I'm only giving it one star because there aren't any lower. I would not go there if I were you, in fact turn and run the other way. I signed up with a 20 day trial and they were so disorganized, never called me back, never answered my email something just told me they were not on the up and up.
After a little more than 10 days I deactivated my account, and low and behold, all of a sudden they emailed me! Only to say they tried to run my credit card and it didn't work. Why the hell were they trying to run my card? I quit before the 20 days were up.
I can see why they have such a bad rating. They are rude and unprofessional and it makes me wonder if they are even a legitimate company.
I don't do business they way they do and would not ever go with them again. Before you sign up, you may want to think twice, first of all they'll throw you a bone to keep you going, like telling you there is a casting call, then at the last minute "whoops, it got cancelled."
Not for me and if you were smart, not for you either.

I signed up with Extras Only and in a matter of a few days they reached out to me for a brief role in ??GRIMM?. It??s the real deal! There website is as clear as it can be, and the notification method they use makes the whole process simple. (Text and Email ?? Available? YES/NO) . My experience on GRIMM was alot of fun. Side note: I was impressed with the work ethics of the production crew, you think you work hard at work, WOW! Thank you EO!! for the opportunity. Good Times!

I signed up for a free trial for 21 days. I agreed to charge my card for the given membership fee. Then later there was a possibility to upgrade for $25. Then there was a charge of $5 for additional photos. I searched the website to verify costs but could not find any information. There is nothing on "My account" page indicating costs incurred. I did find a link to add additional photos but there was no mention of a $5 charge/photo. Later I found reference to a 14 day free trial???What was there once was not there a second or third time. I received no answers to my inquiries or phone messages leaving me no choice but to cancel. I cannot afford to leave an open ended card withdrawal with no accounting of the charges.

25 pages worth of reading and tests = 2 hours. Three outfits to wear to castings = $110. 6 months of a subscription = $150. The end result was a huge waste of money and a disappointed 6th grader, who was so excited to be given an opportunity. Extras Only was a HuGe disappointment for us. I wouldn't recommend it.

After 7-months of steady work (Pending Member) on Leverage TV series I signed up as a "Featured Member" and 3-hours later was pitched a role as a FEATURED "Paramedic" for Leverage TV Series "Low Low Price Job" (S5xE11)...best B'day ever. Now I have networked working with the best talent in Portland, OR. and get random CD's online audition invites from L.A.!

In roughly 6 Months, I have had 4 offers. But I have yet to be cast, plus I "PAID" upfront. My mistake. Since signing up with them, I have been cast in 2 feature length films. The Kill Hole with Billy Zane, and Terrible Angels.

I did the leg work myself. I get a better response sending out my IMDB Resume, than I do letting them work for me.

On another note, when I signed up and PAID. They waited 63 days from the date of payment, to actually charge my bank account.

Sure they have contacts, they're rules are Great. Following them will help you.

So, in conclusion, I paid about $90 to learn on set etiquette.

SIDE NOTE: If you don't want to be an "Extra" your entire career, get an Agent.

One Agent that turned me down when I had no exp said it was because I only had extra work, and No Speaking Roles, or Credits.

If you don't have either one of those, Extra work does not really count on a Resume, unless looking for more Extra work.

If your serious enough about wanting to act then might as well go find yourself an agent... As something to do here and there Extra's Only is an okay company.

The up side is they do get a decent amount of work... The downside is that your just as likely to get work as an unpaid member attending open casting calls as you are being a paid member.

If your new to extra work and looking for someone to hold your hand and walk you thru the process this is not the company for you!

So far I've been with Extras Only 7 months and received N0 work from them. During this same 7 month span I've managed to get myself cast, as a paid extra, 5 times from adds on CL & via referral. Plus you pay for it annually and only with a credit card. I think they just have too many people & not enough staff or not enough work. I'm sure I wont get anything now, but if they want a better review, prove me wrong.

I had some friends sign up a while ago and they seem to get called every week about being in a commercial or movie. So I had to see what it was about. I first signed up when they were working on the movie twilight, so they were pretty busy, but when I talked to a male I think it was Tim or Jim. He seemed pretty helpful considering all the telephone ringing in the background. He told me to check out the website, and if there were other questions he was willing to help. After a month of no calls they called to check my avail for the movie TWILIGHT and a couple of commercials. I didn't get in the movie, but I did get to work on a commercial. The pay was good considering I worked only a total of 30 minutes, sat around for 6 hours. Got to see how they really made commercials. There is fee if you want to be a member on their website. But considering how much these other talent agencies make you pay to be in their website...this is a steal. Do your research. Seems like the more that I marked myself avail for projects the more projects seem to come my way for availability checks. I get contacted at least 1-4 times a month some months more, some none. Can't complain I read their workshop. Go in with open mind and go with the flow attitude like they say on their website. And you cant really complain. Paid off my membership dues after first job + extra.

I think Extras Only hired someone "extra" in the office they might receive a better review with me.
My dealing with them has been they do not have the time nor the patience for simple questions with out making you feel like you are catching them at a bad time and that you are "only an extra".
They seem perpetually understaffed and can be quite rude.
I have found a sizable amount of work with Extras Only but have also had to remind them to pay me even after the 90 day period in which you have to wait. The pay is substandard as well.

The fun of extra work is the oddness of the job. You never know what you will be doing until the very day/hour/minute on the set or location. I have yet to come close or near or even see a celebrity in my years with them.

PROS: Fun once you get the job.
CONS: Not friendly in the least. Takes upwards and over 90 days to get paid.

These guys are legit. It's based out of a small office in the heart of Portland. They employ a few regulars and cast quite a few open casted promotional spots. They cast for commercials, movies, and advertising campagins. Parking is horrible - but that's expected in Portland. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Believe it or not!!! I have always been pretty skeptical of such talent agencies but these guys actually got me a gig doing some promotions work for the Oregon Lottery. Easy, fun, extra money!

A very professional group providing talent for film and print media. After signing you are given a brief intro training in extra work on film. EXTRAS ARE PUT ON A LIST AND ARE CALLED WHEN NEEDED. You can look on their web site to see if there are any currrent projects. You need to let them know what $ you will not work for! FYI-Some jobs you may have to travel to on your own. There are many rules to remember. You may work with some Hollywood stars. For dance auditions, I advise that you bring your own partner .

PROS: You meet interesting people
CONS: may be called to work very early am hours.

Though I have gotten some jobs from them, I mean, 5 or so, they haven't been the most understading nor the most patient people. They tell you in their training description that "if someone is short with you on the phone, that it's not because they are rude, it's just because they are working hard" or whatever. I find that anytime you run a business of this sort, that patients is the main requirement. Otherwise, why are you in the "biz"? If you can handle that, by all means feel free to knock yourself out. They are strict when it comes to their rules. Understandably so. They do state that they will charge you for a cancellation or no show...$50 and $100 respectively. And trust me, they won't listen to any excuses...even though I had a death in the family. Wait...is this a "no tolerence" policy or a "I just don't have time to be understanding" policy? I guess you'll have to decide for yourself when it's time for you to need some tlc.
