I went here for a while many years ago and decided to leave after a very negative experience with Dr. Thum being openly judgmental and critical - two things I do not ever want in a medical provider. I returned after becoming pregnant (my current GYN is awesome, but dropped her OB many years ago) to give them another chance as they are geographically very convenient, and I do like the Providence hospital. What a mistake! I filled out forms in triplicate in the waiting room, only to be asked the exact same questions again in the examination room while the nurse entered the answers into the computer. The assistant had me weigh in with a winter coat, heavy boots and bag ("oh, it doesn't really matter..!) and the nurse practitioner was wearing a very prominent gold cross, which made me uncomfortable. Additionally, I was not made aware prior to the appointment that they have no ultrasound facilities, and you have to make another appointment with a different lab altogether for that, so my partner took time off work and waited for 45 mins in the lobby to see our baby's heartbeat - for nothing! I would not recommend anyone to this clinic for OB or GYN.

Pros: Parking

Cons: Judgemental, Poorly equipped, Sloppy

After making an appointment, stating that we'd prefer a midwife, we were told that there was no such thing available here. "Of course, we'll have to charge you today!" said the nurse after informing us that they couldn't help us!!! The bill was $289 (for the 20 min's we talked to the nurse) at first - after protesting the co$st, they still charged over $185!!! That's OUTRAGEOUS for a cash paying customer. We'll never be back!
