The World Forestry Center Museum is a great place for kids of all ages. Lots of interactive things for them to do, and interesting things for them to learn. Zoo and Children's Museum are right there, too, so you can make a day of it!

The World Forestry Center has recently been redone but it still is not one of our favorite "child" places in town. This Center has many exhibits including a giant talking tree, upstairs there are different climate and forest zone displays, and interactive activities for children. They have different travelling exhibits such as "Things Made from Wood" or photographs of different regions of Oregon. Overall, this space feels better for older children or adults. It is on the same grounds as the Children's Museum and the Oregon Zoo, so if your little ones get tired of the Forestry Center, you can explore the rest of what Washington Park has to offer!

Located just up the hill from the Washington Park Zoo, before you even enter the building you can ogle a cross-section of an approximately 500 year-old tree found decades ago floating in a river. Inside you'll find at least as much as you ever wanted to know about the region's forests.

This is a very interesting museum and does provide lots of interactive educational experiences, but I think it is best experienced by children who are at least school age (i.e. 6 and above).

I had been there as a child and remembered the talking tree, but honestly found it more interesting as an adult than I did as a child! My daughter (age 4 1/2) wasn't exactly bored and thought the displays were interesting, but more from a novelty standpoint - I think a lot of the educational aspects were lost on her.

I think if I take her back in about 2 years she will really find it a lot more interesting and actual learn something from the stories it has to tell.

The World Forestry Center is newly remodeled and better than ever! There are a lot of fun exhibits--all educational--about trees, forestry, etc.--kids and adults will have a good time here and learn something, too.

This is a really neat place to visit and take the kids--there is a huge "talking tree" in the main lobby that is quite fascinating and educational, and the displays and films in the museum are informative and fun.
