When we read the review in the AAA travel guide about the Pirate's Cove, we pictured that it would be the kind of restaurant that would have a fishnet on the wall with some fake sea animals in it, and other coastal decorations. Were we wrong! This restaurant projects an upper-class image and includes an upper-class price. When we first arrived, we were treated to at least a half-hour wait on their list. It wasn't worth the wait in the end, and we found ourselves shocked by their meal prices. While the AAA guide reads that dinners are between $14 and $31 per plate, expect more like $17 to $31 per plate. Most meals were in the $20 and over range. We decided to stick it out since we had just gotten to the coast, and we were on our honeymoon. Unfortunately, my wife didn't like their oysters all that much, which were abnormally filled with sand. I had their clam chowder, which was much more like potato soup with clams in it somewhere. Not especially clammy. Their location is good, looking out on the bay from a hilltop, but we didn't find ourselves satisfied with their food or their prices.

PROS: good location
CONS: high prices for fresh seafood, which is served most places on the coast
