Broadway Import Auto Service

I've had nothing but positive experiences at Broadway Imports. The quality of work has always been exceptional, their pricing is competitive with other shops (if not less!), and the location is perfect. Derek has always been honest and trustworthy, and I will continue to bring my vehicles to Broadway Imports for all their service and repair needs.

My 93 lexus (good old reliable, 140k miles) developed a slow radiator leak. Lexus dealership estimated $1400 in repairs, including replacement "plastic-components" radiator. A friend suggested I try Broadway Import - which I did and am happy to report repair was completed within 24hrs. using a "metal-components" radiator for $659. Nice guys and good service; my repair needs are going to Broadway Import in future.

I brought my Volvo into Broadway because it was the closest place I could tow it to, and boy do I regret not spending a little more on towing and taking it to a shop that specializes in Volvo's. I ended up spending the extra money I saved on towing for them to mess around trying to diagnose the problem. They told me the Electronic Control Unit in my car was bad and it would be $900 to replace it. Assuming they knew what they were talking about I went out and bought a used one for $150 since I couldn't afford to pay for a grossly over priced new part. They said they had no problem installing a used part but they wouldn't warranty it, which is totally understandable. It ends up though that the Electronic Control Unit on my car wasn't actually even bad, so now I'm out that $150 since you can't return used parts (live and learn, I guess). They also decided to replace my fuel pump relay because they did think that was broken, but even after replacing that the car didn't start. So then they figured I had a bad wire in the wiring harness, they messed around with that for a couple hours and for some reason unknown to them the car fired up again. I ended up picking up the car and paying them $180 labor and $79 for the fuel pump relay. I'm glad the car starts now and maybe it would have been worth it had they known what was actually wrong with the car rather than telling me that "maybe in messing around with it for two hours and testing different wires, a wire that wasn't making a connection is now connected or a wire that had a dirty connection got cleaned." I don't know, I'm pretty bummed because I could be stranded the next time I drive the thing and I spent a total of $548 (including the 80 tow.)

Pros: they seemed pretty friendly, convenient location

Cons: not very good with Volvo's, bad diagnoses

I recently took my Volvo for the first time to Broadway Imports and I can not say enough great things about the customer service! I was treated well and will definitely go back.

I took my car into this shop for a FULL diagnostic of my cars "health". It was an old car and I wanted to know whether it was worth saving. I paid $800.00 to replace the radiator only to have the car almost overheat (due to an EMPTY radiator) less than 2 weeks later. I brought the car back to them promptly only to have them tell me that there was a blown head gasket. To my surprise Derek (the front desk clerk) admitted that their repairs hadn't caused it to fail, that it had in fact been blown to begin with! In several conversations following that he admitted every time that it had been blown and that they missed it, however when I went to make my demands that they fix their mistakes he said that he had never told me that it was blown to begin with, and that it must have happened after they worked on it. Either way, after replacing a radiator and supposedly restoring the car to optimum operating capacity, the radiator should have never run dry causing the overheating.
Not only did they miss a HUGE problem costing me $800.00 and a car and $1,000.00 on top of that if I wanted to then fix the head gasket, on top of that he lied straight to my face (don't worry, I have a witness who recalls what he told me in the beginning), potentially ruined the engine by letting me drive it while i thought it was operating like it should be! He also tried to sell me a part that I had replaced in my car one year ago by telling me I needed a new one because it was going to go out really soon. When i pointed out that the timing belt only needs to be replaced every 60,000 miles, he pretended to not remember that he tried to get me to pay for a new one to be put in.
This garage is unqualified, unethical, and amateurs. If you want your car in worse condition than it is now by all means, this is the place for you. If you want mechanics you can trust, DON'T GO HERE!!!!!

Bob and Houston at Broadway Imports are two of the most ethical mechanics I have ever met. I've taken my cars to them for the past 10 years and have never been disappointed. This is the kind of place you can truly, honestly, sincerely TRUST.
I found out recently that Bob is going to retire and sell his shop to someone new (although the mechanics will remain the same).
I wish the old guy the happiness he deserves and will miss seeing him. I hope whoever the new owner is knows how big the shoes are he has to fill.

Brought my Rx8 in for Brakes which another "shop" said I needed. Decided to take my car instead to Broadway because of a referal from a friend. I was told by Houston after they inspected them that I did not need brakes at this time, even though he had overnighted the Pads that I requested. How refreshing to know honest mechanics still exist. I will be bringing my car in when they do need brakes or any other repair for that matter!!!

I'm not sure what this other reviewer is talking about, I've always had absolutely outstanding service from Houston and Bob. They are very good with my older Subaru and have even recommended waiting to replace some items I had brought in to fix (after they inspected said it was 'ok' not to fix yet). I think they are very honest and reliable and look forward to continuing to do business with them.

I called this company for an estimate on a car repair. I recieved a negative experience. The person I talked to on the phone was extremely rude and arrogent!! I did not go to there shop for service even though they had lower prices to offer then most other shops because they even went as far as to call me names over the phone when I explained to them that I wouldn't be bringing my car to them because of the way they treated me over the phone!!!
