Our family took the tour as an excuse to let my husband sample some very rare US brewed sake. The kids had a great time and learned something. I enjoyed learning about the process of brewing. The sakery was beautiful and immaculately clean. The sake is very tasty and I must admit we came home with some. They chose this area because our water is as pure as the historic breweries in Japan. Tours are free BTW.

At Sake One you can buy sake, taste sake, and tour the brewery (yes, sake is brewed not distilled). The tasting is very inexpensive. The third Saturday of every month is Saketini Saturday where in addition to tasting straight sake, you can taste several imaginative creations made by the staff. The tour is neat (and free) and the staff is friendly and informative.

If you want to taste a variety of sake and see how it is made, this is the place to visit. SakeOne is the only Amerian sake brewery and the only one outside of California. These guys craft a variety of traditional styles including Junmai Ginjo, Tanrei Jumai, Nigori and a hearty Genshu as well as infused sake like Asian Pear, Plum and Coconut Lemongrass Nigori (awesome!). You can take a tour of the brewing operation and learn how it is made which will enlighten your perspective on this wonderful ages old beverage. And, the third saturday of each month is Saketini Saturday. Check out their website for details www.sakeone
