Used to be a stand up joint. Service was excellent. Food was dismal. Sent the wings were sent back and they were gracious about taking them off the tab. I should have done the same w/the crab melt- which was a cup of mayo w/some things

This place is amazing. The food is great; the cocktails are great; the wine list is great and reasonable. Best of all the service is top notch. Over a year ago, we went and thought it was good. Then we went back and were blown away. It's GREAT. I love the food here. The salad choices are great and unique. I love the steelhead. I enjoy every meal here. What's really nice is that the entire staff is super friendly, but not phony. They remember you and make a point to say hello and make sure you enjoy your experience. Beaverton has very little in the way of fine dining. So Hall Street is pretty much it, but that's okay with us. I could eat here several times a week and be totally happy.

We have been long time patrons and have enjoyed the experience from the food to the service. However, this evening was different and disappointing. We had the grill steak which was excellent as usual but the positive review ends there. Two of our previous favorites have been changed and not for the better, specifically the sole and the beet salad. Moreover, the Osso bucco was a fantastic option but hasn't been seen for at least a year. Furthermore, the service was a notch below its typically high level. We'll try again but our patronage may soon be found elsewhere if things don't improve.

Pros: Former Entrees

Cons: New Entrees

The service was dismissive and rude, the food isn't what it used to be. I heard that the old chef left, seems like everything I loved about Hall Street left with him.

Server seemed annoyed by every request and our food took a very long time to arrive. Don't let your night out be ruin here.

On February 13 I was going to celebrate my birthday along with Valentine's Day at the Hall Street Grill, with my husband. We asked to be seated in the bar because we did not have reservations. I asked the hostess to NOT seat us at a high table because I have MS. That is exactly where they seated us! We had to endure two girls, under 10 years old, plus their parents who where texting and viewing the internet through the whole dinner. The girls were flipping upside down, complaining, putting their feet on the table, kicking me across the seat and putting their hands on our table. One little girl fell out of the high seat, cracked her head on our table and landed upside down on the floor. Crying ensued! The mother kept calling her daughter "stupid" while she peered into her Blackberry screen oblivious to what her children were doing! Lisa, the Manager said she was sorry but she had to seat the children in the bar as per the parents request. Good judgment on the management part would have been to place them at a standard height table AWAY from other quiet adult customers! My husband's clam chowder had no clams in it and the waitress said she would take it off the bill. That didn't happen! The whole experience ruined my birthday and Valentine's dinner!

I had a terrible experience this last saturday night. The service was bad and the management was absent. I will not be returning if that is how they run their business.

My wife and I had a nice dinner here with friends- we each had a beer and she had the quinoa and I had a pasta. I couldn't believe the amount of food we received. After spending $47 (with tip) I SHOULD leave full! The presentation was nice, and it tasted great, but the small portion was not worth $16.95 for my pasta, or her dish. We asked for more bread but the waiter forgot to bring it to us.

We both left still hungry but unwilling to pay more. For half the price I could have gone to Olive Garden nearby and left stuffed.

In this economy when we don't go out as much as we used to, it's unfortunate to see a restaurant profitting or 'getting by' for skimping. There is nothing more annoying then leaving a restaurant still hungry, and feeling taken advantage of!!!

The day we went for lunch, the service was poor, the prices high and the food inconsistant. My husband and I ordered the same sandwich but they were not made the same.

My husband and I decided to splurge and go out for dinner this last friday night. With all that is going on in the world and here in the states we wanted to be taken away from the "real" world just for a night. We could not have picked a better place to dine than Hall Street Grill. We have dined there many times before and felt that they would meet our expectations and they surpassed them on this occassion. We were taken back a bit by the fact that there was a wait, but we wanted to have a drink first anyway. The hostess was very nice but her wait time was not accurate. We had to wait longer than the time qouted. Which we were fine with us since our cocktail waitress was so sweet and conversational. When we were seated in the dining room we were delighted to discover some new menu options. None of our favorites were gone but there were some great sounding new items that we had to decide over. I decided to try the Pork. Was that a great delight to my taste buds. The pork was perfectly cooked and the seasonings were well balanced. Something new for me was the spetzel. What an innovative idea to round out the plate. My husband was also delighted with his choice although he was not as daring as me and went with his favorite dish. The restaurant was so warm and friendly with the staff buzzing around with smiles. The experience was refreshing and exactly what we were looking for. We highly recommend Hall Street to anyone wanting to be taken away for a few hours.

Hall Street will be out of business soon with management staff like we experienced tonight. He has no idea what customer service is.

The experience at Hall Street Grill has always been great. I have been many times and never disappointed with any selection from their menu which has a wide variety of selections. The burgers are grilled to perfection. you can't go wrong here, make sure you have enough time to enjoy the full experience.

We took out of town guests to Hall Street on Friday night and was disappointed in the service and quality. We had reservations and were promptly seated. It was a 100 degree day outside and their a/c wasn't keeping up. Our booth had to be 85 degrees. My drink was frequently empty (I only got two drinks in 1.5 hours of dining). I ordered three different drinks for which they didn't have the alcohol I called. One of our guests actually sent his fish dish back as dry and overcooked. I ordered the salmon which arrived warm, but not hot. The appetizers were small and we should have been told that 2 appetizers were not going to go very far for six guests. One expects more when going to a high-end restaurant.

The bread pudding was a tasty dessert.

The worst service ever... After our server gave us our drinks, we were COMPLETELY ignored by everyone working there for 35 minutes. NO ONE checked on us. The menu looked good, but we never had the chance to order anything. When we gave up and wanted to leave, someone had to track our server down, and she had to ask us where we had been sitting. We were not tucked away somewhere, and there were four of us. Terrible. And to make it worse, this was a late Father's Day treat for my Dad.

Overpriced and disappointing.

I'm typically pretty easy-going about service, food, etc. but we spent $160 and basically left disappointed.

My husband and I recently had dinner at Hall Street to celebrate our anniversary. The atmosphere is pretty intimate even with people all around you.

Staff seemed tense, which was kind of weird.

The waitperson didn't mention specials, soup of the day and wasn't very familiar with the menu, food or wines.

They completely forgot to deliver our appetizers.

There were very long delays on refilling our beverages which doesn't typically happen in even the most basic restaurants.

Our food arrived cold. My entree (fish) was a poor combination of flavors and overcooked while my husband's entree (scallops) tasted bland and was seriously undercooked.. Their glasses of water had a chlorine aftertaste.

The staff rarely checked on us; granted, the restaurant was busy but is that really an excuse?

I've had much better meals at much lower prices.

It's a shame. I had high hopes.

My husband and I rarely get to have a date night or a restaurant that doesn't have a play place for our kids. When we decided to go out tonight. I search almost endlessly for a nice steak house. We found one in the Hall Street Grill. We arrived 10 minutes early for our reservation (highly recommended). We were immediately given the choice to sit outside or in. We chose outside after all it was a rare blue sky day. We were greeted by our very nice waitress Amy. It did take awhile for the service, but Amy explained why. We are patient people so it was no problem and well worth the wait, and a chance for uninterrupted conversation (a rarity for parents). The food was outstanding. The price is high so if your on a budget then keep that in mind. It was 102.00 with tip for us. But again well worth the price. We will be back, but will have to wait for a special occasion. Please consider this place for your next dinner out. And try the buffalo flank steak.

I am new to the Beaverton area. I was having lunch with a new client, and they reccomended Hall Street Grill. I was expecting it to be pub-like, but what we got was much more. The host at the front desk was accomodating to our need for a large table to spread work out on, even without reservations and what seemed to be a full restaurant, and our server was informative and very friendly. Everyone seemed right on the ball, and the food was amazing! We both had the special. On our way out, about 4 people thanked us for coming in. We will be back.

Late lunch on a Saturday afternoon was delightful in the quiet bar area. Wild salmon burger and fish and chips were freshly done. They substituted side dishes readily. Appreciate the effort to buy local products. French fries were superb! Only negative is the carmelized onion butter. It's too sweet and is off-putting with the olive artisan bread. We'll go back when the weather's better to dine outside.

It was my husband?s birthday and he wanted a special treat. Hall Street Grill was the answer. It was our first visit. We read the reviews on City search and figured we will give it a shot. Great food and service. We started with a drink in the bar and finished the evening with Donna (our server). What a great experience. Excellent food, perfect service and fun energetic place. Seems like every one is having fun. We did not want to leave but they had to close for the day, we will defiantly be back for Monday night wine discount (50% off according to Donna).

I have been going to Hall Street for as long as it has been in existence, which I think is over 20 years!! I can honestly say that I've NEVER had a bad meal there. On occassion, the service has been rather slow, but usually is commensurate with how busy they are---if you go on a wk. end , or Friday night , you are going to wait--even with reservations (which I would ALWAYS recommend here. This you will find AT ANY good popular place--which this is !! My complaint --when lunching with a friend yesterday{ 9/11/07} , was that at the end of our meal, we felt like we were being "hounded" by our server to pay the tab, and be on our way.!! This was a week-day afternoon, and they were not particularly busy. I did not like this, and wrote a "comment card" stating such and mailed it to the GM. This waiter was otherwise faultless.

My husband and I went on Saturday night and found that the restaurant was not too busy (we didn't need our reservation). We were seated promptly and started looking over the tantalizing menu. There were many delicious options, however the price seemed a bit high. The meals did not come with starter salads, but our waitress made it sound like the small $7.50 salads were included (we were a bit surprised when we got the check). I had the special which was jumbo scallops with pollenta and a yellow tomato rellish for $25. While the meal that I received was good, I only received three regular sized scallops. The portions of our meals were small, but filling. After we received our meals we saw our waitress one more time and that was it. She went to refill my diet coke and never remembered to come back. The wait staff, for the most part, seemed too young and inexperienced to be serving food that cost $20+ per plate.

Wait staff was prompt and friendly
Food was delicious and prepared as ordered, (even made a custom order)
Wine was excellent (chosen by my wife)
Mood / ambiance was mellow (lighted well)
Parking (ample)
I just can't say enough about this place.
I eat out breakfast lunch and dinner and am very particular about my food. This was my first A+ experience in 33 years.

Mothers Day Brunch at Hall St Grill was fantastic. Our server was attentive and pleasant but the real star was the food! The menu was varied, creative, and very reasonably priced. I wish the menu had included a listing of brunch drinks, if it had I probably would have ordered something other than coffee.

After we ordered we perused the sumptuous buffet that offered everything from fresh fruit, orzo salad, and breakfast breads to an unusual yet delectable chilled strawberry soup. Instead of the buffet being picked over, as can usually be the case when a restaurant is as busy as they were, it was well tended to by two cheery and courteous cooks. Our entree?s arrived and they were brilliant. The strata was wonderful, the grit cakes with crab salsa scrumptious, and the frittata fluffily and tender.

I have enjoyed Hall St. for quite some time and the food is better now then it has ever been. The happy hour is great, they have expanded both the food and drink menu so it is even better then ever. The lunch and dinner menus have some new additions that are worth a try too. It is so refreshing to find a place that keeps its menu updated with imaginative and uncommon items. I would have sent my comments to the management but we didn?t see comment cards anywhere, they would be a good addition.

I didn't do my usual Citysearch scan of reviews on this restaurant before I went and wish I did. We recently took our out-of-town guests there and we very disappointed. We all came from Scottsdale Arizona where, I admit we have been spoiled with restaruants. that is why we wanted to take them to what we read was "the best restaurant in Beaverton if not all of Portland." Now that I have read the reviews I see that one either loves this place or hates it. doesn't seem to be an in between. Well, if you like a stinky, old, overpriced dive that should have been renovated 10 years ago and serves a an overcooked gristle sandwich and calls it prime rib well then, have at it! I won't be going back. "Hall Street Bar and Grill; stop comparing yourself to downtown restaurants and trying to be more than you now are. It's over, go away or clean the place up!"

I recently went back to Hall Street Grill and utterly disappointed. Last time I was here, it was about a year ago and even then I felt the HH menu had gone south. This time, I was very disappointed: the price has gone up and the food has gone down in terms of quality. Their HH drinks are still cheap albeit a bit weak on alcohol and their HH burger is still decent, but other than that the rest (I went with several people and got to taste just about every food on the HH menu) was average at best. FYI: Friday HH gets insanely busy, crowded and VERY noisy.

Oh and I've eaten their regular restaurant food for dinner before and it is NOT worth the price (as the previous reviewer mentioned) - the quality, flavour and the taste... all so under par for the price they charge as if they're an upscale restaurant.

While the food at Hall Street was good, it was definitely nothing to write home about and definitely not worth the price we paid for it. One appetizer, two salads, and two entrees - both entrees were pasta dishes, not even steak - cost us $65. The food menu is extremely limited and the service was terrible. It took an exceptionally long time to get our food and our sodas literally sat empty for 10 minutes before being refilled. In the end, the quality of the food and the exceptionally bad service just didn't justify the high cost. Your money could be better spent at another restaurant.

The food is by far the best in the metro area hands down. The Chef has a creative mind that needs to be bottled and shared with those willing to enjoy what he has to offer. If I have to chose one dish that I put has my recommendation. This being a very hard task as I honestly believe they are all in thier own way the best of the best. My choice would be the prime rib. This prime rib is so delightfully wonderful. From the presentation of the dish to the heavenly way that it melts in your mouth the moment you taste it. Served with the most devine horseradish mash, that is not overpowering, to the perfectly cooked bussel sprouts and the shaved horseradish (that believe it or not is more on the sweet side).
The staff is also so very warm and inviting. From the moment you enter the building to the moment you leave you feel cared for. How many places give you the warm comforting feel that no matter what they will make your experience the best you can ask for. Not very many that I know of.
If you go another day without the benifit of trying the cuisine at the Hall Street Grill you are letting your taste buds miss out on heaven and your soul miss out on the relaxing comforting nature of the restaurant.

Here you will find a great after work meeting place for friends and colleagues. The lights are slightly dim and the interior is beautifully decorated and people are dressed business casual, giving it the appearance of a moderately upscale restaurant. But it has a reasonably priced happy hour menu that is great tasting and has a nice presentation. Atmosphere is moderately relaxed and noise level is tolerable, making general conversation easy but more difficult for intimate conversations and romantic dinners.

Pros: Beautiful, relaxing but envigorating, reasonable H&H, tolerable noise level

Cons: Staff could be friendlier or more welcoming.

Hall Street is simply the best place to unwind after work in Beaverton. Go for the food, the drinks, or their happy hour and you can't go wrong. The staff at Hall Street offer exceptional service and are some of the friendliest people you'll find in town. If you like spice try the fiery chicken linguini but you really can't go wrong with anything on their menu.

amazing place! Great happy hour! Great food! Great service with plenty of smiles all over the place! Add to that a fountain on the covered patio! Amazing place. We love it and we will be back.

My husband and I went there. Everything on the menu was extremely expensive, so we opted for hamburgers, which were also extremely expensive but less than everything else. They were large, dry patties on large, dry buns and they were awful. The fries were a greasy disaster. We will never go back.

While what people say about this restaurant having slightly outdated decor and the smoke filled bar being right at the front of the entrance are true, this is the best restaurant on the Westside hands down. I would argue that it even warrants a visit from the "city folk" because the food here always pleases. The menu is updated regularly to include seasonal items like fresh salmon and seafood, while maintaining a few staples like excellent steak and chicken dishes. The wine list is very good and the waitstaff has always treated us like gold. Happy hour here is one of the best, but get here early, as it gets very crowded in the bar. The restaurant itself can be pretty tough to get into on a weekend night, as are any 1/2 decent places on the Westside, since the choices are so limited.

Wow, has this place gone down hill. The happy hour still rocks - both the food menu and drinks are fantastic. But, if you're there after happy hour and are still hungry, plan on dishing out $35-$40 for an average (at best) dinner and salad. The portions are so small, you'd think you're still ordering off the happy hour menu.

The staff is always great but this place is just rediculous. It's so outdated and expensive. I can live with one or the other, but not both. My advice, don't order anything after happy hour ends.

Waited an 1 1/2 hours for a table. When we arrived at the table, it was still dirty. Food arrived after waiting for another 45 minutes. The steak was over done and bland. The waitress never checked back with us during the entire meal and I had to get up, walk back to the front of the restaurant to find the hostess so that I could pay.

If you're looking to pay high prices for terrible service and mediocre food. This place is perfect.

Suburbia has it--a GREAT happy hour spot with outside dining to boot! Hall Street Grill combines great presentation with some outstanding happy hour food and drink specials for a most excellent price. Careful, its proximity to the infamous strip clubs attracts some interesting folks in "pre-funk" mode. Generally the scene is conservative, mid to late thirtyish couples. Check this one out if youa re in the area!

Few weeks back had their grilled Copper River Salmon. Unquestionably the best I've ever had. The fare at HSG never disappoints, but on many occasions, it is hard to believe how good it really is. The service is great and the whole experience is unpretentious. HSG has put an end to my circling for a parking spot in Northwest.

Constantly hopping, the Hall Street Grill is awesome for a power lunch. Well-prepared entreés compliment a high-energy atmosphere that helps to get things accomplished. The drinks hit the spot too, especially at happy hour. The prices don't always seem to match up with the dishes, but at this level of quality its not often noticable. A must-visit for white linen diners in Beaverton.

I am constantly hunting for great prime rib and Hall Street has the best in the western suburb area. It's a salt aged prime rib which gives it a rich taste. As with most places rib can be hit or miss, it's usually guaranteed to be the freshest on the weekends. The blue cheese salad is simple but terrific as well. I would recommend this restaurant to friends.

Hall Street with its fine dining and wonderful happy hour is a treasure and over the past couple years has become more like "Cheer's" to me and most in my office. Maybe it is also because the managers name is Sam? What ever it is Hall Street is a secluded place for all to relax and enjoy.

LOVE this restaurant. GREAT food and drinks. OUTSTANDING service. An OASIS in an area dominated by chain restaurants. BUT for Happy Hour...get there early or don't bother. Folks tend to "park" and it's impossible to find a seat past 5:00.

for me that is. But the price is a tad stiff for me to visit as often as I would like. The food and atmosphere are decent, as well as the service. It's my impression, after several visits, that their specialty does indeed rest with their grill entrees.

I am not sure what the previous person is talking about as far as having a hamburger at McDonald's price during happy hour???

Hall Street has good food, good service, and a very nice atmosphere. Though it can be a bit pricy.

Where Hall Street shines is at happy hour. The happy hour menu has some of Hall Streets best food offerings at an incredibility frugal price. The hamburger on the Happy Hour menu knocked me out. It was very, very tasty at a McDonalds price.

If you want to try Hall Street fare without breaking the bank, give happy hour a chance and be sure to give their French Onion Soup a go.

After hearing my coworkers talk about this restaurant, I decided to try it out. I'm sorry I made the effort, because the trip was definitely not worth it. Their food is decent, but for the prices I expect a lot more. The atmosphere is nice, although walking into a smoke-filled lobby (the bar is near the front entrance) is an immediate turn-off to me. And frankly, I wish I would have taken it as a clue and turned around and left before I wasted my time and money.

This suburban spot offers traditional country club cuisine in a large and comfortable ski lodge-style setting. The mesquite grill produces many juicy steaks and meat dishes (particularly the double cut pork chop with wild boar spatzle).…
