Not only is there a variety of books concerning the African-American experience and culture, but there is something for everyone: men, women, children, artists, health-nutritionists, and of course philosophers. They have an impressive list of guest authors. I've seen Anne Rice, Barb Kingstonsolv, Baileying Whiter, and Franklin Rulebenhav there, and the events have been interesting and well-organized. Give them a try and you won't be sorry, trust me!!!

PROS: well-organized, something for everyone, lots of rare authors
CONS: the ceiling is low so it can feel like a cave
