The Greek Cuisina downtown closed but there is still one in Tualatin. It has great Greek food and a cool atmosphere. I love the Calamari and the Gyros.

My girlfriend an I went to check it out on a friday evening. I ordered the lamb and she had a greek salad. We enjoyed it and wandered upstairs after dinner to check out the night club. The Good DJ and a big dancefloor lured us in and we had a blast.

Pros: Great Food, Good Service, Fun Night Club on Friday

Recently went to Greek Cusina and thought the food was great! The lamb gyros was excellent as was the eggplant dip (baba ganouj). Unfortunately, the service was horrible and the place seemed a bit dirty. I was also pretty skeeved out by having to keep my toddler from walking on a used condom on the sidewalk as we walked up to the restaurant. Bottom line: good and authentic food, but could be cleaner and have better service.

I heard on 1190 KEX on Friday that the city finally shut the place down, how could he have dined there on Sunday.

This place is AWFUL. The food is terrible. It tasted old, overcooked, and made me sick. Not to mention paying way too much for food that I would not have given to my own dog!
I wish I could give this place a zero star rating because a one star rates them better than they deserve.
Save yourself time, money, and the likely chance of illness and go somewhere else!

What ever you do, do not let the Greek Cuisina cater your event. They will short you items that you have already paid for, treat you like garbage, and generally do a terrible job at what they call catering an event, beware!

We just hired "Greek Cuisina" to cater our formal wedding this past weekend, July 25th on Rex Hill. We spent nearly $3000 to feed 100 guests.

First off we had done the tasting and had everything chosen 6 months ago but when it came close to event time we couldn't reach the contact person and it took jumping through numerous hoops for days to get in touch with someone who could help us out. We finally were put in touch with the owner and learned that the catering planner had changed and that he would now take our order. So we are now starting over from ground zero with our entire order. (very fun when you have every thing else to worry about when your wedding is less than a month away, thanks again!)
So we make our order once again and guess what, it's about $1000 more for less food than than we were promised previously... and this guy is a real joy to talk with especially when he is yelling at you and hanging up on your call! Yes, this really happened!

So everything gets worked out and the big day comes around, it's 4:45 pm and the wedding starts in 15 minutes and guess who knocks on the door, the idiots from Greek Cuisina wanting a payment check before they can even start to set up. We had to hold the wedding so that this class act, overpriced catering service could get their stuff down to the event area and set up. How nice for our guests on a 95 degree afternoon to have to wait an extra half hour for them to set up.... later on in the evening they actually have the audacity to argue with my wife "the bride" about not busing the tables, the badly dressed owner swears up and down that they weren't supposed to bus the tables, when its right there on the printed contract "busing service for 100 people" Very frustrating....

To make a long frustrating story short, here is a list of things we got shorted on or are unhappy with. We are in the process of recouping what the charged and shorted us on, with legal action if necessary:

-there was no rice... we paid for 100+ people worth and its on the invoice..
-there should have been plenty enough flat bread for every person with some left over, "we ordered extra packs" the guests received 1small triangle piece of flat bread per salad (about enough to feed a 2 year old kid"
-there should have been plenty of hummus leftover, we ordered a gallon and each person only got a small, "very small" cup full, where is the rest of the paid for gallon... ?
-they shorted us on meat, (they were asking guests
if they could use the meat off of the appetizer kabobs to put onto flat bread for the gyros.) very odd, where did all that paid for meat go...?
-no vegetarian kabobs to be seen what so ever, they were on the invoice...?
-they showed up at 4:45, everything was suppose to be set up by 4, we had to hold the wedding for them to get there stuff to the catering area. (only 1 entrance path to the event space.)
-they argued about busing the tables and then did a poor job busing.. (my wife and then my brother ended up busing the head table which they had forgotten about)
-everyone in their group was to wear black pants and a white dress shirt, the old man (the owner) was actually wearing an old t-shirt and looked like a soup kitchen slob.
-they didn't bring there own boxes to put the few left overs there was in, so they asked for 1 gallon baggies, used a few and stole the rest of a brand new unopened box, this after we are supplying them.... go figure.
-they rudely ignored guests when comments were made about the poor busing service.
-used poor judgment on their part for only sending 3 people to cater an even of 100+ people.

Save your money and aggravation don't even think about using these Greek thieves.

Cons: unorganised, rude, non punctual, shorted paid for items

There was a stale smell in this restaurant that should have alerted me to the experience we would have at Greek Cusina..the service was amateurish. I have had much better service in a diner and better gyros from a street cart. The food was embarassingly bad. My husband had intestinal problems that I can only attribute to the food we ate at this restaurant. I was probably saved as I only ate a couple of bites of my entree. There are better places to eat in Portland than here.

Me and my partner came in for lunch with a coupon off of restaurant dot com and thought this would be a pleasant experience. The huge appetizer platter had a great presentation but the food was horrible. The sausage was tough, calamari was cold and the food got us sick. Within a few hours both of us were throwing up from both ends and called the owner the following morning who promised to reverse the charges for our meal. It's been almost three weeks and still no credit to my account. Seriously thinking about pursuing legal action. DO NOT EAT HERE.

I went to the Greek Cusina for a bachelorette party. We were on the upper floor where they supposedly give a show. When we got there, it took the waitress almost 20 minutes to finally come over from chatting with the bartender (obviously not about work) to take our drink orders.

when i finally came time to order food, we were told that we HAD to order off the full menu, and couldn't just order appetizers. we were then told we could not split plates. I have never been given so many restrictions on ordering food. After some discussion about this policy they had our waitress let me and my friend split a plate but we HAD to order an appetizer as well.

We ordered the saganaki as our appetizer. When the guy brought it out to the table he did the whole pouring the Ouzo and lighting it. When it came time to put the flame out with the lemon, he dropped it on the chair and then proceded to use it. Also, no brought us pita bread until it was cold.

When we finally started getting our food, the "show" started, which consisted of us all getting up and dancing with the owner. Most of the girls didn't get to even start eating. My plate was one of the first to arrive, as well as my friends which was the other half of mine. It was cold and the potatoes were WAY undercooked. The other people who did get to eat a little before the show also reported their food was cold. And I'm not talking about room tempurature, I'm talking about COLD! I've come to the conclusion that the reason they started the "show" when they did was to cover up this fact that all of our food was cold.

To top it all off, I had to take pitchers they provided for water to the bar to be refilled. Our waitress was overall slow and unhappy. Greek restaurant are usually full of life and all about having a good time. The Greek Cusina was none of those things. I wish that I was able to give this place no stars, but unfortunately CitySearch does not let us do that.

I can say that I will never voluntarily go back to this restaurant. If I want to enjoy good Greek food with the atmosphere to go with it I will be going to Alexis!!!

We went to the Cuisina on a Sunday night, and were one of 4 tables being served. We never got waters, we had to ask for glasses for our beers, and we also had to remind the waiter that we had ordered soup, which he delivered after the main course. The soup was lukewarm and drab compared to other Greek restaurants downtown, the Falafel tasted burned, and the Calamari dinner tasted like the heat lamp special. After we choked down our food, our waiter was no where to be found. We had to ask the waiter from another section for our tab. The table seated next to us had to ask for theirs as well, as they had been waiting longer than we had for our waiter to reappear. Aside from the bad service and highly priced, crappy food, the bathroom floor was littered with used papertowels and the toilet wouldn't flush. I don't recommend this place at all.

My Wife and I just tried the new Greek Cusina in Tualatin. It was horrible experience. We ordered calamari and kabob chicken dinners. The calamari was not fresh and it was fried way too long and it was like eating a rubber band. It was by far the worst calamari we both ever experienced, we ate a few bites and decided it wasn't worth the battle or taste. If you are going to have items on your menu, make sure the cook knows how to prepare the food correctly and make sure it's fresh. The kabobs came out and the cook said they had ran out of chicken ( what kind've greek restaruant is out of chicken kabobs at prime eating time?), so they gave us steak instead. It was cold tough and there was no taste or spice to the meat. It tasted as if it had sat out , which really scared us both, we didn't eat them because the cook said he was making a fresh batch of chicken kabobs. The rice was so unauthentic cold and also tasted as if it had sat out as well. We waited around for some fresh chicken kabobs, but the chef/ waitress forgot to serve them to us. The manager and waitresses we're all too busy chatting in the back with each other and not giving any care or concern to customers in this establishment. My pregnant wife walked out and got some fresh air while I spoke with a waitress who was apologizing our horrible dining experience. Portland/surrounding areas have so many wonderful middle eastern places to eat and the price is pretty comparable to this dive. We gave it a try and we we're sadly disappointed. It makes me so sad when Managers/owners don't care about the quality of their establishments. Food and Beverage is a competitive business. I don't foresee this restaurant being in business much longer. This the first city search review, usually if dine somewhere and it's bad I just don't go back. It's Saturday night and I felt this place was so awful I had to warn all my fellow Portland/ surrounding area neighbors and friends.

We don't go out a lot but when we have a hankering for Greek, this is the place. I see negative comments, but I must be there at the right time, because all I've experienced was great food, some good wine recommendations and good natured staff. Ted, the owner seems to have enough time to cruise through and greet diners...just like the old days, not just in Greece, but in the states, too. We've gotten away from having a restaurant owner actually walk through and ask you how your meal is. i appreciate that.
I've been upstairs, too. Oopa! Fun, ya, sorta rowdy, but as a single woman, I still never felt uncomfortable.
I think sometimes you get negative if you're looking for it. I didn't find it here. I have found it in restaurants with young owners who have $ and stuffy attitude. I'd be sad if OLCC closed them down, but sounds like they're picking on Greek Cusina. Sounds personal to me. The owner was kind enough to come to an art camp my child was attending and talk about Greece. He was gracious with the children and apparently delivered food to the staff there at a great discount. I don't know the negatives. I have just experenced the positives. Yummiest mousaka (however you spell it) and lamb dinners. Thank you for delicious nights out, Cusina!!!

I like to play this game...go eat lunch by myself when I know the random restaurant has a tv and sports are on. Its fun for me. I wondered into Greek Cusina today (Sunday) at 1245pm requiring 2 things: a gyro and a coke. Thats it simple enough. Dirty looks were exchanged due to the fact I asked for a booth, I pay for this request by being seated in the back of the restaurant by the kitchen. Three servers ask me for my drink order after I sit there for 10 minutes and still have nothing to drink I ask for the floor manager. He is able to bring my drink AND creep me out all at the same time. Taking of the order was an insane process, and after 35 min my gyro and fries arrives. 35 MINUTES!!! There is no one in the restaurant! Manager bothers me after 10 min noticing that Ive had 3 bites of my gyro. Completely dry! Horrible sauce, underdone fries, over ripe tomatos and no refills offered on the coke! All of this is going on while I am forced to listen to kitchen banter...you ever worked in a kitchen? You know what I mean. Ew and Ew! Not a recommended experience.

Can't recommend it. As a restaurant-the food is sub par: greasy chicken and dry potatoes with god-awful string beans-and served luke warm. The drinks were among the worst I've had ever-my drink was made with juice that had gone bad. If the state does pull their liquor license it would only be for the best. The greek entertainment on the "taverna" level was a joke-they don't even teach the dance steps correctly.(I'm greek) And the employees? With a few exceptions I've never seen such a bunch of derelicts and thugs.Maybe its because there is a "club" upstairs-but when I'm out for a family evening I really don't expect a security guard with neck tattoos to be ogling my daughter-yuck. Some of the employees were drunk-including the owner. Since then I've heard that the club is a hangout for east-european gangsters- I believe it.One of them probably owns it. Thumbs down on all counts.

I've been to the greek cusina a couple times and it's always been great. I've learned to definately make a reservation for the second level for a friday night. It's so fun with the greek show and belly dancer. It is always pretty busy and everyone seems to be having a great time. I love the food although it is kind of expensive.

I have to say I was a little surprised when the cocktail waitress was asked by our waiter to take over. I was a little concerned since we had such a big group. But it turned out extremely well. She was even more attentive and did a great job. Suggested great wine and when it turned into the night club was able to keep our tab open so we weren't rushed like before. Not to mention she was HOT HOT HOT!!!! Sorry I love the blondes!

So yes go there for great food, fun, music and dancing. I can't believe all the negative comments. It seems like I must have been going to a different Greek Cusina.

Pros: Hot Cocktail Waitress

Cons: A little over priced

This place has two distinct sections. The restaurant, and night club/bar. My comment pertains to the night club/bar.

Ready to let them have your full name, photo, DOB, home address, eye/hair color, height, weight and driver's license number (or SSN if your state makes SSN your DL #) or basically a copy of your driver's license to file away? I hope so, as that's a condition of entry. Go elsewhere if you aren't so thrilled about giving strangers personal information. I think it's ridiculous they want just as much information as renting a car to go into a club.

I wasn't happy with the general distrusting attitude for patrons. To get in their "security officer" will check your ID before getting inside the building, then you'll be patted down, like most other places.

You'll get to the counter where you pay your cover charge and you'll be asked for your ID again, this time, they make a copy of it with a camera, which will be archived as long as they desire. You have no control what happens to your personal information after you let them scan it.

When I asked a staff member, I'm told "the liquor board require us to do it[retain a copy of our ID]". Another employee gave "we've an agreement w/ the liquor board" as the reason. I thought it is odd that they're not requiring the same from everyone else.

So after a bit of research, their claim could not be proven.
The district inspector with the OLCC aka the "liquor board" of Oregon could not corroborate the existence of such an agreement.

diocean21 in his Aug. 07 review talks about his experience with staff member telling something less than truthful. That time, it was a staff impersonating to be the manager.

The distrusting atmosphere and these dishonest staff are questionable.

I have been to the Greek Cusina many times, and have only had one bad experience there. It was with a rude waiter, and I never encountered him before or since, so suspect he was not there long. That aside, all my meals there have been quite enjoyable, with good food, reasonable portions, a pleasant atmosphere and friendly, professional waitstaff. My food and drinks have always been delivered promptly, though I have waited as long as 25 minutes during very busy times; I have never had any problems with my order being incorrect or not fresh. I cannot speak to the authenticity of the food or the quality of their breakfasts (I'll have to try them), but I can say that it has always met or exceeded my expectations for the mid-range price, and is the reason I keep going back. That, and their wonderful dessert menu. At peak hours, particularly, the waitstaff is very attentive, and I have frequently received service from several people over the course of a meal. I have never had to wait for "my waiter" when I wanted anything, other staff are more than happy to bring whatever is needed, including the assigned waiter when an additional order is desired. To be frank, the level of service can be distracting, as staff can be a bit over-attentive, but that may just be my own preference. In the evening and on weekends, the atmosphere can get a bit rowdy, and is not necessarily the best place for a quiet conversation; lunch is much better for that.

All in all, I might have given 5 stars, were it not for that one rude waiter. I can understand the mixed reviews, as I do know others who have been less please with their visits, but I have yet to meet anyone who had the kind of bad experiences as those recounted here. It really makes me wonder if the thoroughly negative reviews are genuine, particularly given the fact that someone went through the reviews and rated nearly all the 5-star ones as "unhelpful" and the 1-stars "helpful". It is more than a little suspicious.

We went to Greek Cuisina last night with some co-workers from out of town. It was my first time there and a co-worker suggested we go. We sat down and it took almost 20 minutes for out waiter to show up. When he took our drink orders he completely skipped one person, and took another 15 minutes to show back up again with our drinks to order another one. After another 15 minutes or so he finally showed up with the final drink. The salads all *supposedly* had calamata olives, but between 6 salads we had exactly 2 measly little olives. They were out of a few of their items, and the food was very poor quality. The waiter at one point dropped a pair of tongs down one of our backs without even noticing. When we pointed it out he didn't even acknowledge it, he just grabbed them and scurried off. To make matters worse, as I was about finished with my beer I discovered a lemon seed in it. And to top it all of, my boss was up all night with abdominal pains and cannot make it in today. As I mentioned this was my first visit here and will definitely be my last. I strongly suggest anyone who is considering going here to avoid it at all costs - McDonald's would be a much better choice.

We went to the Greek Cuisina to have a nice dinner before going to a show. We got there 2 hours before the show. The service was incredibly bad. We ordered appetizers and didn't get the entire order. We orderd food and it took 45 minutes for the food to arrive! We had to ask the waitress several times to get the Pita bread that was supposed to come with the Feta Dip we ordered.
When the food finally arrived it was barely warm if not cold. My son's hamburger came completely not the way he ordered it. The burger had a cloth string hanging out of it and there was hair stuck to the bottom of the bun!
20 minutes after we ordered the waitress came out to tell my daughter that they were out of the swordfish she had requested. I should think the waitstaff is supposed to respond much more quickly than this. We were constantly running out of water as well.
It wasn't until after I spoke with the manager that anything was done to improve our experience at this establishment at all. Even then, we only had 20 minutes left before out show started so my daughter didn't get her dinner until we were literally heading for the door.
As we were getting up to leave I saw the waitress coming from the kitchen and she stopped, turned around and headed back into the kitchen. She came back out almosst instantly with my daughter's meal all boxed up and ready to go. I wonder how long the food had been sitting there waiting to get delivered to our table.
Late last night, my wife woke up from a sound sleep with stomach pains and irregulrarity and still stuck on the couch.
If you want really good Greek food and top notch service from a place that charges an aver of $19.00 a plate...look somewhere else because this place is truly not what you are looking for.

Greek has 2 levels of great dance floors, the bar service is quick, and the atmosphere is upbeat. I went to Greek on a friday night around 10pm the place was packed, the line wasn't too long and the staff was friendly. The music was good and the VIP room was nice and relaxing. I'd go there again for sure!

We had a reservation in the banquet room on a friday night. All of us had a great time, it was for a holiday work party. There was a greek guitarist, who was fantastic. The belly dancer was VERY entertaining and there was guest participation in the greek dancing and plate throwing.

The food was excellent and the service was great! I would recommend the banquet room and I am pretty sure that it turns into the nightclub at night. After we were finished with all of the greek style dancing it went to a nightclub scene about 10pm.

One happy reviewer instructs people to "...go to McDonalds for speedy food..." if they don't like waiting, oh, an hour and a half for bland food. Funny thing is, McDonalds' food is not only faster, it's 10 times BETTER than the waaaaaay overpriced 'Greek cuisine" they shovel at this place. I could make MUCH better food in my own kitchen for about $5.00 and I know NOTHING about Greek food. How can so many people give this place such a high rating? Those reviews must have all been written by the owner(s).

I had some basil chicken something or other. After being served some warm pita bread with nothing to put on it (WTF?), the food came -- about 45 minutes later. The lukewarm chicken (the pita bread was warmer) consisted of a breast and a leg. It tasted like it'd been prepared with Shake 'n' Bake, I'm not kidding. It came with maybe 6 green beans (cold) and about half a cup of orzo (also cold).

If this place is also supposed to be a nightclub maybe they should stick with that and stop serving food. The impression I got from the waitress and the grade-school-hot-lunch meal she served me is that preparing and serving food is a burden for these people, not a passion.

And did they really get the purple octopus from a used car dealer in Kansas, or is that just a rumor?

This place is a disaster area. The music is good but that isn't the only reason you go to a club or especially a restaurant.

The management is rude, including the owner, who is invariably classist. I have had the misfortune of having more than one run-in with him. The service is incredibly slow despite the fact that they were not busy. The staff is disorganized with special emphasis between the wait staff and the kitchen. I don't know what the problem seems to be in their communication path. It is a consistent pattern and has resulted in repeated frustrations for my family and I.

The food is like plating Russian Roulette. Sometimes it is good, sometimes bad. It's the luck of the draw, I guess. And it shouldn't be. When ordering the same menu item, there should be consistency. The specials are usually good. But regular menu items are very lackluster and it's almost like the cooks are bored with it so they just don't care. If I had management like that, I probably wouldn't give a rip either.

If you look and dress like you have a lot of money and could walk amongst the pages of GQ or Vogue, you should have no problems here. You will be greeted with open arms. But be prepared for the slow service and shoddy food. If you are like the rest of us who work for a living and buy things on sale, you might spend your money wisely elsewhere. There are plenty of better places to go. For Greek food, minus the drama of the Greek Cusina, try the Alexis. They are far more classy in my opinion. Less "meat market" and more restaurant. The food is FAR BETTER.

The first & only time I've been to the Greek Cuisina was a few weeks ago for a friends bachelorette party. We had so much fun! We were upstairs in the room thats meant for parties & dancing. We didn't order alot of food, just appetizers & they were great! I recommend the hummus & pita bread! I don't remember what everyone else got, but I know they liked it. We also had drinks & danced w/ their portly, Greek, employee whom made us each get up & dance w/ him. It was a blast! We were able to purchase & break plates & taught greek dances. The service was prompt, granted there weren't alot of people there, but it was good. I would recommend this place for a party or just a fun time.

After all of these bad reviews I have no idea why this place still has 4.5 stars, Citysearch? I have ben here two times, the first time the service was so so, took awhile to get anything, ordering, drinks, get the drinks, ordering food, get the food and then to get the check. What should have taken maybe an hour to an hour and a half took well over 2 hours.

I thought maybe it was just an off night so I tried it again a few months later, same exact problems, but worse. Wait staff acts like they could care less if you are there or not, and if you ask for anything it's like you are insulting the most wonderful greek place ever.

It reminds me of a particularly gross chain type restaurant, gimicky, what with the big octopus out front and 'fun' greek atmosphere, but it lacks in everything a restaurant should have to be even ok, decent food and decent service. There are other way better greek places in town, please don't waste your time here.

I've ended up at the Greek Cuisina 2 weekends in a row now for the Taverna show - both times our parties were treated horribly! The service was slow, extremely rude and anything you had to say was brushed off and you were labelled as "being difficult". Our drinks were never refilled, we were never checked on and we were overcharged for our party for the entertainment and they refused to correct the check.

Several of us saw and overheard our server standing in a corner talking to over servers complaining about several parties he was serving. Several of us have now called back complaining about the service and the way we were treated and we all have the general concensus that the management really doesn't care. Additionally, one party member had a manager argue with them about how they could have charged us more.

I'll never go back. Once is a fluke, twice in a row is a pattern of a bad and shady establishment!

I have been there before and wasn?t not sure where to place this restaurant. I liked the music but hate the customer service and the attitude from the personnel in general. However, last Thursday night went there with my husband and two friends. I was the first person from our group on the line. I guy in front of me asked me for my ID. I gave it to him. FYI, I am way over 21 years old but somehow this guy started to doubt that. He told me my ID felt funny and until that point everything went ok. Then, he quickly learned that I was a Spanish speaking person same as him. He started talking to me in Spanish although I was asking him to speak in English because of politeness to the rest of my group. He declined and was asking me personal questions that have nothing to do with checking my ID, such as: Can show you a place where we can dance?. My husband asked him what the problem was. He told him that it wasn?t my husband?s business and felt empower to start yelling at my husband, We asked the guy for the manager and he told us that the guy next to him was the manager (the next day we called and turned out that he wasn?t the restaurant manager). We asked him to call the police, at this point we were all in shock by this guy?s behavior. He refused to call the police and denied the entrance to the place. WE ARE NEVER, EVER, GOING BACK THERE. Both, my husband and I called back and spoke to the restaurant manager and he told us that the incident was reported in a different manner and that he was going to investigate it, however, there was nothing he could do about it. I am telling you, you don?t want to go there. You would never know what to expect from this people. I don?t feel safe going there and I would like others to know about it because I would feel responsible if someone else experience this kind of treatment at the Greek cuisine. Horrible, horrible experience?

Very delicious food...gyros were wonderful and the salads are great too! Moderately priced and good wine! The atmosphere is very festive and fun and even dining alone was a good time. My only complaint is that the service is consistently slow, but usually the place is packed when I'm there, so they should probably just hire some more servers. All in all, a great place to eat.

My boyfriend and I were starving so we decided to eat at the Greek. I have never ate there before, but I have partied there on the weekends... anyway. It took them 20 minutes to seat us, yet there were at least 5 open tables. Once we got seated, it took 10 minutes for our waiter to come out and greet us. He seemed very rushed, but the place was not packed what-so-ever. We ordered our food. He ordered the hummus plate with bread and a strawberry margarita and I ordered the penne pasta with a salad and a rootbeer. It took him 15 minutes to bring us our drinks, and he brought me an iced tea instead of a rootbeer. It then took him another 5 minutes to bring me my rootbeer. We waited at least 40 minutes for our food. The chicken in my pasta was way over cooked and they even forgot to bring me my salad.....we NEVER got checked on. NOBODY EVER asked us if everything was alright, or if our drinks needed to be refilled. I didn't even eat my pasta it was so gross...I complained to the manager. He said that we were his "30th complaint tonight and he was very sorry". While we were eating I saw at least 5 other people complaining about the same things we were having problems with.... A lady who was upstairs got a big cut in her arm from people upstairs who were having a bachelorette party they were throwing plates and breaking them. She had to get rushed to the ER.........I am NEVER EVER EVER going back to this place in my LIFE. I would NEVER reccomend this place to anyone!!

Pros: Decorated nicely

Cons: Bad service, slow service, awful food

.

The Greek is a touch and go restaurant. Some days the service is fantastic, and other's it's horrible. I've waited 45 minutes to have my credit card returned to me, and argued with a waitress about splitting a check. But then I've also been seated promptly, had my food and drinks within minutes and back to the office before my lunch hour was up.
I really recommend the second floor for happy hour over the lunch rush on the main floor. Happy hour most days seems to be lesser known and most times I find that we might be the only table in the area. The prices are good and the food is great. I would recommend it for lunch as well if you can't find anything better.

My husband and I went here a couple weeks ago. The service was very slow and the food was marginal at best. I felt bad because he was craving Greek food. He ordered the lamb and it was undercooked. We were sadly disappointed. We thought for the long wait for the food, it would at least be good. Even the appetizers were iffy at best.
We will not be back there anytime soon.

I was the designated driver for some of my friends one night. I spent about two hours sitting at a table and drinking a bottled water before I was approached by two "bouncers". They said the bartender had seen me smoking marijuanna (?!?) and told me to get out. It was so unbelievable!! First of all, I do not smoke cigarettes, let alone marijuanna. I had been sitting at a table right next to the dance floor, so it was fully lighted, there were no remnants of smoke in my area, and the only possible place I could have hidden something were my pant's pockets, which I emptied for them to reveal only my wallet and car keys. They said it didn't matter and that they had to follow what the bartender said. My group complained to the manager downstairs who then proceeded to write down my ID number and say I was "blacklisted"!

What a horrible experience!! The only explanation I can think of is that they were not making any money off of me as I drank my water and took up a table so they wanted me out of there. Believe me, I never will go back, even if they hadn't "blacklisted" me!!

I was expecting a real greek food but it turns out it is not the real thing. I am afraid only the names of foods are greek.

We always get to a point where we crave the Greek Cusina. For appetizer I would recommend the steak strips, they are so tender and good with the pita bread. The Greek plate is the best, you get a Gyro (lamb is so good), greek salad and spanakopita. A good consistent Greek restaurant!

I enjoy this place a lot. I really don't have much to say negative about it. First, I went here with a friend last summer. The outdoor seating is very handy and nice. There were some panhandlers outside, but it's not Cuisina's fault! The lamb and meat entrees are delicious. Everything was authentic and tasty to me. The staff there is very nice, and they won't ignore you if you sit outside! That happens at more places than not. Last time I went here was for a Greek function. It was for a work function. Happy hour was great there. The alcohol selection is perfect. For your birthday, they give you ouzo shots they pour down your throat until you say stop. Definitely something to do for someone who just turns 21!

We, my husband and two boys 16 and 13, had been down town shopping and ended up here for dinner on a Sunday night around 5. It was great. Are waiter was very tentative to our needs and it was a very nice experience for the family.

Okay, I'll admit while walking around trying to find a place to sit down, eat, and get a drink; I was drawn to the giant octopus on the building. I don't usually fall for silly gimmicks like that, but it is a giant purple octopus. - I couldn't resist - Well, first I was told to sit anywhere for happy hour. So, I sat (with my significant other) at the bar in a booth. While sitting there I notice three waitresses whispering and looking at us. I had a feeling that they were not serving this section, but wanted to see how long it was going to take for one of the waitresses to get some guts and come tell us that. Of course that didn't happen, so I asked "Should we be sitting somewhere else", the waitress gulped in fear and barely got out "yeah you have to sit upstairs". I was not annoyed with this, more entertained. So, upstairs we went. I ordered the house "margarita", it was the most disgusting drink I have ever had in my life! If you don't like black liquorish, don't get this drink! The waitress was nice enough to give me something else and remove it from my bill. My significant other ordered a beer, which was flat; he drank it anyways because he didn't know when the waitress would be back (yeah service was slow - it wasn't that busy). We then ordered some dips since the happy hour menu wasn't very vegetarian friendly. The dips were okay, the bread was okay, I have had a lot better for a lot less. The atmosphere was silly. There were a lot of silk shirt types trying to be all cool - not really my style. So, if you are looking to get a bite and a drink, don't get fooled by the big purple octopus.....just keep walking.

I went to Greek Cusina last Thursday night for a friends Bachelorette party. I see why brides would want to go here, they do make it fun for her. That's about all this place has going for it. It took at least a half hour to get our drinks, and apparently our server didn't think anyone was hungry because he didn't take our order for about an hour and half after we got there. It was after 10pm when we finally ate. The server had giving my food to someone else at the table. When I asked where it was he said " oh your friend was just trying a few bites to make sure it was good." I didn't even know the girl. You would think he would have offered to get a new one, no he didn't. The food was okay, nothing special but not bad either. The majority of the girls at this party were food servers, were usually much more understanding if the servers busy and is working his but off. However, the server we had wasn't very busy, he was just standing around, not really paying much attention. It was obvious that he really didn't care about giving us good service at all. It was almost like " I am adding an gratuity to this check anyway so why should I work to hard."

They don't separate checks for groups so know that and bring cash.
Maybe eat a snack and have a drink or two before you go with your friends. If you need another drink and your server is nowhere to be found, walk up to the bartender and order from her. She was much more helpful. Don't plan your bachelorette party here but if you are invited to one then go just remember my advice.

After trying a gyro plate at the Taste of Oregon, I had to check out the restaurant and take my husband along. The atmosphere was calm and we were able to enjoy our conversation. The food was great. The service was iffy. I do not like syrupy over cheerful servers, so I am not offended if they do not bounce over to the table, sit down and start chatting like we're old friends. But our server was borderline rude. He did answer our menu questions. He did keep our water glassed filled. He did bring our food while it was still hot. However, he made perfectly clear our substitutions for potatoes instead of salad were not welcome and he'd be very glad when everyone left and the restaurant closed for the night. If you can not let a huffy server spoil the atmosphere and food, I say go. If you are a fan of the shinny happy servers, maybe see if the do take out.

The Downtown Deli has lost its charm. When it first opened, the sandwiches were excellent, the salads average. Being a frequent customer, I have seen the consistency and quality of the food decrease. Because of heavy staff turnover and lack of training on the ingredient list in each menu item, you are lucky to receive what you actually order from their menu.

One hour and fifteen minutes wait time for an omlette? Common!!! Seemed like place was run by highschool kids...Hostess looked barely old enough for a driver's license. Our waiter went MIA after bringing us some water....May be they do better during dinner time...But I doubt it....

After our order was thrown on the floor, and reported to us of this and that it is being remade... After waiting a total of 45 minutes from ordering, and 15 minutes from the dropping episode: Our food "miraculously appeared" fixed: Fixed included scooting the food into the middle of the plates, and cold. On discussion with the manager of the evening, he reported "How do YOU want me to fix this... I can comp a few meals or I can redo the meals.. I can't comp everything. " As if we wanted our money back or we were expecting a free meal... We asked the manager to remake our meals that were cold. He reported that it was going to take 30min to redo. Somehow 10min later the food returned: scooted around in the plates, and one dish even had the same food with the same exact bite removed.

Our first time to the Greek Cusina was a wonderful surprise. It was a weeknight so the place was not too busy, always a plus. Unsure of the food we ordered some classics such as dolmas, tiropita, and pastiso. All were authentically spiced and the pastitso was nearly perfect. My Yiya would approve. The service was just enough to be attentive but not too much or little, also highly appreciated. Perhaps the only element that I was unsure about was the strangely generic "middle eastern" sound to the house music in the dining area when I would have preferred the "best of" Mikis Theodorakis. Overall a wonderful dining experience in a great window booth. Greek approved!

Considering the huge crowd and the nice menu we expected to be in for a treat. WRONG. The hummus we ordered for an appetizer was extremely bland and likely made from a powder mix. It got sent back. The wine was served warm like 10 minute old coffee. The helpful waitress let us know that red wine is supposed to be served warm. -Really? I though it was supposed to be about room temperature but what do I know.
The entrees were also very bland and way overpriced. They may use air as their main seasoning. We wound up leaving in disgust and picked up some take-out on the way home instead.
If you're lacking any tastebuds and are fine with paying $18 for bland shish kabobs then this place is for you. Otherwise stay away.

My husband went for dinner and dancing and had a great time. I'd been there once before a few years ago and always wanted to go back. I loved my food but my husband is less appriciative of "different" kind of food. He was not in to the greek cuisine but liked the pita and hummus. The bellydancer is always fun and they had a few birthdays and a bachlorette party to celebrate. When the music started we danced for hours. Food was good and although we waited a little bit for our entree we always had pita and hummus and our sides brought quickly. Our waitress always came by to check on us.
