.

The Milwaukie office is actually under lease, and Westaff does not occupy it. So this review is for the downtown office, which supplies temp staffing work for the entire Portland, OR metro area.

In my opinion, this is a temp service, that is not only not being truthful in the work they have available, but should you find something better than what they do have, they throw a big shit-fit.

I was in their office in early June 2005 to fill out an app, submit my resume and do their test to see if your a candidate for their work--at which they told me they had plenty of work available for me to do. Well, almost SEVEN weeks later, and after submitting apps for THREE other jobs they had available online, they finally offer me a short-term assignment paying just above minimum wage working for one week. This staffing service just DOES NOT have it together!!

When I spoke with Claudine one day about why was I not hearing back from them on positions I was applying for, they said ALL of their jobs that are posted are for RECRUITMENT purposes is all, doesn't mean there is a job available for it !

I worked just a day, before one other place I had applied at, called and offered me the job for much more than Westaff was paying me, but I would have to take the position immediately. So I quit working here and when I did, Darci and Claudine ( Westaff placement staff ) were pissed off because I didn't let them know I had other places I was applying at and it put them in a "big bind to fill". Excuse me, but where the hell were they when I was without any $ for almost two months of NO contact from them when I would attempt to reach them, and this was a TEMPORARY job and TEMPORARY service I was working for?!??

I heard on a informational program on the radio--and this aired on 20/20 tv program too, about how employers are playing mind-games with employees to get them to quit, fire them over little petty things that were not even an issue 5 years ago, and do stupid tricks when

PROS: If you can wait weeks, or perhaps months for a job, you might find one :-(
CONS: Pitiful service, plays mind-games , Lies about work availability :-(
