The teachers are great but the principals (husband and wife) were so unprofessional! Things were good all year except a couple things one being my daughter & her class going on a field trip with the principal (husband) and they all ended up at a different location then we were told. I only knew because they posted a picture of my daughter and her class at a coffee shop in Fairview instead of the frozen yogurt place they were supposed to go to.When I said that bothered me they said that we signed the permission slip at the beginning of the year so they wouldn't have to tell us.

Then my daughter was injured in PE and got a level 2/3 concussion. Her story and the PE teachers did not match up. When I questioned it they called my daughter a liar and just treated us horribly. I went in to meet with the principal she was so incredibly arrogant and as I tried to explain my side and my daughters doctors thoughts on the incident she literally laughed in my face. When I told her that was inappropriate she laughed even harder. I felt like she was trying to intimidate me. She said I had no right to question her or the school after all she had done for us. But being a principal and doing your job does not in any way put you above questioning. I would not recommend this school because even though the regular teachers are great, the principal and a lot of the staff are related. If there is a problem they will not help you because it will be you against their family. Even if you go in to talk they will treat you like dirt.

Excellent school, program and leadership. The best private school on the Eastside. I can't believe the last reviewer would even mention "free charter schools". Have you ever heard the expression "you get what you pay for?" this is a private school and it does cost $ but isn't your child worth it? The morals and good values resonate through the school. The children are so advanced and the teacher turnover is nil. So many pluses to this school! I highly recommend the Phonics Phactory!

This school is over priced for only being three days a week. Also, the "leadership" consists of the the principal and his wife's family, whether or not they are actually qualified for the role. This tends to make resolving conflict difficult if not impossible, as the family always sticks together regardless of if it is in the best interest of the school. There are too many free charter schools and less expensive private schools for this to be a good educational option.

I have children enrolled at the Phonics Phactory ranging in age from 1st grade to 8th grade. This is our eighth year attending. After seeing both public and private schools in action, our family prefers the private setting. The environment is calm and conducive to learning. The classrooms are not overcrowded so each student gets help as needed. Every teacher we have had (and we have had almost all of them,) has been highly qualified and has gotten to know each of my children as a unique individual and has encouraged them to achieve their best work. I recommend this school to any family who wants a strong academic program for their children.

I think the parents of students at the phonics phactory are the most rude and obnoxious people in the neighborhood. Last night there was a Christmas program and 4 vehicles parked in the apartment lot across the street (I live there) and today there are 2. The gentleman I asked not to park there last night asked me "Where do you expect me to park?" And walked to the school. We've had people actually park blocking the driveway so no one could enter or exit. The land lord has given us permission to tow vehicles and we will do so beginning today. Let's hope the children don't learn by their parents' example. Don W. Assistant Manager

In my opinion the previous reviewer misses the point. The Phoincs Phactory is designed to honor the fact that parents are the primary educators of their child. By spending only three days per week in school and two days in homeschool activities, families get the best of both worlds. My kids are in 4th grade and PreK. They love school and I love being involved in their education. Note: While it is true that some of the teachers are also parents, they are all highly qualified.

Extracurricular activities are good as well. but overall leadership of the school is adequate. I would not recommend this school unless you have adequate time to spend on homework. The teachers are not accredited in some some cases as regular schools are. Parents literally teach classes without formal education. This will leave you and your family spending a lot of time trying to figure out what needs to be done. The school lacks structure and needs more leadership to direct the students. If the school was a five day school the students may receive the class room education regular schools provide. you will put in many more hours with your children making sure they are up to date than in a regular school.

This new facility is impressive. I recently enrolled my child to attend preschool at THE PHONICS PHACTORY after visiting the school we knew that it was just what we are looking for. If you are seeking a wonderful alternative from the Public School system I would strongly encourage you to make an appointment to view this school!

PROS: QUALITY EDUCATION AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE.
CONS:
