This is THE place to go in the Oregon wine country. Make it your first stop and you probably won't leave. Instead of schlepping to 3 or 4 wineries (and risking the DUI) you can taste wine here from multiple wineries or buy a bottle from their wall of wine and sit out side on a sunny day and drink it - paired with one of their amazing cheese plates or sandwiches. Extremely knowledgeable and attentive staff.

We have been going to the Ponzi for the past 3-4 years, but unfortunately these last 2 years have been hard on the place. The final straw came last weekend with a Lunch visit.

First it was the lack luster staff, by the looks on their faces we thought maybe there were just told that the place was closing down.

Then it was the condition of floor in the dinning area! Dirty!

Then the unexciting menu followed by the unexciting food itself!

Very disappointing, and looks like a good place for Chef Ramsay to come in and get the place back in order.

If you are going to run a restaurant then run one, Ponzi has become a poor example of one, its a shame.

It will be a long time before we go back!

Pros: Nice Building, Wine is Good

Cons: Everything else

ponzi wine bar USED to be good. We USED to enjoy heading out to Dundee to have a spot of lunch with their great wine but we ventured out there just this week and it was horrible. There were crumbs and bits of paper on the floor, the hostess didn't want to be there and the food has really really gone down hill. I had pasta with cream sauce which was so diluted and runny that I would be ashamed to serve anyone else. A real disappointment as ponzi used to have great foods. We are sure not to come back.

This is where we end up after a few hours of wine tasting. We pop in here and pay a little xtra to taste some wine, but they have a great selection to pick from all over the area and more. Plus it is next door to the best place to eat South of Portland.

It was so great to find a wine bar that made every effort to make us feel important and educate us on all of their wines, Ponzi and other. The staff was fun, knowledgeable and really gave us a neat perspective on the Oregon Wine industry. They were actually willing to tell us where to go and who to see. They never talked bad about their competition. It made you feel like the Oregon wine industry was more like a family rather than a large corporation. I would highly recommend the Ponzi Wine Bar, besides, the Dundee Bistro is next door and is out of this world, some of the best Duck Confit I've had.

Conveniently located in the middle of Dundee, the Ponzi Wine Bar offers a gracious and classy oasis to visiting and local wine lovers. Airy and bright, the room is inviting and relaxed -- like a slice of Tuscany. Sample various vintages and varietals -- there's sure to be something you'll fall in love with and want to take home with you to enjoy again. We ended up buying 3 bottles to take home with us to L.A.!
