I love this place! It wasn't crowded, the girls were nice and offered me a beverage while I soaked my feet in their beauiful pedicure room. I was able to enjoy my pedi in a secluded room that was very comfy!! The pedicure was the best pedi I have EVER had...and the polish lasted FOREVER!!
Pros: My polish lasted forever
Yikes...where to begin.
First of all, the prices Purple Door charge are outrageous for the services they provide. No leg massage, no cuticle trimming, just paint on the nails. 32 bucks. What? Who do you people think you are? I wouldn't mind paying $32 dollars for a no-frills pedicure at Fred Segal in Los Angeles where it's really done well, but at some little shop in Sellwood? Come on.
And that pedicure? I hate to say it, because my nail specialist was so nice, but she really did a terrible job. The polish didn't even cover the entire nail. And as soon as she was "done" I was ushered straight out the door. Every other place I've had my nails done has had offered a small area where you can sit while your polish dries. Not at Purple Door. You're in, you're out, $32 (plus tip) lighter.
It's a real shame, because this is a cute little nail shop and just a few blocks from my house, but I will never return to Purple Door and highly recommend others beware. Even if my specialist was having an off day, Purple Door's services still aren't worth the prices they're charging for them. You can find plenty of better deals elsewhere in the city.
Pros: Friendly
Cons: Exorbitant Prices, Poor
