The very knowledgeable staff can answer all your questions. This looks like a small place from the road, but there are several greenhouses behind that you can wander through. A very nice selection.

I first went to Marbott's at the invitation of my son and daughter-in-law; they told me they had found this really great place to buy plants. I have been back every year since. They have a wonderful selection, eveything is in excellent condition, the people themselves are very knowledgable and have been able to answer my every question, and their prices, though not cheap, are not excessive. I am looking forward to my trip to Marbott's again this year.

Pros: Healthy plants, good selection, helpful service.

Cons: Non that I know of.

I have visited Marbott's several times and always found them to be helpful, knowledgeable and the plants to be very healthy. As another reviewer noted there can occasionally be a plant or two without a label but this is not Home Depot, it happens. I have never felt a high pressure sales pitch and have used my debit card without a extra charge (although I have not yet visited this season, maybe there was a policy change). On most occasions I purchase 1-3 plants and have never felt pushed to buy more. To me this business represents is a throw-back to an earlier time, it is a small locally owned nursery that has a good selection of plants and great customer service. I highly recommend them and hope that you have the same wonderful experiences that I have had.

Waking up to the sun after a long, cold, winter inspired my husband and I to make a list of several nurseries in our area in search of garden supplies. Our first stop was Marbott's, because they open early. Unfortunately, I wish we had gone somewhere else because our experience at Marbott's was so horrible it ruined our mood and after leaving we were so irritated we just went home. But I digress...

At first glance, Marbott's looks fantastic. They have an off street parking lot and tons of space. Initially, after walking in, my only immediate criticism was that they don't have a lot of things labeled with names or any kind of care instructions. However, after walking through the nursery areas outside and being followed around the lot by the owner being asked, quite seriously, why we had not selected more to purchase, (on no less than three occasions!) really started to offend me because it was very obviously not a joke after the third time.

I was also very upset to be yelled at from the back of the nursery, scolded even, for walking down a path (not labeled as closed) that was apparently not open "YOU DON'T GO DOWN THERE!". I'm not sure why 'you don't go down there' but I got the impression he didn't like us being as close to the exit as we were because he was so far back. I distinctly got the impression he thought we were trying to steal something - maybe he thought because we hadn't loaded up on expensive items we were thieves. It made me very angry and I almost put the plants back so I could leave. But we decided to check out.

I figured at this point the agony was over but again we were criticized for not purchasing more, and he refused to let us take the flat that was holding our plants I guess after paying his high prices for the two plants, being scolded for walking too close to the exit, paying extra for the privilege of using my debit card, I had not spent enough to receive a box to carry my plants home in, so he tossed them in a bag.

Pros: Large space, off street parking

Cons: Lots of dead plants, lots of things smothered by moss, RUDE OWNER, things not labeled
