Just went for the Casino Rueda group lessons last Friday. I'm not a dancer at all and I had a fabulous time. The blue group instructor Jamal was awesome, very patient and answered all my questions. He seemed to really want us to learn the steps and move up to the next level. Granted we only learned three things but that was plenty for me. Watching the open dancing after our lesson made me want to come back again right away and perhaps even take other lessons. Definitely a really fun way to spend a Friday night for only a small cover price. Please if you do go listen to the instructor even if you've danced before and are good. Just help the newbies out and go with the flow. It will be so much more fun for everyone. :) Oh and by the way there is a new owner as well and his name is Cornelius or Nelio for short. He obviously loves to dance and will drag you out on the floor for a short one on one lesson.

I absolutely love this place. Friday nights are the best, $5 cover and a lesson that starts at 8:00pm. Open dancing after the lesson and they always play great music.

I've not been here with a 'date', but it is truly a GREAT place for a first date or just something new for the not so new couple... I am a single girl and would love if a guy thought to take me to something like this... fun atmosphere too.

Short little Mexicans. Can't live with them, and you definitely can't live without out them. Especially when they can shake their hips better than your girlfriend, and then help you learn how, as is the case with the owner/manager(?), a Mr. Remos. (Their great food is another reason!)

I am sure they offer private dance lessons, but on Friday nights this Salsa Dance studio is open to the public. I went with my sister, as going with someone you know is always more fun, but dance partners are not required. (As this was my first time and her second, we weren't even in the same group.) There is a five dollar fee, which is really nothing with all the fun to be had.

The instructors seem to be a hilarious bunch (at least ours was). Her name was Timmy (I think ^^), red-headed, and apparently a school teacher somewhere, but definitely very outgoing and a great instructor. The atmosphere was fantastic! I am definitely hooked and will be going back.

Each level got in its own circle, and every guy in the group danced with every girl. Generally after each round practicing the steps, you switch partners. There must have been between 45 - 60 people there!

The dance studio is above some cloud futon and furniture store. You get to it through this unmarked red door surrounded by a white painted door frame. The studio is up the stairs and to the left. The room is air conditioned but it still gets very warm with everyone dancing, although I guess the A/C sometimes doesn't work.

Registration starts at 7:30pm ($5) and the lessons last from 8pm to maybe 9:30pm. But you can stay and dance until midnight according to their website. I didn't stay for the dancing afterward, so I can't attest to how many people stick around, but I might stay later if I learn more moves.

I took a salsa class here. The instructor was the owner of the studio and his companion was his wife, which wasn't the friendliest let's just put it this way. The instruction is more traditional. If you're looking to learn Cuban and more street style salsa this is not quite your place.

PROS: Affordable
CONS: Not the best location
