Went here while on vacation. Good stuff. Big portions and good service. Don't expect big city great, just go with small town great.

Our hotel clerk recommended this restaurant as having the best spaghetti in town. However, both of us were very disappointed with our spaghetti. It tasted like the sauce was made with old butter. The view was great from the upstairs dining room, but I would not eat here again.

Benetti's features a nice atmosphere for patrons, split into 2 dining areas (one upstairs with a view of the bay adjacent to the restaurant, while downstairs diners are in an enclosed area with few windows) and a third, combined bar/waiting area. And you'll be glad the waiting area has that bar attached to it. The food is good and satisfying italian fare, though none of the dishes I've had over four visits were "memorable". Their Minestrone soup is flavorful and satisfying for a first course and you'll be tempted to make a meal of it and salad alone.

This restaurant is hugely popular with locals, and seating on Friday or Saturday nights can be frustrating. Reservations are accepted and recommended. Walk-ins are placed on a list at the host station. Beware though - my last visit I was 8th on the list when we walked in and told it would be a 45 minute wait, so my two companions and I found a tight corner in their crowded bar and enjoyed some Italian Margaritas. Over the next hour we appreciated the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff (partiuclarly our bartender), but when we returned to the host station to check on our seating we found we were still No. 8 on the list. No movement at all, and when questioned the host indicated people arriving with reservations receive priority even if they arrive early or late. Their best guestimate was another 30-40 minutes so we allowed them to remove our name from the list and moved down the road for a late dinner elsewhere.

I've eaten at Benetti's several times in recent years, so this experience doesn't effect my impression of their meals, although for the total dining experience I'd strongly suggest you call ahead ... and still be prepared to wait a spell on weekends. Overall the fare would be average when compared to italian restaurants in larger, metropolitan markets - but scores well for Oregon coastal towns in general and against it's Coos Bay / North Bend competition. 3-stars!

Cons: Seating delays

While driving the Costal Highway we stopped for th night in Coos Bay. We asked at the hotel where a good place to eat was. The desk clerk recommended Benetti's. I would gladly eat there again. I can see how this restaurant became the desk clerk's favorite. All parts of the meal were superb. Most of all I LOVED the soup. I recommend this place to anyone.

Yes there is a wait at Benetti's, call for reservations for groups or go early. The upstairs view is fun looking over the bay.
For Seniors the menu is plenty and reasonable. Be Careful you can get full on the great minestrone and salad and garlic bread! I love the combp plate with garlic butter sauce on the spaghetti! I recommend and don't think it is just average. Mange. yum

If you're visiting from a large town, save your dough. This is definitley a clean restaurant with nice atmosphere, but the fare is nothing to rave about. Go for a glass of wine upstairs instead - there's a very nice view. It's a bit generic in selection and could use some ideas from a more eclectic and menu-diverse Italian restaurant. There is always something to say for good old basic Italian cuisine. However, Benetti's falls short of anything else! The reason why Benetti's scores so high with the locals, is because it's the only "fancy" Italian restaurant in Coos Bay/North Bend. Young high school boys take their dates here and Prom night packs it full. As noted before, the atmosphere is nice, and that's all you're paying for.
