Best skate shop that I have ever been to. I've been going there since I started skateboarding almost seven years ago and have always been treated with respect. Everyone who works there are extremely helpful and knowledgeable, especially Paul. They have a great selection of everything and very reasonable prices too. The store has a good vibe and the people there always are welcoming and inviting even if you're just there to browse. Perfect location too.

They know their stuff and they are also authentic about it, plus informative and nice. I love the art and local support it carries with it as well. If you are just a parent looking for a skateboard for your kid, they will show you how to do the right thing and you will leave feeling like you were kind of cool for a second.

This place has all the skateboarding stuff you could dream of. Many years of selling everything for the skate boarder shows they know what they are doing here! Best customer service ever and they do everything they can for the Portland skateboard community.

The first time I walked into this shop I was blown away by the wall of boards! I've never seen such selection! From old school to new school, local to longboard, they have everything! It's not commercialized or anything, either. The same guy has worked there for like 20 years and is really helpful, Paul. They are really nice and helpful. They will give you free advice, fix things for free, and offer free used parts if you don't have the money. They really work with you and the staff is more knowledgeable about skateboards, skateparks, and the history of skateboards even! It is like my dream skateborad shop.

Pros: Large selection, great staff, knowledgable resources, very friendly, central location.

Cons: Pay to park downtown

Cal Skate Skateboards opened in 1976 in Downtown Portland. We have served the Skateboard Community and the community at large leading the effort to legilize skateboarding and the construction of public skateparks. Many people have been confused by the change of name of another local shop which started as RX Skates changed their name to Cal's Pharmacy in 1994. This shop has no relationship with us and our good name has been ripped. With that said we are now working on building the 2nd public skatepark with funding for 3 more in the next year. When completed Portland will have 19 public skateparks throughout the city thanks to the work of many folks. Take care and checkout our website at www.calsk8

Founded when skateboards first became popular some 30 years ago, this Oregon institution is the preeminent skateboard outlet in the area. Featuring walls of skateboards and skater paraphernalia, it's hard to imagine they don't carry what you have in mind, and at reasonable prices, too. Located downtown for central access.

This is not the place to go for shoes. There is like no selection at all. Only vans or ipath. No thanks. Where's the emerica? and saviers? The people who work there are nice, but there's not a huge selection of trucks and wheels either. and the decks are super expensive too!
