What a wonderful vet! The front desk staff is friendly, even offered me a tour. I can get my dog's medication squished up into a flavored liquid, I can get my cat's records online through their website (Which was really helpful when he was

Very Caring Staff!. They were really friendly and took great care of my old fat cat. I was able to schedule an appointment that worked for my schedule so I could bring my cat in who was under the weather with a raspy rawr and not acting

I moved to the Portland area about 2 years ago and my boyfriend and I just recently bought our first puppy. The breeder did not deworm the puppy and he started showing signs that he had roundworm. We were so nervous and worried -

I have been bringing my pets to Powell Blvd. Vet Clinic for eight years and am always impressed with the care my pets receive. I've decided to share my find with you instead of keeping it a secret.

I own a business in Portland and can be difficult because I demand excellent service. I receive this every single time I walk through their door. My doctor of choice is Greg Lathrop - he is the best of the best! I trust him completely with the lives of my dogs and cats and know that they are in good hands at all times.

Pros: Doctors, staff, sparkling clinic

Cons: I moved and must drive 50 minutes to get there.

Yesterday I though my 13 year old dog was crippled by a stroke and 24 hours later she is walking and wagging her tail. Dr. Lathrop took time to explain what was happening to her and things I should do to help her now and in the future. Nothing over the top, all easy things I can easily add to her diet and tips for her immediate at home care. As I said it has been 24 hours, she is happy and walking - not walking great but she is alert and mobile. I just can't be happier. Thank you Dr Lathrop and PBVC for all of your help.

Love, love, love the Dr's and technicians at PBVC! My dog and cat have been seeing Dr. Lathop and various other Dr's there for over 10 years. The have impressed me with their concern, care and skill level and believe me with my dog it is not always easy. My dog has had every crazy ailment possible and they always make her better ! I will always be thankful for that.

Katy Felton was so nice and did extra research to help my kitty with a skin condition. They also offered different therapies and options for my animal. Staff made follow up phone calls to check up on her and most of all they really listened to my and my animals needs. I have been to 3 different vets that were very unsatisfactory. I fell I have finally found a place where I am comfortable bring my animals. THANK YOU!!
I also recently had a friend go there with a cat and she raved how they were so wonderful with her. Her Kitty had a sever condition that was terminal however she is also greatful and sang the praises of Dr. Felton as well! She was grateful for her experience there during her animals last days

We've been taking our dogs to Powell Blvd. for decades and we continue to be impressed with their caring, effective work. Greg Lathrop has long been a favorite of ours, but the other docs are great as well. People at the desk recognize us, anticipate needs, and treat us and our dogs with gentle respect. Their prices are entirely reasonable and their services comprehensive, including a real conscientious attention to dental care, which not all vets do. We've been going there long enough that two of our animals have died -- one of old-age causes and a rescue dog from an underlying condition he had before we got him -- while we've been clients. In both cases, the folks at Powell Blvd. expressed such genuine concern and sympathy for us that I felt like they were responding as friends, not just businesspeople. We unhesitatingly recommend them to anyone who wants good, solid care for their animals.

It's a shame, because Powell Blvd has some really great vets working for them. I used to highly recommend this place and was super satisfied with the service. Then one of the vets complained that my puppy was making too much noise in the waiting room and insisted that she leave. Imagine that, an animal making noise in a vet clinic! Parking is terrible with no shade anywhere, so don't bring the other pets to sit in the car while you nip in. And the prices, oh the prices! $45 for an exam is pretty steep. If it meant my animal was getting the best veterinary care in Portland, I'd pay it gladly. But I rate the care as only above average, with a premium price. They require an exam before any vaccinations, which jacks up the price still more, and recently quoted a price of over $45 for a vaccine which costs $4. One vet proceeded to vaccinate my dog with a non-essential vaccine after I clearly told her he didn't need it. The vets seem like they're listening but clearly aren't. Despite pretensions toward holistic or alternative care, they press the same crappy "prescription" food and wouldn't dream of following Dr. Dodds vaccination protocols--although think of the money they'd be raking in when you don't lump vaccines all together!
Average customer service, above average care, super mega premium price.
If you've got money to throw away and like the convenience of the location, then go for it. But if you're not looking to get ripped off, and expect value for your money, go elsewhere.
