I have been a member at the gym for 7 plus years now and started out by working out on my own. I was invited to the spinning class by the instructor, that walked by me to teach most days, as I tried to use the stationary bike on my own. Before long I went to the class and was welcomed and encouraged by other spinners. Not long after that I had my first personal training session with a staff member and was asked what I wanted. I told them I wanted to recover my lost fitness, after many years of focusing on being a mom.

I told the trainer I was concerned about the problems I was watching family members take on, like high blood pressure and cholesterol as well as foot, knee and hip problems. I never expected to get in to the shape I had been 10 years prior or to improve in my balance, coordination and leg strength like I have over these last 7 years. I felt like I really went backwards in age rather than just preventing the slide downhill. The trainer help me to correct my foot and shoulder posture with strengthening exercises and taught me to love the foam roller. Before long, with more instructor encouragement, I joined the fit camp class. I am amazed that after this many years they can still pull an exercise out of their hat, that I have never seen before. The classes are always varying in style and exercises and that's what keeps them fresh and fun.

I tell everyone how much easier it is to live life and do daily activities, because of the wonderful guidance and training I have received in the gym. I have found friendships and camaraderie, as well, and look forward to go each day. I never find it hard to get back in my routine, when something in my life interferes, because being at the gym is a supportive and healthy place, that draws me back. The modern equipment and updated classes are what make it a wonderful gym, but it is the staff that makes it a great place to go.

This Gym sucks. The owners are complete jerks. They don't treat their people right or try to work with them. I cancelled my membership there because I had moved out of state and they still charged me a fee. $120. I could understand if I was within driving distance, but another state? Come on! Not to mention they lied to me about when I could pay for it and when I went in to pay for it they charged me the regular monthly due on top of the $120. Not cool. They wouldn't work with me at ALL. Talk about treating Military members like crap. The owners are snobs, and bitches.

This is the best gym in the Willamette Valley, if not all of Oregon. All of my family works out there regularly, both individually and in the outstanding group classes they offer. The workouts in the classes are incredible. Staff are helpful and know a ton of information regarding nutrition and proper exercise. The staff and members are friendly and there is a family atmosphere. I strongly recommend to anyone wanting to compete at a high level or just get in shape after the holidays.
I think it's hilarious too that the negative reviews here are complaining about wall color, a Gold's Gym symbol, and the fact that they moved and weren't given a refund. If you don't have something of substance to write about the actual workout experience, then how is it a review? Sounds more like nonsensical complaining by a couple of whiners, one from a competitor in Corvallis. FYI, I'm a disabled veteran and I've always been treated with dignity and respect.

Fitness Experience is the BEST gym in Albany. They continually update their equipment, offer the newest classes in the fitness industry, and have the best nationally certified trainers in the area. There hours are great and they have childcare during all of their class times. Some of the staff has been there for 12 years making it feel like home, and they are always helpful and motivating. Me and my friends have all gotten into the best shape of our lives there. You should too.

The Staff is undertrained and ill advised, while the atmosphere lacks any sort of prevalence to a "gym" whatsoever. The only reason I at first deemed this place worthy of my attention was because of the Gold's Gym Statue, a trademark of bodybuilders for many years, however that has now been ripped off and the walls painted a putrid shade of green. I went in ONCE to talk about prices, see the gym itself, and get a feel for the staff and will never again return. The staff members were rude and unhelpful, and the OWNERS were even worse! NEW MANAGEMENT PLEASE. This place should be termed the "shittiest" experience, there is no fitness about it.

I've been working out at this gym for over a year now. The staff is friendly for the most part. They have a spin class and a few age classes. It would be nice if they added classes for younger people as well. Zumba or more popular classes would be a good element for them to add.

Albany's Fitness Experience is definitely worth joining. We've been members since they opened in Albany as Gold's Gym. The owners consistently update equipment and programs to meet their members' needs. We find their membership fees to be very reasonable and have checked other gym memberships in the area in comparison. Their staff are supportive, enthusiastic, and very knowledgeable. Classes offered include Spinning, Fit Camp, Piyo, and two that are designed specifically for individuals over 50. There is a variety of equipment for each type of workout to keep it interesting. The locker rooms are spacious and clean, each with a sauna. Also offered are child care, tanning beds and fitness counseling. If an individual wants to get a good workout, this is the place to do it.

While the facility is a bit crowded, the crowded is an indication of a popular place to work out.
I like to work out 3 times a week and choose my time to fit my workout.
The new area manager seems to have customer service first, so we'll see.

They are impossible to work with and absolutly horrendous... stay away from there. I would rather work out in my garage. My credit card was stolen, I tried to give them a new one and they continued to come after me like I was some type of thief.

I would not recommend the Golds Gym in Albany. This Gym is always crowded, which makes for an uncomfortable workout. I hate having to wait to use a machine. The mens locker room is small and not well kept, it could use a good sanatizing. I also found the rates a bit on the high side. Parking is also a problem. They share their lot with several other businesses, so it seems that you always have to really work at finding an empty space.
