I love their happy hour! It's til 7pm every night which is awesome (and rare), and their prices are great. The hummus is delicious. I don't love their drink menu though, personally. I'd love if they updated it.

The Bonfire is an old standard- good drinks, good food, good company. Not too expensive either. I would recommend it if your looking for a place to have a drink and some food with a friend.

The food here is amazing! You can't find food like this at any other bar in Portland. Get the blackened Salmon with coconut rice!

The staff has always been fun and sincere. I love this bar! Plus - it's right next to the Goodfoot so you can hop over for great food in between dancing like a crazy person.

Pros: Awesome Food

Cons: None!

I don't really come here to hang out, I come here for the food. I believe they serve it up until closing, or close to it. I would die for their po' boys. Seriously delicious. Actually, everything I've eaten here is delicious. The service is good, and I like the atmosphere, it's dark and cozy with a little bit of trashy drunk thrown in.

One of the best food quality late night bars. A bit to frenetic for my taste on the Friday and Saturday, but if you are looking for some hipster 20-somethings out-on-the-town they might be there dressed up and all. No meat market by any means (besides a few pathetic hopefuls). Service is basic, variable, and generally friendly. I had some vegetarian Seattlites in town and brought them there for late night eats and they were extremely happy. I enjoy the Philly Steak sandwich when done right (cheese melted whithin). Really my favorite place despite some long-time-customer gripes.

The bonfire is your typical southeast bar... atmosphere is fine yet sometimes crowded. pool=fun. pinball=fun. food= tasty. the one and most obvious drawback i have heard numerous people comment on is the utter pretentiousness of the bartenders. all it takes for a great little spot like the bonfire is friendly or nonfriendly employees to make or break the place.

Pros: food. friends when they're there

Cons: service. nonfriendliness

.

true, the service can be a bit on the slow side, but the quality of the food and drinks faaaar outweigh the negatives. its the perfect place for a warm summer night. but during the winter, it can get a bit chilly, and smoky. they have a burrito with mango in it - whats not to like about something fun like that?

PROS: the hellfire burrito
CONS: slowish

The drinks are outstanding, the crowd is hip, the bathrooms are amusing, the artwork is a trip...but the french fries, oh the french fries, are the best in P-town. Pepper and salt, crispy and brown...go for a pint, and a shot of booze...order some french fries---you can not lose!

Cons: smoky, can be crowded

I first encountered the Bonfire several months ago. I was drawn there by the great Tuesday night drink specials and stayed for the food and atmosphere. The patrons are your typical East side chic and tend to be friendly. The music that they play makes you keep wanting to run to the bartender to ask who the band is and make a mental note to buy the cd. The food is astounding, from the C.A.B. (chicken, apple, bacon) burger to the habenaro prawns which I strongly suggest eating after your meal so you will be able to taste your dinner. The only complaint I have is that The Bonfire seems to hire their servers for their looks so several of them seem to think that they are getting paid to talk to their freinds and that bringing you a drink or taking your food order is a huge imposition.

PROS: Food, Art, Music, Drink Specials.
CONS: Service

Get Kassapakalypsed! If your night in SE PDX doesn't start here, it will probably end here. Let the Bros. Kassapakis and their cohort tend to your every need. Open 'til 2:30, and the food is delish, so leave those drunken Taco Bell runs behind and upgrade to the Bonfire's delicious gyros, which are kind of like upscale gorditas.

Good atmosphere, friendly, with good drinks. Would be better if they had some live music or DJ's.

I have been here almost 20 times already. There is good, cheap food, and for lack of a better word, nice goth/punk candle-lit 'mood lighting'. You also get well-made drinks, and friendly service. It is consistently good. It's hip without that crappy catatonic 'hipster' service you get in a lot of other SE Portland places.
