We did a session when my child was 2 after multiple parks and rec classes (water was too cold). He was going underwater and swimming through hoops etc. The pool is warm so my child was willing to work at it. I pulled him out because we joined an athletic club w/ swim lessons, but my son just screamed the whole time in those lessons. Put him back at COTS when he was 3 1/2 and he had completely regressed. He wouldn't get in the water first couple of times, and then wouldn't participate much. After the first couple weeks he was doing much better because the instructor was wonderful at working with him and his needs. We are in our 3rd session and he's swimming on his own now. Amazing! The 2 instructors we've had were wonderful. I only wish I'd kept him in this school from the begining. They are great at working w/ your childs individual needs which is possible in their small classes (only 4 children per class, which a lot of the time is even smaller).

My daughter started taking swim lessons from Matthew at 3 years old. After just one semester, she was able to swim - I couldn't believe it! She started out timid and a bit anxious, but Matthew taught her to trust him and herself. Children learn how to swim to the edge ("u-turn") if they fall in the water, how to dive under the water and pick something up and how to have fun at the same time.

We are new to the school, but so far we like it. It's a little higher priced, probably because they own the pool and it's more of a private class establishment. The water is nice and warm and the instructors are great. My son got underwater in week two and our instructor was very helpful in helping me prepare him for that.

There was a problem with one of the instructors. She showed anger towards my son who is 3 years old. She disciplined the child in front of the other children. It was inappropriate. We asked to speak with the owner about this and left our number at the front desk. We never received a call back. For this reason, we have removed our son from the school effective immediately.

What is ironic was that we paid good money and they treated my child so inappropriately.
I guess they feel that since there is high demand for their classes they can get away with this.

Pros: Nice facility

Cons: Staff that does not know how to handle children
