These guys are great! I've been taking my pets to Burlingame for over 5 years now, and I've never had a bad experience. They are professional, friendly, wise, and extremely caring. Can't say enough good things - please give them a try, you

We have been clients of this small clinic for many years and have always been happy with the care our dog and cats have received. We have been down the road of routine care and some pretty serious medical issues, and the thing that stands

I really like Dr Byers - she cares and she is knowledgable, but I just can't afford to visit this vet. I was advised to do a urinalysis - which I wanted to do and was asked to collect the urine at home. Great, I thought, we can avoid

Every time I bring my pet into the clinic everyone is so happy to see him and they act like they think he's as cute as I think he is. I am impressed with the follow up phone calls and the personal care given to my special pet when we visit. Superb doctors!

I'm retired, and I've got a lot of animals. I've also got a lot of opinions about how they should be cared for--what I don't have is a lot of money. Dr. Kellogg, his wife Karen, and Dr. Byers put up with my eccentricities and provide the best care for my pack of critters. We have good conversations, When I had a big bill for work done, we bartered the balance away in exchange for my power-washing graffitti off his back wall. I have a farm background, and Dr. Kellogg indulges my inclination to 'do-it-myself", yet still provides good technical support. I consider them my friends, as well as my Docs.

Pros: We like 'em so much, we want to drop by just to visit!

Cons: It was even better when they lived down the street, too.

This neighborhood vet clinic is truly a gem. From the moment I walk in the door, I am treated as a valued client and as a friend. Staff are kind and remember my pets by name. "Dr. John" (Kellogg) and Dr. Byers have seen our circus of pets, and are both personable and extremely thorough. They remember me, my animals and always make us feel welcome, no matter how busy they are. Dr. Kellogg has done surgery for our dog in the past, and he cared for her as if she were his own dog, the clinic mascot named Curly.

These folks really care about animals as family members, and even though we live closer to several other clinics, we would not dream of moving our pet's care.

Thanks to the Burlingame docs and staff for caring for our "kids" in a professional, comfortable and warm manner. I would trust them to no others.

How nice it was today to sit in the lobby getting yelled at by doctor Kellogg for questioning why he was charging me double what the original quote was! They have treated me badly every time I've been in and charged outrageous prices. On top of the audacity of this man, I arrive home to see that my pets nails are ALL cut too short and ALL BLEEDING!

What? Seriously folks, I don't know what the person who wrote the bad review was thinking when he/she wrote it, but Dr. Byers at Burlingame is wonderful!!! She is kind, compassionate, logical, extremely gentle, and one of the best vets I've ever had the pleasure to visit. Her true passion for the health and happiness of pets is *unparalleled* -- I have an older dog, and Dr. B's ability to treat this little guy with all of the love and care in the world is amazing. I don't write a lot of reviews for CitySearch, but when I saw the bad review, I just had to speak up! Everyone at Burlingame is great -- Dr. Kellogg is who we went to originally (we love him, too!), but we trust everyone there. Need a great vet clinic, where you and your pet will be treated with respect, you'll be given all of the options up front, and you'll be told the truth, every single time? Please visit wonderful Dr. Byers at Burlingame!

Dr. Kellogg & Dr. Byers are the best! Not to mention the staff... Very caring and thorough with my dogs. Talk you through all parts of the examination, provide excellent follow up and just plain love your pets! Hard to find such personal care nowadays...

We have three dogs and three cats and we would never take them anywhere else! We have seen both Dr. Kellogg and Dr. Byers and would highly recommend either. The office and medical staff are also excellent. Everyone is polite, helpful and they really care about your pet. They will always call the day after a procedure to make sure your pet is doing well. I highly, HIGHLY recommend them!

I ended up here originally because it's a stone's throw from my house. How lucky was I to discover Dr. Kellogg and Karen (his wife, who works in the front). They are smart, compassionate people who will go the extra mile to make sure you and your animal companions are comfortable and well-informed. He is also a straight shooter - he won't spend your money for fun and he won't sugar coat. Though not as cheap as, say, Banfield, he is well-priced for the market and I always feel like my pets are getting attentive, intelligent care.

When I brought my puppy in to get neutered, I barraged the girls at the front desk with a million questions. What would the procedure entail? How long until he's fully recovered? Are his toenails too long? It was obvious that I was a first time "dog mom". The front desk staff answered all of my questions (both on-phone and in-person) with knowledgeable and concise answers. They genuinely seemed to care about his quality of care and my comfort. Also, they accommodated my erratic school/work schedule, and allowed me to have peace of mind while I was apart from him all day (and knowing that he had been under the knife). When I picked up my dog, he was in the state they told me he'd be in: Groggy, gooey eyed, and tired. However, before I could take him out the door, my pup made sure to say goodbye to the girls via LOTS of doggy kisses (obviously, this shows their compassion towards him in my absence). I've just recently looked at my receipt, and noticed that under description and price, something listed is: "Tender Love and Care: $0". You can say that again!!!

Pros: Quality of personalized care, Level of compassion & understanding, Overall Value

Cons: Parking is limited (but it doesn't seem like a problem due to proper scheduling)

.

I don't know why a couple people seem to think Dr. Kellogg is rude. I can assure you he is not, he, and his staff are great, knowledgeable, and friendly.

I've been taking my two dogs to him for almost 10 years now, and they're wonderful. Both Byers and Kellogg take the time to listen to your worries, explain and evaluate the situation, and they're both very understanding. They're some of the greatest vets in town who have your pets(family) best interest at heart.

I've taken my cats in to see both Dr. Byers and Dr. Kellogg and found them to be very helpful, giving me great advice and options for care. Staff is friendly, they try to accommodate their clients, and seem to really like my "guys". Overall a good experience in veterinary care.

Dr. Kellogg's office is clean and friendly. They were sensitive to my apprehension of leaving my dog for a procedure. Dr. Kellogg and staff listened to my concerns and Dr. Kellogg himself answered questions, even when we called to discuss recent bloodwork. Costs seem comparable to other vets we have been to (we have lived many places). The only issue I have (if you can call it that) is the parking, but it would never stop me from going.

Dr. John and his staff treat us like family, never make us feel rushed, always answer our questions thoroughly, and treat our dog with incredible dignity and compassion. Puddles still hates going, I mean, she's a dog, he's a vet, c'mon - but we have the peace of mind that she's getting excellent medical care, and we know we can count on getting excellent service and value for our dollar . . . not to mention, we get to see Curly the wonder-pup, Puddles' boyfriend;o)

My best vet experience EVER has been at Burlingame Vet Clinic with Doctor Kellogg - not only is he (and his whole staff) so very caring and attentive to our little beagle, but I also ADORE Doctor Kellogg's kind attitude towards my young children (7 and 4) who always have questions and stories to share with him. He's never too busy to listen to them and never talks down to them, or me for that matter!

I've brought in a number of pets (including rescued strays) to this clinic since it opened, and have been impressed with the professional and compassionate treatment received by all. Dr. Kellogg seems young, but is a gifted healer with a great heart as well as "horse sense." I have been amazed more than once at the quick turnaround from examination to diagnosis, options and costs of treatment. I have learned a lot of insider tips about pet care from everyone at this clinic. I feel very lucky the Burlingame Pet Clinic is in my neighborhood!

New to the neighborhood & looking for a vet for our two kitties, we came upon Burlingame. Without an appointment my husband & I showed up to ask a few questions. How excited we were to find such a friendly face at the front desk. Very knowledgable regarding Dr. Kellogg's past and without us even asking she jumped up and offered us a tour of the clinic. Explaining about everything not hiding anything, we were amazed! This is truly an awesome clinic and can't wait to let our Lily & Bo meet them. Thank you for being so kind, warm and welcoming!

I have a 1.5 year old Golden Retriever and for the first year I was at Banfield. Not being happy with Banfield, I switched to Dr. Kellogg after reading his CitySearch reviews. I was definitely not disappointed. Dr. Kellogg has that "old school vet" attitude and is very friendly. He's very personable and knowledgeable. I highly recommend him to every pet owner I know.

I just moved here from Los Angeles and have a 9 week old black lab puppy. Not knowing anyone, I found Dr. Kellog on City Search. The reviews couldn't be more fair. I felt very comfortable and my dog Benny was happy. The Dr. is very calm, obviously compassionate, knowledgeable and very down-to-earth. I enjoyed talking with him and will bring my dog back again.

Dr. Kellogg and his staff are friendly, knowledgeable and -- most important -- compassionate. When we first moved from San Francisco, our 14-year-old dog became increasingly lame and unable to walk. Dr. Kellogg outlined clear steps for her treatment. When it was clear she would not recover, he and his staff were empathetic and caring to the very end. He is a knowledgeable vet, a terrific communicator, and a warm person. We (and our three other dogs) are grateful to have found him.

Dr Kellogg is a great all around vet for our dogs. He is very open and up front about a diagnosis. He diagnosed our Dalmation with kidney failure shortly after we moved from Arizona. Our vet in AZ confirmed all of his diagnoses and treatment options, which really helped build trust since our whole family had gone to our vet in AZ for 10 years. Dr. Kellogg was open to every option that we wanted to take with Abbey and when it came time to say good bye, he and his staff really proved how much they care.

I have worked for vets over the years and I can truly say that there are some out there that are really terrible. Dr. Kellogg is great and his staff is the tops!

I find this small vet perfect for my dogs needs. John is very knowledgeable and more than willing to spend time with you explaining options for your animal - we have a lab puppy.
I enjoy talking to him and his staff and more importnaly my dog loves them too.
She didn't even make a noise when she got 2 shots and a microchip in her (although her eyes got big!) - but she was eating a treat and giving kisses in no time.
I would highly recommend this vet to my friends in the area.
03/2007 John and his staff continue to proivide excellent care to my 2 year sold lab. One of the worst parts of moving our of Oregon is leaving such a great vet behind. Of course I called to ask for records and they gave me the heads up on the certificate I'll need to fly with her and offer sedatives if she's high strung (she will be!). Thank you from LaRoux even if she does hate getting her glands depressed....I would too.
