I don't know where to start. I have been a customer at Harlequin Beads since its beginning in 1984. It goes without saying that they have a huge supply of beads and findings to make anything you can possibly think of. But, that is not the only reason I love this store. It is the owner, Stacy, and her wonderful employees that bring me back time and time again. I am always greeted when I arrive at the store and am always asked if I can be helped almost immediately. Even when they are busy (which is quite frequent) I always know that someone will help me and not make me feel rushed. This store has a relaxing, helpful, stress free atmosphere.
I always leave feeling like I have been thoroughly helped. There are employees that have been there for years like Mona, Michelle, Kimberly, Nome and they are invaluable. I probably didn't include everyone even though I tried. However, their newer employees are also very talented, knowledgeable people. I am proud to have such a World Class store in Eugene.

Harlequin Beads is one of my favorite stores in Eugene. Their selection is vast, their prices are reasonable (plus they have frequent sales), and everyone who works there is knowledgeable and helpful. My teen daughter and I have taken classes (affordable and fun), to learn basic beading-stringing and wire-twisting. There's a real sense of community within the store, with a room at the back where you can work on projects. Be sure and get on their mailing list, so you'll know of upcoming specials, trunk shows, and sales.

I've been a customer at Harlequin for about 7 years. In all of my experience, they've been extremely HELPFUL and WONDERFUL to deal with! When I've been stuck on a project that I'm making, I've brought it into the store and they've helped me out. Mona has taken a tremendous amount of time with me throughout the years and I appreciate her greatly. Nome and Tamara have also been AWESOME! I've taken several classes and when I leave, I know that I can do it! I love the selection that Harlequin offers also. Everyone has always been very quick to help me with the items that are behind the glass. Thank you, Harlequin!!

I'm a pretty easy going person and I get along with most people. Most of the independent businesses in Eugene are really great. My favorite time to go and check out downtown is during the weekends when the Saturday and Sunday Market is happening.

I have gone to Harlequin Beads twice. Both times I have felt really uncomfortable and generally unhappy after I leave. I've vowed to find another bead store to frequent.

The employees treat everyone like a thief. They watch you the whole time your shopping. Most of the product is behind glass cases and you have to ask for each individual item. The employees act rudely. I had to ask for help three times before someone would actually do anything for me.

Also, the prices are about triple what I would expect to pay in other stores. I did have a half off coupon, which is the only reason I bought anything. I still feel like I paid too much.

I went to this store the second time just recently. I brought in some veggies from the Saturday Market. I asked if I could come in and look around. They asked me to leave my bag at the front, which was fine. I explained my bag had food in it and asked if there was a counter I could set it on. The woman at the front desk was unbelievably rude. She told me I couldn't put anything on the counters and that I'd have to put it on the floor if I wanted to stay. She didn't say it nicely and I was a little shocked in the way she spoke to me. I just smiled and said I'd just come back later. When I was trying to leave, she yelled after me loudly enough that everyone started looking. It was really weird and just embarrassing.

I was really upset by the whole experience. I was dressed nicely and I think it was pretty obvious I was planning to buy a couple of things. I'm not sure what the big deal about their counters is. At the very least, the employee could have been nice about explaining their policies. I know one thing for sure, I'm -NEVER- going back to that store again. It's really disappointing because the location is so convenient. I'll find someplace with nicer staff and hopefully better prices.

There are almost no words for this store. A beader's paradise really, that is what it is. There are hanks (strings of beads) along one wall in every color and hue imaginable, loose beads fill the cases around the store (with one central case filled with only the beads of local artists). They have Swaroffski crystal beads, glass beads, polyamer beads, you name it - they have it.
My mother was visiting from upstate New York recently, and as an avid beader, she visits many bead stores a month (all over the country), she hit the nail on the head when she said as we were leaving, "THAT was the best bead store in all the land!!"

The selection and variety of products offered is excellent! From Metal and crystal to hand-blown glass pendants, to beading supplies and findings, this store has everything. I was overwhelmed the first time I walked in to this store since I wanted to buy everything in sight. The prices are comprable to those of major catalogues, without the inconvenience of having to wait for it in the mail.

An excellent choice for the jewelry enthusiast.

This store is filled with an awe inspiring collection of beads. They import them from around the world and offer great inspiration for all your beading projects. They are equally patient with a novice beader as well as experienced enough to advise on more advanced beading projects. They sell beading supplies and also offer classes.
