This is a very fine German restaurant with daily specials. We love the extensive menu and always order the fondue. Nice wine menu here which really compliments the food.

Gustav's German Pub is one of our favorite places to go for lunch in this part of town. Their lentil soup is delicious. They have a wide variety of beer fun to try something different. Also they serve both German and American food which is very very good and reasonably priced. Give them a try.

Gustav's is my "birthday choice"--meaning,
it's the restaurant I always choose for my
dinner out on my birthday! I love the pork
loin dishes, and the fondue...I think I dream
of the fondue now & then! <grin>
Last time we were there, we went early and the
wait was minimal, the beer sampler platter was
outstanding, and the food was prepared quickly
and was delicious.
If you go during 'normal' dinner hours (past 5:30
on a weekend), you will undoubtedly have a wait-time.
However, we found that going just before 5 is a great
time, and the food & service was spectacular.

This used to be our favorite restaurant; we took all visitors there and I purchased client gift certificates from there. The atmosphere was great....German music greeted you when you entered the place and it was like the old country (which is why we liked it) and the food was great. The last time we were there the music had changed, the menu had completely changed and the food prep really left something to be desired. Horst Mager has always put out such outstanding food and the ambiance was so special...that our last two visits were a real let down. We were told that he had retired and his daughter was now running the place and was trying to "Americanize" it....Guess what? We liked it the way it was. If we want American food....we can find that kind of restaurant on most any corner....Please...put it back to the way it was!
PROS: It appears to be clean
CONS: The food & ambiance has all changed to a negative
