It's a nice little bar w/ lots of beers, about 4 or so pool tables. They have bands play often and then there's a cover. Each month they have a special beer of the month (or something like that) for a decent price, I got Blue Moon and they gave me it with an orange, tasted amazing! They may have gotten a 4 from me if they weren't so Duck-oriented (Beaver fan here) and their food is a little expensive.
This is the place to get whatever your beer snob heart desires. The staff knows their beer and is glad to help you pick the perfect pint. I would recommend the spicy fries with a pint of Arrogant B.
Pros: Excellent Selection of beer & Knowledgeable staff
The building itself if just what I like. Low wood beam ceilings and a dark and cozy atomsphere, except for the pool area.
Sadly, everthing else destroys that. The ATM will charge you 3.50 even though it says 1.50. The door guy was far from cordial or nice. I had to get money for a cover charge from the ATM and the door guy sent people to check that I was getting him money...twice. And only one of the bar tenders would even ask me if I wanted anything. And they may have a lot of beers, but they were out of every Widmer ale I asked for
Overall I liked this bar. I went to it a while back with a large group for a friends birthday. Unfortunately the night we went there was a not so good band that was way to loud. We couldn't hear each other across the table and ended up texting each other on our phones. They have a good drink selection and good atmoshpere. It is crowded but not too crowded and it had a decent happy hour.
Pros: good food and drinks, atmosphere, service was good on a busy night
Cons: too loud and bad band that night
I met my husband at the Dublin 15 years ago. It's one of the places we still go to have a great time. Everyone from 21-60 can be found there having a pint and dancing. The service has been consistently great over the past 15 years and so has the music. This is a great place to take out of town guests for dancing, pool and beer.
Well done Dublin!
Pros: Atmosphere, beer, music, service
I come here every Tuesday night. I sing with the group, I have a few pints. This pub really is the culmination of fantastic. Good food, fantastic service. The bartenders are helpful and courteous, and the remainder pf the staff is ALWAYS smiling. The layout is perfect, and it really is great fun to go. Especially on Tuesdays!!!
Cons: Small bathrooms
A quick change of plans led me to Dublin Pub. After having to park in the Safeway parking lot (no biggie) I walked in the a comfy, neighborhood pub. I tried their Butte Creek Organic Ale on tap and it was great, but for my second I wanted to try something new. I went up to the bar tender and asked his advice. He brought over a couple of different shots of beer similar to the first and described to me what I was tasting. Being a girl who enjoys beer but isn't particular this was great! My friends and I spent the time catching up but I could definitely see us playing pool and throwing some darts. I would love to experience some live music there too. I will be visiting again!
I LOVE going to the Dublin Pub!!!! They have one of the best beer selections in the State. Their Happy Hour is the best I've ever seen. $2.75 micros every day from open(3PM) to 7. Free pool all day Sunday and Monday, every other day until 7PM. Did I mention their HUGE beer selection! Winter seasonal are coming in. Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm... Friendly and cool bartenders and Tasty! hamburgers and Reubens! Don't judge it by the outside appearance, go inside and be amazed! Try to spot all of the hidden leprochans in the place and get a free pint!
Pros: Enormous selection, easy access from all over Portland, great Happy Hour
Cons: Opens later in day
This was my first experience at the Dublin and quite frankly, everybody in my group will never go again. The Doorman was extremely rude and vulgar and should be fired. The drinks were ok but watered down. Save yourself the trip and go somewhere else unless you like feeling like an underappreciated customer.
The reason I head to the Dublin time and time again? The MUSIC! A great selection of local artists with room to dance is what it's all about. I'm not a big fan of the smokey haze that blankets the place, but what can I say, the music prevails. The "beers on tap" selection is great, although I have found them to be out of the featured beer on many occasions. Whatever. There's enough of a selection that I'm happy otherwise. If you're there for a particular weekend venue, get there early, as seating is limited on Fri/Sat nights. It's standing or dancing room only otherwise. My guy friends like that they can check out the pool tables instead of being of the dance floor, so I'd say there is something for everyone. The parking lot fills early, so be prepared to search for near-by options. Oh, and one last perk, the bartenders are easy on the eyes...and who really cares about waiting for your drink when you've got something nice to look at while you wait? ; )
Pros: Music Music Music and room to dance to said music
Cons: smokey, parking
This fun bar features a wide variety of beers on tap, great local music, and a packed dance floor. Don't plan on having a conversation or breathing anything but cig smoke, though.
Pros: bevy of beauties
Cons: loud, smokey
The people are happy and friendly, the beer selection is incredible, with dozens and dozens on tap(although I wish they'd get Pyramid IPA). We like playing pool here, but the big draw is live music, usually good rock and roll to dance to. Wide range of ages.
Pros: Ambience is warm.
Cons: Parking is often tight.
First, it was tough to get in. One of our group of all over 30 year olds didn't bring an ID. He hasn't been carded in a couple of years. The doorman was nice and finally let him in but it was certainly silly and awkward as we just about had to leave.
Second, as we tried to sit we were told we could sit in a certain spot as it would block a door. Nevermind that it wasn't true. Or that 2 minutes later other people sat with no trouble. Staff and manager were curt. It was definitely not Irish hospitality. Music was good. Beer selection was great. Food was ehhhh at best. Better pubs to be found all around Portland proper.
The Boy Next Door always rock fridays nights.
One Saturday this band Dr. Theopolis played. The cover was a little more than usual, but they were worth it! You have to see Dr. Theopolis. The Dublin felt like a crazy college house party.
P.S. New Big Screen TV, I watch all of the Duck games there with my friends
Pros: Hot Girls, Tons of Beers, Stiff drinks
Cons: Frat Boys
Its a bit remote and a local dive for most Hillsboro/Beaverton folks, but not a bad time with a live band on weekend nights and inexpensive drinks. Very social atmosphere and extremely casual.
Pros: Inexpensive, Drinks
Cons: Location, Cover
I love this bar because it has live music everynight & the atmosphere is great. Bartenders are super friendly & the service is on point. You can sit at the bar or at a table or get up & dance on the dance floor. Whatever you're mood....Dublin is the place to go!!!
Great brew and good looking waitresses. My buddies and I go all the time.
From the first time I went to the Dublin I loved it! Great music, FREINDLY staff!! I travel the extra miles from West Linn.
Pros: cozy fireplace seats, great specials, t.v. w/sports!
Cons: , no "stacked" drinks, frat boys
Good menu. Good beer. Good bands. Cheap cover charge. Had to ask a waiter if the area I was sitting in had someone working it.
I came here all the time this past summer because of the relaxed atmosphere. It is a great place to get hammered (even off liqs now). You can go there looking to hook up, or just sit at one of the tables, listen to good music, and b.s. with your friends.
Pros: lots of beer, good music
Cons: music can be to loud
