Nasty, disgusting, horrible, gross, bland! 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

How can anyone give this place more than 1 star, or even 1 star at all? I tried it a year ago and was not impressed. It was bland, boring and I didn't even eat half. I went again today because I heard they changed the menu. Yeah, it was still HORRIBLE. They say their chicken is made with all these spices, yet to me it tasted like it was boiled and shredded...without ANY spices, or even salt. It tasted like nothing. And it took them over 20 minutes to even make it! Were they out back slaughtering chickens or what? Disgusting...I threw it out and went and ate somewhere else. I would rather eat Taco Bell any day of the week. There just doesn't seem to be very many truly authentic Mexican food in Oregon. I liked El Palmero on 3rd and Alder, but I saw they changed ownership and now I am worried it wont be as good! Anyway, I wouldn't eat Baja if I was homeless and starving and it was free. DISGUSTING!

Pros: gross, gross, gross
Cons: NONE

Mas! Mas! 5 Star Rating - World class

Mark and crew at Baja Grill have catered for us for large corporate events (150 people) and the compliments from employees and clients have always been outstanding. And their booth at the Bravo shows is usually packed with people saying "ooh", "mmm good" and "aah, yummy!" The setup, the serving and the FOOD have always been the best and we hope to hire them again in the future. (When, oh when, can we have another party?!) And don't forget to get their traveling Margarita Bar!!

Join their birthday club! 5 Star Rating - World class

Whatever you want on your b-day is free. For mine they made me an Ahi Tuna Bowl that wasn't even on the menu! It was AWESOME!

Pros: It's fast, it's casual and it's CHEAP.
Cons: Not much space for hanging out while you're waiting for your food

Way fresh fish, good salsa, nice for quick meetings and lunch. 5 Star Rating - World class

I like the Grill a lot more than places like Chipotle or even some mom and pop places farther out of downtown if I am going to go to lunch with a colleague or have a no-frills meeting with a prospect. The fish e.g. in the tacos, is far fresher and better seasoned than you'd expect, the fried Cod tacos especially are off the map for comparable places. The place is not all squeaky and trash filled like some of the cafeteria style places that are branded the same and you can have a mellow lunch there and talk.

Pros: Fresh fish, salsas
Cons: Parking

Still tasty after all these years! 3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

I used to be a regular at Baja Grill about seven years ago, when I worked just around the corner and got my weekly fix of fish tacos and their delicious cilantro lime pesto rice.

After years of working on in the 'burbs, I'm now downtown again and was happy to discover my beloved Baja Grill still in business, and still delicious! Right now I'm savoring their "#1" combo with black beans, cilantro lime pesto rice, and a grilled fish taco topped with two varieties of their freshly made salsa.

Mmmm - it's healthy, tasty, and filling, and just $5.45. Highly recommended as an alternative to Chipotle.
