Blue Chair Salon

I have had excellent cuts and color from Paul ~ but more recently I've also had a really horrible cut.
Am debating about whether to return or not at this point.
His prices are not all that competitive...and when the cuts are bad, it feels like it's worth looking around for someone that is more consistent.

If you are searching to find a salon that delivers amazing cuts and lovely color in a wonderfully welcoming environment than look no further than Blue Chair Salon. I first found Paul after reading a review on citysearch after a string of less than satisfying experiences at several salons, I did not expect a miracle, all I really wanted was for someone to engage my baby fine hair with a little creativity and to get a proper cut that worked with the texture, fine hair can be a drag. Paul gave me truly one of the best cuts I have ever had, very much in keeping with my Vidal Sasoon stylist on the east coast. Color proved to be a bit tricky with the mess that had been left behind from previous efforts, but we worked together over several visits and have finally arrived at the most luminous shade of platinum blonde, i have never left the salon without getting compliments on the street. I have been very impressed by the work of the other stylists as well, my head has been turned quite a few times by some outstanding work exiting surrounding chairs. I cannot speak highly enough of this salon, do yourself a favor and give them a shot!!!!!

I don't usually post reviews, but I just had to show some love for Paul and the Blue Chair Crew. I have bery hard to manage curly hair, and paul managed to give me the perfect cut for Oregon's rainy climate....no more frizz!! Just a beautiful layered cut that flatters my bone structure and highlights that bring out my eyes. I feel 10 years younger and 10 pounds thinner! Now THAT'S a great STYLIST!! Thanks Paul....I'll definately be back!!!

I moved here from Los Angeles three months ago and began my search for a great hairstylist and color specialist. First I tried Dosha since I used Aveeda products (23rd & Glisan)...very nice space...very pricey (I don't mind paying for a great cut and color believe me.) but the cut & color was mediocre at best.

Tried a couple of other places and nothing really made me want to be a regular client. Then I heard about Blue Chair...based on some excellent reviews I made an appt with Paul and let me tell you...all those positive reviews are absolutely true. This guy has the experience, the vision and the artistry...and I got the best cut & color ever! And I have been to some top stylists in LA...and none can touch Paul. The way he cut my hair allows me to style it in a variety of ways. He listens to the client and has a knack for making you look more glamorous than you have a right to be.

The color is rich and long lasting, and as my hair grew out over the next 4 weeks I was still able to maintain a great style until my next appointment. Check out the Blue Chair...the staff is awesome, friendly and down to earth. No pretentiousness (so not LA in that regard...) no drama. Just personable proffessionals making people happy and beautiful with their skill and vision. Paul sets the tone for the place, and everytime I step out of his place I feel younger, happier and look 100% better than when I walked in.

All in all...those great reviews seem like an understatement now.

Ward is great!!! I have recommended him to all of my friends. He takes time to listen to what you want and what styles you are drawn to. He is very talented and has a wonderful personality!!
