. Offered there are wide varieties of exercise equipment and personal instructors who are very adept at what they teach. The price was above what I would like to pay for a workout, but if one is serious about their exercise than it's definitely worth the money. A disturbance is the that a large portion of the gym is walled by glass - the Medford Center is usually largely populated by movie-goers and because of that it's difficult to feel at ease when first visiting this gym. Overall 24 Hour is a wonderful location to pursue fitness and health that is greatly enhanced by it's down-to-business attitude and the dedicated responses of its members.

PROS: Knowledgeable trainers, plenty of equipment, open 24 hours
CONS: Little privacy, expensive

24 Hour Fitness is a huge center, filled with all kinds of work-out machines. They have employees there to help you and work with you on creating a fitness plan. They also offer many different workout classes, most of which are free. There are however, a few problems. First off, most of the fitness center has a section of the wall as glass which is right next to the movie theater, so, I often felt embarressed working on a machine and straight ahead of me was a see-through window with people watching me. Another problem is the cost. Personal Trainers cost money, some classes cost money, and membership is quite a lot to. But, overall, this is a great fitness center and easily the best in the Rogue Valley.

PROS: Many different machines, Many options, Free Classes, Expansive
CONS: Expensive, Glass Wall

24 Hour Fitness is a huge place inside! It is large and spacious, not cramped at all. They have every kind of exercise equipment you could want. There is aerobic equipment, free weights, a swimming pool, sauna, whirl pool, steam room, and exercise classes of all kinds, like step aerobics, Tai Chi, Dance, etc. This location is under local ownership of the franchise. The facility is extremely clean and neat! The staff is friendly and helpful, though they are interested in selling you their own products, such as protein powders, vitamins, power bars, clothing, etc. The membership prices are competitive; the best way, though, is to wait for them to advertise a "special". Regular memberships include everything I have mentioned; the personal trainer is extra. They are open as their name implies: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is convenient for the working person. They only close Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Year's Day. Located in the Medford Center, there is a lot of parking. One of the better in the valley!
