Just back from the restaurant. First thing I am going to do tomorrow morning is try to find out the owner's contact information and tell him about my experience. To begin with as we entered we were told to be quick (with no welcome whatsoever) because they are getting ready to close. Then I think their food got my child sick or something, he threw up all of his chicken sa-tay and the ice-tea. Instead of showing any concern for the child's health or even human courtsey, he threw napkins at us and asked us to clean it up while my wife was trying to calm the kid down and was willing to clean it up anyways. And when my uncle who was with us objected to that more because of the manner he asked us to clean it than anything, the employee said it is not his job and that we do not know the culture here and that this is America. Our skin is brown you see. For his information we are probably more american and may be even legal than some of the staff he may have hired over the years. And when the argument got heated up, he said get out of here and to never come back. I am not sure if I am going back anyways. Can someone give me legal advice for his racist behavior. I have faced such situation but when I was in college and mostly from drunk young kids which I was happy to ignore. But this happening in a Customer Service Business and to my family and friends - I cannot ignore it. I am not sure who that guy was - just an employee or owner, but I am looking at taking some action against him. I think marking it as just unsatisfactory (one star) willl be over-rating it, but becasue this site wants us to rate it atleast that I had to do it.

I have been attending this restaurant since I first tried it, and I have been simply amazed at the food quality. Their Pad Woon Sen is just fabulous, and if a person is not too wild about spicy foods that is a good choice.

I myself like spicy food, therefore, I go for the spicier stuff. They will also customize your dishes for you as you ask. One of my very favorites there is the drunken noodle stir fried. Just a very delicious hearty dish, and also the "Spicy Thai Noodle" soup style is a terrific spicy stew like dish to eat any time but especially on a cold day.

The service that I've had there has been exemplary, very quick, and they get what I want. Take out has been good too. I really like Thai food, and have tried several around the area, and I like the food best at this one.
I've also had worse service too in some or the others, but I shan't dwell on that.

This restaurant was an unexpected treat. The restaurant's interior was attractive and added much to our meal. The soups were as spicy as they were tasty, The Pad Thai was superb and the spinach-broccoli-chicken dish with peanut sauce was a satisfying meal. Best of all was the tea. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Canada from California. The servings were extra generous. We look forward to stopping here again, next year.

The food is decent at Thai Beer, but it definitely doesn't make up for the horrible service! I asked for an extra plate for my 3-year-old, which the waitress was extremely rude about and I was charged for it. Ridiculous! I had to get my own extra fork and napkins. They basically brought me the bill with my entree. Never came back to check on us later in the meal. I read the negative reviews online before I visited and I completely agree with every one of them. The service sucks!

I was surprised to read about bad service in some of the reviews, I've always found their service to be good. The food is also very good, and I order it hot and it burns real good. My favorite dish there is the Pad Kee Mao and it is the best I've had. The rest of the family does not do hot, and they have found their favorites too. Thai Beer is one of our favorite Restaurants in Salem.

The food here is horrible, as is the service. I ate one bite of my meal and was not able to eat more due to the overwhelming fish flavor (in a vegetarian dish). I specifically noted to the waiter my allergy to fish and fish sauce, but apparently he did not convey that to the kitchen. I was not offered another meal or comped for the uneaten one I was given as my waiter never returned to the table after placing the food down. Don't bother with this restaurant, if you are in the area, go to Sushi Kyo instead or drive downtown and eat at the Thai restaurants there.

The food is pretty decent, I've had hit and miss meals there. The service is consistently terrible. Last time I went my daughter knocked over her ice water, the server gave us a dirty look and just left the mess on our table.

This is one of the better Thai restaurant's in Salem, unfortunately we don't have that many options. Having said that, everytime I go here either for sit down or take out, the service it HORRIBLE. The food is never on time when ordering take out, and the staff is usually boarderline rude with inconsistant service.

If you want the best tasting and best quality of generous sized Thai proportions, you have got to visit Thai Beer. Learned of this restaurant from my boyfriend, he loves this place, his family loves it. We have visited here twice and definitely plan to visit whenever we are in the mood for spicy food in Salem. Their food is full of flavor, full of juicyness. One of the dishes we always have to get is a rice dish served in a half cut open pineapple, may be number 82 or 83.

Atmostphere is very nice, very clean restaurant.

The service has always been quick and nice!

Usually the people who complain about the service there are too impolite to begin with, take forever to decide their menu or haul their bratty little filthy children in to leave mess and disturb all other diners

Anyone who lives in the area or visit Salem really must dine here!

Thai Beer restaurant is one of the better thai places to eat in the Salem area. Their food is prepared perfectly and you can ask for mild, medium, or hot. They have a barbeque chicken that is especially good but don't think it is like American barbeque. Their satay chicken is also especially yummy. This is located in the shopko parking lot and is worth trying out.
