I live in an older house in Portland and so it was no surprise to me when my AC unit stopped working. I called Mr. Nash and hired them to install a new unit because my Uncle had just used their services a few months ago and recommended I call them. I was a little weary because I would normally shop around in a situation like this but he assured me that I would get to work with great, honest people. He was right, they worked around my schedule to come and install the new unit when I could be home to supervise. They also proved to really know what they were doing, and went above and beyond to help me with the disposal of my old unit.

My furnace was acting up and making some pretty scary noises. I was worried it was time for a new unit as this one was pretty old. When Mr. Nash showed up he did a few little things and cleaned the filters. After that he said it should be good for a few more years. It made it through last winter with no problems and works great.

However, Mr. Nash had a clever idea about how to reverse pressure the oil line and, hopefully, knock the obstructions back into the tank. And it worked! \r\n\r\nIt was a brillant deductiion and clever idea to save me a lot of headache and money. As I write this review the furance has been humming along for several weeks and my house is warm and cozy. Thank you Mr. Nash! \r\n

1. Estimate given to us at the time of inspection was different than the invoice we got when the burners were replaced. The overall invoice total was lower but considerably - that was a hint to me as to how professional they are.\n1. Andy (the tech that came in) forgot to turn on the fan on when he installed 2 burners. I called him back for something else before his van left so he came in and noticed that and fixed it. \n2. When installing the burners he advised to turn the speed of the fan to the highest because I had HD filters. I said ok. Later it turned out it is very loud when fan is on highest speed. So I called MR nash 3 times over a course of 10 days so that he calls me back on this issue. I left a messages with a woman but never got a call back. 4th time i finally got him on the phone and he said he would come in when they are in my area (because I asked him for 45 dollars instead of 90 which they charge for a call). the said they would call when they are in Tigard. 2 weeks later I call and lady tells me that they can't do that that I would need to call later to speak with the owner about this. Changing fan speed is a 2 minute job (just reconnect the right wires).\nSo very unprofessional both technically and planning-wise and customer service-wise. Briefly if you need safe and correct functioning of your furnace and do not want to speak to unprofessional staff and if you want to avoid stress I would not call this company.

Mr Nash fixed the problem however when they were done, failed to check the other gas appliances in the house - including the water heater - to make sure they were working after having to shut off gas to do repairs. \n\nTenants left for a week long vacation day after and came home to no hot water in the middle of winter because Mr Nash didn't take the extra minute and a half to check that everything was working when they left.\n\nUnfortunately after having been off for a week in the freezing cold of winter, the PR valve on the water heater broke when turned back on again. When I asked them to come out an fix, all they came up with was,\n\n""We have no way of knowing that was the situation. We didn't touch the water heater. We did not intentionally turn off the pilot light. It is not our fault."" \n\nThey also alleged that the gas plumbing to the water heater was the problem and the problem must have been a co-incidence. Yeah right.\n\nA 5 minute convo with NW Natural verified what I had suspected... that the Mr Nash repair man had been lazy - they should have done a cursory check to ensure that all other gas appliances were working when they left. It would have taken just a couple of minutes.\n\nInstead of taking even an ounce of responsibility for the problem they caused, they've responded with everything but that for their oversight... \n\nI even offered to pay for the part if they would just go over and install it. They didn't care a bit and were completely uninterested in making the situation right .\n\nI don't know who wrote their other reviews but my suspicion is that they might have been done 'in house' because my experience with all I spoke to was so shocking.\n\nMy advise is stay away from this company!

Rich, the installer, is so trustworthy and so nice that we gave him access to the house so he could do the work while we were out of town. He didn't disappoint - he did a great job and exceeded our expectations in every way. He was meticulous, thorough, explained everything about the process, and was a complete professional. Every single experience we have had with this company and every employee who works there (some of whom are part of the family) has been outstanding. They are knowledgeable, helpful, and care about the well being of their customers.
