Many years ago I went to Birthingway's annual "So You Want To Be A Midwife?" conference. They presented a lot of information of what it takes to be a midwife, and how to know if it's really the avenue you want to pursue. I especially enjoyed the panel of midwives that included homebirth midwives and two CNM's who were attending hospital births. One of them actually became my midwife, as I found out I was pregnant shortly after attending the conference. They served yummy vegetarian food also!
