In ShortFounded in 1901 in Chicago by Charles R. Walgreen Sr., this neighborhood pharmacy has grown to be one of the nation's largest drugstore chains. Each store carries 25,000 different items--from cleaning products to electronics and greeting cards. As a mini mart, Walgreens is totally overpriced. As a pharmacy, they're great. I switched my business there when the Fred Meyer pharmacist got nasty and it has been a pleasure ever since. They know my name, know which drugs are coming due for renewal and answer all my questions. Best of all, open 24/7 so there's never a rush hour problem, I just go when it's convenient.
