4 Stars: get ready for school (by Akisha W.)

it has everything you need for school, plus extras like portable cd players, non-school books, trinkets and clothes. they also sell art supplies. when school starts, the lines are long, but they move quickly. and don't forget, sometimes there are discounts on supplies if you flash your student ID.

PROS: great stuff, everything you need in one place
CONS: needs later hours

4 Stars: Books for the entire family (by Lisa V.)

Contrary to popular belief, the bookstore doesn't just sell books to univeristy students, but has a full stock of books, magazines, and gifts for the whole family. It is a great place to look around while you are downtown. They sell their books off of their barcode value, so they are slightly more expensive than a chain bookstore, but they have the university feel.

4 Stars: PSU Bookstore (by Taylor C.)

The PSU bookstore is located on the university's campus, which means that parking is a huge hassle. Barring that, however, this is a more than adequate bookstore, featuring a huge selection of magazines, textbooks, and new releases. There is a moderate selection of other literature, art and school supplies, and a ton of PSU paraphernalia. The shop is actually a co-op, and for $1 a year you get a percentage of your purchases refunded to you, as well as money-saving coupons. There are frequent sales, so prices are often better than those other bookstores you could shop at. It's right near a fantastic pizza place and coffee shop and contained in a large courtyard with fountains and plenty of room for lounging and reading.
