Nice and beautiful apartment community. It has come a long way and it really shows that the staff cares about everyone here. Parking is adequate, but you know there is parking available even if I have to walk a little bit to my building.

DON'T live here. Everything about this place is terrible! The apartments themselves are way overpriced. Online they will show you beautiful pictures of an apartment with nice hardwood laminate flooring and gorgeous appliance. In reality, if you're like us, you'll get an old stove that looks like it came from the 80's and have to have your dryer replaced after living there for three months. Most of our outlets are broken and you can't plug anything in. As far as parking goes, if you are stupid enough to move in here, spend the extra money to get a carport because the free parking is a JOKE. We have lived here for almost a year and there are many cars that have moved the entire time! Not to mention, if you get home after 8:30pm, you can forget about getting a spot anywhere close to your apartment. And don't even get me started on the kids that live here! I have heard from many other residents about kids that egg your doors, or knock on them at odd hours of the night and run away. Thankfully this hasn't happened to us, but we get our fare share of disturbances too. They yell constantly, and think it is the most awesome thing in the world to swear. They will go to their friend's apartments and bang on their doors even if they're not home. Which, everyone in the building can hear that when they do. There is one trash receptacle for the whole place and oh my god, it is the most disgusting thing ever. And the worst part of this place is the management. One of the reasons we moved in was because it had a 24hour fitness center. Halfway through our lease they changed the hours and it's not even open 7 days a week now and we can't use it, but we still pay for it. Also, we pay a flat rate for water, sewer, and garbage. Turns out if you move in after May 2012 or if you renew your lease after May 2012, you have to share the bill with everyone else in the complex. The management is SO RUDE. One month they put a notice on our door telling us that we had to pay a $100 late fee for not turning in rent. This was in February and the letter started out saying "I know it is the beginning of summer... but rent is LATE". Um, the least they can do is proofread before they open up an old document and tape it on my door. Well, our rent was not late and I called to clear up the confusion and she calls me back not even five minutes later telling me that we underpaid. I looked at our copy of the lease and according to that, we overpaid. So when we go in to clear that up they tell us it's because they never counted for our second pet rent. So even though our lease said we had to pay a certain amount, we were told to pay more. Next month comes around and obviously we were very confused at this point as to how much to pay, and we underpaid it. Well, overpaid it. But to them, underpaid it. By A DOLLAR. And they post yet another thing on our door telling us we have to give them their dollar by the fifth or pay a $100 late fee or go to court. All over one dollar. And lastly, they do inspections ALL the time where they put a notice on your door saying that in 24 hours they are coming in your apartment and they could be there all day. I have a very shy dog and this does not work for me. I need to know exactly when they will be there so I can take my dog somewhere where if I need to be gone for the day. Once we tried to ask them if they could inspect ours before a certain time because we had to go to work and they said they would get to it when they could. They are completely unreasonable and rude here. I feel like I've written a novel about this place but that is just how strongly I feel and I know for a fact many residents feel the same way. Save yourself the money and grief and don't move here.

The grounds are unkempt and patrolled by groups of ill-behaved and neglected children. There is one dumpster for 200 plus units that is a potential health hazard. Instead of putting their trash inside of the dumpster, the tenants throw, stack, or leave it on the ground. The office staff have an attitude that suggests the were working elsewhere. While the maintenance staff are friendly enough, their work is sub-par. The units are NOISY!

Do you enjoy stepping in dog crap on a daily basis? Are you fond of parking all the way across the complex from where you live? Do you appreciate shoddy repairs and lack luster service from management? Would you like 15+ unsupervised children running around screaming directly in front of your apartment until far past 'quiet time' on a nightly basis? Would you enjoy those same 15+ children assaulting your vehicle every day with their fun filled parking lot soccer games? Do you also enjoy hearing a foul string of profanities for simply suggesting they stop damaging vehicles? Well, then Riverwood Heights is the place for you!

I was so excited to move in here, but it really didn't take long to regret the decision. The only thing that has kept me here is the fact that I can't afford the cost of moving.

Almost every night children roam the parking lot unsupervised screaming, destroying property, stealing anything they can off of the unlucky first floor patios, verbally abusing any who confront them, and generally just making life miserable for all. Don't expect the parents or management to do anything about this behavior. All complaints will promptly be ignored.

Management here is about the most god awful I have ever encountered. They will flat out lie to your face with no problems. On numerous occasions they have failed to provide notice of entering the apartment, and even notice for the lease renewal, only to swear that we must have simply 'lost' the posted notice. Once they get you to sign a lease they immediately cease to care whatsoever about your satisfaction with your home.

Repairs are never timely, and the quality is usually the bare minimum to 'fix' the problem. Parking is a nightmare, and even when you find a spot you car will more than likely get damaged while parked. In my time here my car has received 5 mysterious dents, two obviously made by cars. No notes were ever left, and no recourse for me as there is no way to prove who was responsible. Trash and feces litter the grounds. Stray cats have made the complex their hangout with nothing done to handle the situation...Which is slight amusing since the complex is now forcing us to pay a monthly 'pet rent' despite the fact that we already paid $300 per cat when we signed the lease for pet fees/deposit.

There isn't enough time in the world to list all the horrible things about this place, so save yourself some time, and just stay away.

I've been here for a couple of years now, and really like it. The people in the office are always very friendly and fun, and the maintenance team is great. It was kind of a pain when they painted, but it looks so much better and they haven't increased the rent much.

Pros: nice people, affordable rent, good service

Cons: visitor parking could be better
