These people are the worst kind of scum on the planet. They will EXTORT as much money out of you as possible. I recently brought in my dog with an Anal Gland issue and I told this doctor (Dr. Berry Lueck) specifically that was the issue, "no no no no, that's not the issue". After $800 dollars worth of unnecessary charges (X-rays, blood sample, stool sample, pain medications which were horse tranquilizer that could have killed my dog) the diagnosis was that he did indeed have Anal Gland. In the end, what would have been a $50 dollar trip became a $800 dollar scam.

I will be reporting these people to the Veterinary Board of Oregon.

Note: The owner of this clinic was also the Doctor extorting my money.

This vet clinic is the best, they are always there for me. They make suggestions with only my animals best interest in mind, some people might call that pushy, but I have never experienced any kind of pushiness from any of the people who work there, especially the vets. They have always been more than courteous and friendly. I wouldn't ever think of taking my animals to anyone else!! I have taken a lot of animals there and I have never had any of them come home with viruses etc, they keep their kennel areas clean and monitored. They always make sure areas of examinations are cleaned and sanitized to keep the risk of any kind of contamination from happening. I have been with this vet for many years over 15 and never been disappointed!!

I recently had to put my beloved old dog to sleep. The staff at companion pet clinic was very compassionate and made this difficult time very easy for me and my "Disco". I will certainly recommend them to my friends.

My personal experience with Companion Pet Clinic in Aloha (185th/walker road): My small dog was recently attacked by a rottweiler. He was in critical condition at the time I called the clinic and told them I was coming. They told me they close at 6PM but would wait for me. I didn't make it til 630PM. Thank goodness they were there when I arrived. They didn't make me feel uncomfortable because I made them stay late. They immediately took my dog to the back area and began treatment. I stayed up front and signed in and did paperwork. As soon as they had my dog stablized the Dr came up and let me know what was going on. He was very clear and very precise in his explanation of what needed to be done. I realized that in order to save my dog, I was going to have to go the extra mile. He had IV fluids, blood work and ICU treatment for approx 5 days. It cost me a bit, but it was VERY worth it. I can't imagine having gone anywhere else. They saved my dog's life. And I am most certain it cost less than if I had gone to another clinic. The entire staff was amazing and I could tell they genuinely cared about my pet. I would reccomend this clinic and the Drs and staff to any and all my friends. I understand that in order to get the very best for my pet I have to be willing to pay for it:) And I wouldn't have it any other way. My heart goes out to all the poor animals that have owners that say "I will do anything for my pet, whatever it costs" Until they get their bill.....then their tune changes....and they expect the vet to do everything for free....
I have a lucky dog....not only do I love him, his veterinarians and staff do too:)

I read some of the poor reviews but I decided to use this clinic since it was closest to my home. Initially I was satisfied with the level of service (I had a minor complaint after asking to see their kenneling facility and being told no - I feel more comfortable boarding my dog when I know the environment will be comfortable for her).

Recently, however, after I ran low on heart worm preventative I placed an order on-line at '1800petmeds'. I've never had an issue with this before; I've lived all over the country and have had many orders filled on-line. In this case, I was notified that the vet had declined my prescription.

Soon thereafter someone from this vet's office called to tell me that in order to use a different pharmacy I would need to go by their office, sign a waiver and pay them $10 for this "service'.

I can accept their ludicrous explanation for the waiver: they don't want me to hold them liable if the pharmacy sends the wrong prescription (I've never heard this from a Medical Doctor, and they have much more liability). What I find insulting was the insistence that I pay a $10 fee to sign that waiver. When I asked the reason for the fee I was told that's just what it would cost and if I didn't want to pay it I could find another vet.

There are a number of other vets in this area, any of which will treat you better. Go where you'll be appreciated, I know I will from now on.

I have been a professional dog groomer for 15+ years. I have had experience with all kinds of dogs, cats and their owners. After reading some of these comments I was convinced that in most cases there are two sides of a story, and only one is being told here. I personally have taken ALL my pets to the wonderful doctors and staff at this particular companion pet clinic. They have always treated all my pets and me with the utmost in care, compassion and professionalism. Dealing with the public has taught me that you can never please all people all the time. I think what people don't understand is that even a veterinarian has to make a living. He/She has bills to pay and an overhead just as every other business person in the United States does. Of course they would love to give all their services and products away at NO charge, and be just like "James Harriot"...but in all reality the world doesn't work that way. And I think that this website has done an extreme injustice to this establishment by printing these comments. The "insider pages" doesn't know the facts and doesn't research the facts. They don't cover both sides of the story. So I am here to voice the TRUTH.I will never take my pets anywhere else and I highly recommend to my clients that they take their animals there as well. They have worked on my dogs, cats, birds and rodents. All were treated in the kindest and gentlest way. And I never left the clinic without feeling grateful to the staff for the job they had done. And their prices were very competitive with other local establishments. They always offer every service to me, I might not be able to afford all that they have offered, but as a consumer I have the power to make my own decisions with the help of their competent staff. If you took your own child to a doctor and they didn't offer all possible options to save your child wouldn't you be very upset? Is it so wrong to offer all the options? Is this really high pressure sales, or is it just good practice and good veterinary medicine to be able to offer all the options? I think the educated person and the person that really cares about the quality of care they are going to get really would like to be offered all the options. If you can't afford to take care of your beloved pet, then you shouldn't really have it. Animals aren't fortunate enough to pick their people.

This clinic I have been going to for over 15 years and have found them to be very caring and understanding even in the event of an animal passing away. I know that it is heart felt by the vets and the techs there. Matter of fact that is what turned me on to this clinic. Many years ago I had taken my very sick cat to another nearby clinic and they didn't help me and charged me for the visit, I turned to CPC in Aloha and they did more tests at less than half the cost of the first one. The cat was unable to be saved the vet was very sad and I could tell he meant it. and that was my resolve for all my animals. I wouldn't take my pets to any other vet, period. There are always ways of animals contracting diseases whether in the house or out. I have had my dogs and cats in their clinic and have never brought anything home except healthy animals. I had a dog that had gotten kicked by a horse and it was closing time for the clinic and I had called them and they said they would stay open for me and waited for me to get there (which took about 40 minutes). When I arrived they all got together to help my dog with xrays and anything else the dog needed without complaining or any other negative feedback. I can not say enough great things about this clinic, again I will repeat myself, I won't take my pets to any other vet, period!!!

I took my cat to Aloha to be neutered. They seemed to do a ok job, but about 1 week and 2 days later my cat got very sick. I called and they told me that I would have to pay another office visit to be seen since it was over the 5 days after surgery.

At that point I called the CPC closest to my home (82nd Ave) and took my cat there. They suspected that it had some kind of bug, gave it meds and a water pack at no charge so it would get better. (this clinic is owned by another owner the same one that owns the Beaverton clinic) Anyway my cat was doing much better so I was ok. Then within a week, more of my cats started getting sick.

By the time of the writing I have lost 7 cats to this bug. I went to a emergency vet with one of them and they told me it was viral and very agressive and since cats under 1 year were most vunrable that I could expect to lose anything under a year. They said they could try and find it and treat it but most likely it would not be in time. They were correct as all 7 of these cats died within a 48 hour time period. My only cats to survive this were my four cats over 2 years.

When I called the clinic they said they knew nothing about a virus that my cat could have picked up while there. I find this very odd since all my cats were inside pets and the only time any of them had left the house in the last six months was for this one neuter.

Be careful, this had to be picked up from there, either from another cat or from an area that was not cleaned properly.

I took my very sick cat to see a doctor here and was told that I would need $992.00 to have her diagnosed with what was wrong, and due to not having that kind of money - My cat and I were sent home. I had no idea what I was going to do - so I called the doctor back - and he said "do your best" what kind of response is that? I was able to get help for my cat at Companion Pet Clinic in Forest Grove by one of the most amazing doctors I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Worth the drive and only $250.00. My poor rating of this doctor is due to the fact that the only thing him and his greedy office staff sees is dollar signs. When you take care of animals or people you bottom line goal should not be to fill your pocket book.

I took my dog to this clinic in January for his neutering. As the other reviews had said they tried to get you to do so many additional tests and all this stuff that was not necessary. Yesterday, I took him to the Beaverton Companion Pet Clinic off Allen and it was 10 times better. The doctor had me just watch some spots that I was concerned about and they even told me I didn't need to get him one of the shots that I thought he needed. They aren't just trying to make money, they actual will tell you what you need and should do for your pet. Go to the Beaverton one, NOT ALOHA! It's walk-in too so you don't need an appointment.

I like Campanion Pet Clinic because the prices are much lower and they seem genuinely concerned about your pet. I like the Beaverton Office better than this one but wouldn't hesitate to take my "baby" to the 185th Ave. location again.

PROS: Low prices

I've used Companion Pet Clinic for several years but have recently changed vets as I felt every time I walked into Companion for something minor, they always tried to "sell" me more. I don't appreciate pushy sales people for vets.

This is an affordable alternative for pet owners. Clinics are conveniently located and reasonably priced. You don't need to make an appointment either, it's on a walk-in basis. We've taken our dog there since we got him two years ago, and overall we're satisfied with the competent service.

PROS: No Appoinments Needed

We've used Companion for years. They were always the most competitive in pet care prices. You have to be careful though...they will try to sell you services you don't want or need. I'm overall pleased with their service though.
