Faith Baptist Church is a church that strives to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ and to proclaim the truths of the Word of God. The teaching and preaching at Faith are totally centered on God's Word and not on man's issues or ideas.

The congregation is continually encouraged to read the Word and apply it to their lives. The emphasis is on allowing the HOLY SPIRIT to work in our hearts and change our lives from the inside out. Never is there pressure or even the suggestion that WE change things in our lives to conform to any rules or regulations set forth by the church. What a joy to be personally challenged to search the Scriptures and allow the Holy Spirit to work in my life. What a joy to have my children come home from Sunday School and quote Scripture verses and tell about their Bible story. What a joy to have my children tell about how they were taught to love, honor, respect and obey God and their parents.

I have been a part of this church for 25 + years and have never found a more loving and caring church family. They go out of their way to help and encourage each other as well as those outside the church. Pastor Burman is truly a man of the Word. His desire is for people to be in the Word and to grow as the Holy Spirit works in their hearts. He and Marcy go way out of their way to help and love the people of our church as well as the community around us.

I would whole heartedly recommend this church.

I have attended Faith Baptist Church for 3 years now, and have found a loving & non-judgemental spirit. The leadership as well as the members are sweet loving people.

As to our Pastor he preaches truth, and allows for the Holy Spirit to work in people's life. He is not a man that harps on rules & regulations and he has always challenged us to search the Scriptures for ourselves and not just believe everything that is taught. He is the first one to realize that he is still learning God's word & is always willing to listen to what you have to say.

I would recommend this church!

Pastor Steve Burman, wrote his "pastor's message" in Latin on the church web site. fbcgrantspass.com At least I think it's Latin. A little odd I think.

But you can read the rest of the church web site and get a pretty good idea what the church is like. I don't know if Steve is still holding to no movies in theaters, no dancing, women wearing skirts to the knees and that sort of thing, he may have lightened up a little since splitting his old church and somehow ending up in Grants Pass.

My thoughts: He's a control freak and if you want a cult like atmosphere than go, if not than run. I would not let your kids go there either unless you want them asserting you do not know best for them but rather the church and Burman.

Read the web site and know they mean every word of it, that which can be interpreted by the reasonable man as some of it sounds a bit like double talk.

They have a nice building, some people must have really poured themselves into this church.

There isn't any deception here though, they're pretty straight forward about it, except that control part, that sort of sneaks up on you.
