I don't think I can say enough good about Willamette Veterinary Clinic.

My beloved cat Rango was hit by a car a bit over a month ago - his face and jaw was badly smashed up and required immediate life saving stabilization and subsequent surgery the next day. The doctor had to remove his upper jaw on one side, wife his lower jaw together, and, biggy of all - fix his tongue which was bit about 70% thru.

So luckily for me, Dr Dan Lewer was on emergency that night - and later I found out he likes a challenge. And it was.

Rango had to be tube fed for about 10 days, then following removal of the tube syringe fed (force fed?). I wasn't about to let him die, so if I had to shove food down his throat, so be it.

I've been back now 3-4 times for a re-check - and been treated so well by Dr Lewer, who has been sensitive not only to the health of my cat, but also to my finances. It isn't cheap to go thru all this - but how can you put a price on the love of a pet? Dr Kalenius (sp?) has also been great and compassionate to work with when Dr Lewer wasn't in.

Rango is doing very well now, has gained weight and eating and pooping regularly, and being turned into an indoor cat.

He was already a loving way good cat, but all this nurturing has made him even more so.

I feel so lucky to have such a great skilled Doctor and such a wonderful veterinary clinic that he landed at that night - brought in by a kind Good Samaritan who picked him up off the road (Circle Blvd) rather than let him lay there where the next car would have finished him off.

Thanks so very much for my kitty back!

Willamette Vet. Hospital is best vet facility and has the nicest staff of any place I've ever taken my pets--has been 30+ years and multiple cities and vet hospitals. They gave me a tour the first time I visited; very impressive equipment and animal care areas. The best part about this place though, is the people who care for my dogs. The doctors, reception staff and animal technicians are consistently helpful, professional, experienced, knowledgeable, and really seem to care about me and my pets. Wouldn't consider going anywhere else!

Definitely the best vet hospital in the Willamette Valley. Dr. Callahan and his stafff have been taking care of our animals (after a few less than satisfactory experiences at other clinics) since we moved here 11 years ago. The staff is always friendly and helpful, all the doctors communicate well with us and our pets, and the veterinary care is exceptional! Even ignoring the 24-hour care, I would recommend them highly; when you add in that kind of emergency and after hours attention, they are in a class by themselves.

I am a long time client of Willamette Veterinary Hospital and I would never dream of going any where else. I have a Boxer who has, in his old age, has come up with special and uncommon problems. Blazer has seen Dr. Steve Callahan since his first day home with my almost 8 years ago. Now we see him on a regular basis; probably about once every couple months for something new with my Boxer, and Dr. Callahan has always been there to fix his problems. When Blazer was younger Dr. Callahan recommended he become a blood donor and Blazer was a perfect match, in his 6 years as a donor he helped to save many lives with his blood. Now my newest dog Lola has taken his place as a donor to continue his legacy. Over all I love taking my pet to the vet, I know they are always very well cared for and my dogs actually like going to the vet becuase the staff is great and they always give them treats and lots of love. I recommend Willamette to all of my friends and family and I would never take my pets any where else.

After trying with no luch to reach my veterinarian late at night with an emergency, I called Willamette Veterinary Hospital. They immediately answered, listened to my cat's problems, and told me to come right in. Dr. Kristina Cox was the vet on duty that night; she quickly diagnosed Max's problems (he had a "urinary blockage"), and gave me a clear picture of what needed to be done, along with an accurate estimate of costs. After two days in the hospital, Max came back home--happy as could be on his new, permanent diet. We have subsequently switched veterinary hospitals because of the 24-hour on-site care, friendly staff, and capable yet compassionate doctors. Couldn't be happier!

Dr. Callahan's hospital has been a "2nd home" for my pets for almost 15 years; and I have never had a bad experience there. The new building is beautiful and functional; but, what really impresses me is how all the staff treat my pets as if they were their own. No matter if it is routine care, emergency services, or boarding--I always feel like my animals have received the best care possible. All of the veterinarians there are great.

Willamette Veterinary Hospital in general, Dr. Callahan in particular . . . simply the best in the area; best vet hospital I've ever (many years of pet care!) had the pleasure to use. The entire staff is friendly and professional, they love my animals (and treat me well too). Whenever I've had the need for emergency care or with a sick animal, the doctors always explain everything to me, then do a great job of diagnosing and treating my pets. I wouldn't consider going anywhere else.

I do not recommend this clinic. I have a very sick cat whose course of treatment depended on his lab results. I waited two days and heard nothing. I ended up walking in, getting my cats records and lab results, and taking my cat to another vet who would take the time to look at them and help me save him. Willamette Veterinary Clinic apparently doesn't have the time to help all their patients. Or maybe they just don't care.
If you truly love your pet and want him/her to live a long healthy life, get their care from another clinic.

The entire staff at Willamette Veterinary Clinic knows me and my pets . . . and take pride in how well they care for all aspects of my pets care. Exams and surgical procedures are handled with professionalism and compassion from start to finish--my two dogs actually like going there (can't say the same for my cats!, but they are still handled remarkably well). I have been a client for 12 years, would not think of changing.

I've have lived in Corvallis for 20 years, have use most of the veterinary facilities in the area--none can compare with the current people at Willamette Vet. Hospital. I usually see Dr. Joey Goldthorpe, but any of the vets there are great--they combine a beautiful facility with compassionate and skilled veterinarians and other staff . . . I've never had a bad experience with either emergency or daytime groups. If you're looking for the best--I'd encourage anyone to go here.

What a great place to take your pets! I first went there over the Xmas holidays 2 years ago for an emergency surgery--my dog had swallowed panty hose and couldn't stop vomiting due to an intestianl obstruction. The staff was professional and compassionate, Dr. Vaughn was great! He went over the Xrays with me, explained the problem, gave me a complete estimate of costs to anticipate, and what to expect afterwards. Then, he performed the surgery that night, and sent me home with a healthy dog 2 days later, under the estimate!
I have since returned with my pets to the daytime practice, and experienced the same levels of friendly/helpful staff and doctors who communicate with me, love my dogs, and take wonderful care of them. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

All they care about is the $$$. Way over priced. I will never send anyone to this emergency clinic even if your pet is dying. I know several people who have lost pets here and were charged an arm and both legs before all was said and done. NO compassion at all. They are rude and heartless. I know someone who worked there and she quit because of the unfairness they bestowed on their clients! They don't care about the animals so whip out your check book and credit card!

I'll never take my animals back here. Very incompassionate doctors, more interested in making money than in patient care -- way over priced, and I don't mind paying for high quality care for my dogs. Always trying to push the 'optional' packages that are not necessary. There is a new emergency clinic near Tom's Garden Center on Hwy 20. There are super-- very friendly, informative, compassionate, and affordable.

Iv'e been to this vet twice for my cat's annual checkup. They gave her rabies shot twice in ten days due to a "bookeeping error". I'll never take my pet there again for her own safety.

After taking my puppy to a different vet to be neutered the vet didn't provide him with a collar to prevent licking his stitches. Later that night he started licking them and wouldnt stop, the only place open in town was Willamette Veterinary Clinic, they let me in provided me with a collar and offered to remove the stitches free of charge when they were ready to come out!

PROS: Easy to find, Understand what customer service means
CONS:

Willamette Veterinary Clinic is the best place to see my cat! Dr. Candace is a sweety and great with small pets. She recommended therapy for my kitty to help her lose weight, which made me giggle, since I could use it tooat that small price! Their supplies are cheap too, and from trusted suppliers.
