Dr. Ferro and his office crew have been my vet for 18 years. Over the years they have a lot of business. They went through with Our family the ups & downs with the care of my 7 pugs and 5 cats. They have been nothing but caring . Dr Ferro was great with our pugs & cats. They got us through the deaths of our 7 pugs with deep concern for our feelings. They still care for my cats. I have new pug and she will be seeing Dr Ferro this week. If you want excellent care of your pets, do not mind a busy small vets office, becuse it is, Because they are the Best!!!!!!!!!

We have had nothing but negative experiences with Barclay Hills Veterinary Clinic. The most recent thing is that we just found out (by checking with our last vet, whom we loved) that Barclay Hills overvaccinated/unnecessarily vaccinated our cats, and the one vaccine that they DID need, the vet didn't give them! They had our former (thorough) records; they should have known. I was following what they said, trusting their expertise. They are never very friendly, and always seem to be put out with each new customer. They never, ever acknowledge a person when he/she walks in, and say anything like, "Hi. We'll be right with you," etc. Instead, they ignore you until they are completely finished with whatever they are doing. Their reception area consistently smells like smoke, as one or more of the receptionists smokes. Very unprofessional. I always hope for a better experience each time I go, but am always disappointed. Even when talking to the head vet/owner over the phone, I was amazed at how curt and unfriendly he was. Wow. We are now moving out of state, so won't be dealing with them anymore, luckly. Worst vet I've ever had for my cats, and I've been going to vets for many, many years.

I raise Australian Cattle Dogs and was referred by another breeder friend who used Dr. Ferro years ago. Let me just say what a great doctor! He really cares about his job and he wants to make is affordable for normal people.

I am a breeder of Desert Lynx kittens. I was referred to Dr. Ferro by another breeder, who was very happy with his knowledge, professionalism and reasonable prices. My experience with Dr. Ferro has been wonderful. He has always been right on with his diagnosis' and treatment. So glad you are our Doctor! Highly recommend.

I'm only giving this review 4 stars...and they all go to Dr. Ferro. He's an outstanding doctor, not pushy, doesn't immediately run a gamut of tests, (unlike another vet in town.) He will work with you and your dog to give the best options. His staff however, as in some of the previous comments, leave something to be desired. No warm fuzzies here. They always get the job done, which is important, but so is customer service. My experiences at the clinic would be so much better if I saw a smile, or an inkling that they give a rip about our beloved animals.

I am a German Shepherd Breeder and I am very particular about the care my dogs get as well as the relationship I have with the staff. I expect great service, decent prices and good customer service. I have received all of these things and more at Barclay Hills. I recommend them to all my puppy families that are local and to fellow breeders. I have heard nothing but great things from all who have gone here as well.

It is disturbing to see the report preceding this one. It has not been my experience, nor that of the 10 other people I know who use Barclay Hills, that they mistreat animals in any way. I have been very satisfied with the services and the loving care given to all of my animals. The front desk is sometimes too busy to allow for quick bill paying and exit, but the Veterinary Services have been very good. I like that they do not push every possible medical intervention on you, but advise you what is available, what must be done and what could be done, and allow the patients family to choose...I have experienced only good reasonable care at this Clinic.

Amazing ......took my dog there for a small growth on his lip. He sedated him in office that day, took it off, sewed him up, reversed the sedation and sent him home...and the price amazing and thankfully since the dog is a therapy dog and in public a lot, he looks great. My very scared cat who hates going in the car had a benign tumor in his cheek, it kept opening up and was a mess. Took him in and saw the lady vet, she took it out and cleaned it up right then and there in front of me...the cat just sat there and did nothing, I was beyond amazed. The tumor grew back and he had to have real surgery but he was fine and it hasn't come back a year later. I have taken my animals there for all kinds of injuries, absesses and deep cuts, always get fixed up fast and no problem. Even my little dog without x rays and a million dollars in tests Dr Ferro knew what exactly was wrong with his leg...I even looked it up and asked friends he was right on. He said he doesn't need surgery right away...and he was right here he is a year later he runs and plays just fine...just can't run on cement or walk on cement as far and is getting arthritis in it...but he is on meds and soon can have the operation to fix it. If my Malamute hadn't eaten snail bait I would have had the money to fix the little dogs leg but luckily its not an emergency.

To start out with, the staff is just SOOOOOOOOOO very antisocial or they hate their job or there's something wrong with them.. they wont even greet ppl properly. Very sad cuz we liked the doc. hes just caring. he did what he had to do to help my kitty. but man, the front desk girls. geee... they make u wait, with no maneers whatsoever, talk to you and wont even look at you. just one exeption. the dark haired chick. shes cool, I talked to her on the phone n her attitude made me schedule my app. WHAT A BUMMER. I just dont like the staff.. My kitty liked the doc. and so did I. but not the staff.... Abnoxious.. that's the word.

I have used Barclay Hills for 20 years, first with my goats (he no longer works with large farm animals) and later (and currently) with my dogs. I have always been happy there. Dr. Ferro has a lot of instinct and experience. Other staff members have been there for YEARS and can handle whatever is thrown their way. At times my dogs have needed the intervention of a specialist, and Dr. Ferro has been very cooperative and helpful.

I have used Barclay Hills for quite some time now. They are awesome. There are lots of other vets closer to me, but I will drive from Portland all the way to Oregon City because I trust them with my Cane Corsos, especially my puppies. I appreciate their knowledge, common sense approach, and reasonable pricing. I have recommended this vet to other breeders and owners, and they have been pleased as well. Great work, Barclay Hills.

I have a cat, a dog and two turtles!

I love my family and I would never take them to another vet clinic.
Dr. Fero is wonderful. He has a wonder insight when it comes to pets. He feels for owners and understands the devotion of pet parents. This is the only vet clinic that I've ever been to that I didn't feel like they were just trying to get money.
For example, My darling dog Nova got into the cat food and had an allergic reaction. Nothing too bad, just itchy. I called the clinic and asked about getting some benadryl for her to help her be comfortable while the reaction worked its course. I was told that I should give her some dyphrenhydromeine. When I asked how much that would cost they told me that I could just buy it over the counter at a grocery store. Thinking back on that, I could have been easily played into buying the same thing from them at double the price and never even know it! They are honest and knowledgeable. I will never go any where else.

I own one french bulldog right now. It is the third that I have considered "mine" since we began breeding them and I have closely cared for well over 30 frenchies in the last 7 years. My dogs are all children and I give them the best care, which is why I recommend this veterinary clinic to other Frenchie owners. This vet has surgically shortened the elongated palettes of 3 frenchies under my care, including my own boy and his sister (Scout and Cotton), and also performed a crucial surgery on Scout's ingrown tail. All surgeries were of outstanding professional quality, prices were great and Dr. Ferro was readily available for all concerns or questions. I will take the hour drive to this clinic any day.

It's too bad "Anonymous" has had such a bad experience, because Barclay Hills is one of the best, most caring animal clinics I've ever visited. Everyone in the office genuinely cares about the pets that come in, and we've never had anything but first class service in the ten plus years we've been going there. Dr. Ferro doesn't specialize in any particular dog breed (although I understand he owns golden retrievers) but he does understand dogs and cats and the anxiety of the owners who bring them in. My mother in law was a "cat lady" for more than 15 years, rescuing and neutering hundreds of strays. There was no other clinic within 20 miles that she would take her precious cats to. 'Nuff said!

Dr. Ferro specializes in French bulldogs, and we've been very happy with him. His office is located a little out of the way, but with these dogs' problems, it's definitely worth the drive. Dr. Ferro knows exactly what sorts of problems to look for and lets us know what to expect; he even called us right after surgery one day because he knew we were worried parents. We've always been able to get an appointment with him the same day and have nothing but the highest recommendation for his office.
