Pros: This place serves the community

Cons: small sunday congregation

.

It's awesome to see the vision coming from this small congregation. Mt Tabor Presbyterian is a large building, filled with community groups, denominational outreaches, and a congregation seeking to make a difference in the lives of those around them. There is a Divorce Support group that accepts any of us, no matter where in the healing process we are, for adults and children of divorce. They just got their website up and running (www.mttaborchurch. net).
In the works are plans for more community outreach and a worship service that identifies with the "unseen" demographic in Southeast Portland - the nontraditional follower of Jesus.
It will be exciting to see what is happening over the next couple of years at this church. I invite anyone interested in searching their spirituality (Christian or not), or with a vision that would co-mingle with the unchurched, anti-church, or church community to visit and walk this path with those of us at Mt. Tabor Presbyterian.

Pros: small, personal congregation; vision for the future

Cons: small congregation, with a definite age gap between 35 and 65
