I worked at Savng Grace in 2006. I quit only after two weeks due to how the cats were being treated. I was the only one there taking care of all the cat kennels on the weekend. Some cats had to sit in the feces all day until I could get to them. When I complained about their treatment, I was told that most of the volunteers were on vacation and that we had to make due. I noticed that there were more employees out front dealing with adoptions then helping in back with the kennels. I have voluteered many years at animal shelters before and after this one; this one was the worse. Also, stating that they are a no kill animal shelter is a lie; a true no kill shelter will keep an animal for the rest of its life even if it cannot be adopted. They euthanized their animals after awhile when they no longer have the space. The problem doesn't just lie with them. It ultimately lies with irresponsible human beings that don't spay and neuter their pets. I hope that things have change, but I really think they do a disservice by saying they are a no kill shelter. That is a lie and they should be liable for that claim. I have volunteered at true no kill shelters. They keep their animals and care for them until they die.

The people at Saving Grace honeslty care about these animals. Whenever you have a question they are right there. They want to make sure that each and every pet finds the right home and is treated right, they never want to see an animal more than once.
4I was surprized at the level of caring at Saving Grace. The employees don't just work there they also spend time walking and playing with the animals. There is also a network of people that house animals that are too young, sick or are purebreeds. The costs are very reasonable and include $30 towards the cost of getting the animal "fixed" and the initial vet visit is free. The vet I checked with also included a bag of goodies including a free bag of food, a toy and flea medicine. These free goodies are only for pets purchased at Saving Grace.
PROS: Very clean, animals receive individual attention and exercise
CONS: Sad to see so many animals unloved and unwanted
