Everytime I need to run in for something, as simple as cough medicine or a prescription...the whole staff at Central Drug is helpful, and always willing to take time to assist me. It is so refreshing compared to RiteAid or Walgreens. They truly treat you as a person and not just another sale in the corporate bucket...

How nice to find a store of any type - much less a 1st rate pharmacy that makes you feel like you just walked into see the friendly pharmacist in Mayberry USA. I called them out of the blue to get just a simple syringe to inject a medication I take weekly - I had forgotten to bring one with me but had my medications. I was dreading the line of questions that would follow to screen me out as a desperate drug addict - instead I got a cheerful helpful response. When I arrived they spent a lot of time fussing to make sure I got exactly the right syringe so I wouldn't misread the dosage amount. All said and done - a whole 25 cents was charged. While I was waiting I got to observe their very kind and patient treatment of other patrons. The only thing missing from the scene was an old fashion soda fountain and then I would have sworn I had been transported back to a simpler time!

Pros: Independent family run drugstore

Cons: This is downtown so you have to walk or pay to park

....than the coportate crap-fest that is Rite Aid. I get all of prescriptions filled here. I call them in, and they're usually ready within the hour. Not as large as Rite Aid, when it comes to food/household items, but I don't use drugstores for that reason, anyway.
