The best part may be the combination of fresh baked treats and rotating beers on tap. Oakshire's Line Dry Rye and a Mushroom and Herb Cream Cheese Croissant, which the staff will warm in their giant ovens if you ask, make the perfect summer snack to enjoy in the large garden-courtyard. There are many veggie and some vegan options too, like the Garden Vegetable Sandwich: Their own whole wheat bread, hummus, carrots, lettuce, tomato, onions, and avocado. Plus most of the produce is local and organic, the coffee is local and fair trade, and the character is as local and unique as it gets.
They have a new website too, with calendar and specials, at www.newdaybakery.net

We appreciate what you do for our community so much. Every time we come together at the light time, there is a sense of timelessness and instant joy. How harmonious your workers flow together!
How helpful your waiters are every morning!
How tasty and delightful your breakfast is!
We travelers wrote a song last time we came through Eugene:
"Esta es una vida campestre
Esta noche en la patria con nuestro amigos
nosotros cantamos para las hierbas
y tambien por la dia del juego de los colores"
The chorus is simply dedicated to a local farming sister, la hermana de mi amigo se llama Paula
"Un cobija para mi amore"
New Day we love your scones, we love your coffee, and we love your wakasabi....but please make an effort to work with organic produce. I know you can do it!!!

At once a restaurant, cafe, coffee shop, bakery and music venue, with the potential for much more, the New Day Bakery/World Cafe is a great place for all occasions. While you should expect to wait a while for your food, it's pleasant enough to do so sitting under the huge old oak in the courtyard drinking reasonably priced local brews. Good prelude to a night at the next-door Sam Bonds too.

Come in before 2:00 to see them hefting crispy browned loaves of soft sourdough and whole wheat sandwich loaves, or crusty potato Rosemary or fluffy cinnamon raisin challah, straight out of the ovens onto the racks for you to buy. At $300/loaf this is surely the best deal in town.

The best oat scones I've ever had. I've introduced several friends and colleagues to their scones and all have been converted.
And, not only are these the best scones ever, the owners of the bakery are probably the nicest people around. I love supporting this bakery.

It is no longer trendy to bring a dozen doughnuts to the office, it is now hip to bring a box of goodies from New Day Bakery. They have a large selection and the pasteries are ample enought to split with a co-worker. I beleive they use organic products to produce thier baked goods.
