This is a perennially popular spot to buy music, including many offbeat and genre works that you wont find at a big box store. The owners are somewhat diffident, and my wife had a bad experience walking in one day. One of their dogs, apparently undersocialized with humans, ran out at my wife. My wife yelped in surprise and momentary fear, but instead of just securing the loose dog, the owner came out and yelled at her for scaring his animal - in front of a group of customers who had arrived a few minutes later. He began to lecture her about how to handle dogs, that she should be ashamed of being frightened, and began bragging about his experience as a breeder! My wife, who had lived with and helped train two family dogs, left feeling completely humiliated. How would you feel if you walked in an open door to a business, and were greeted by a running, barking, scared dog; then yelled at in front of a group of strangers because you overreacted? After her initial reaction, she was really upset about the owner's rudeness, not the dog. Needless to say, we would never patronize them again; we love our animals too but put them in another room when guests who are fearful or allergic enter, and make sure they are supervised or on leashes. On that day, they couldn't be bothered to consider customers in that small, simple way, or even apologize for the owner's outburst. Rarely have we met a small business owner who more clearly thinks that service and politeness is for "little people". At least they also offer deals and incentives to encourage the community to spay and neuter pets.
