They recently "suspended operations" without telling us, even though we had a reservation. Showed up early on a Saturday morning, and the place was vacant. Left us without any options for boarding. If they manage to reopen, I will never

It's in bad form to write on your own business' review for the sake of raising the rating. So perhaps you aren't responsible for this particular dog's illness/injuries. What about the escaped dogs? Raise the ratings by being generous and accommodating.

I have left my dog here for daycare twice and have had an overall postiive experience. During one of the stays I was sent a video to my phone showing my dog running around. It was a pleasant suprise!

I will say though that the kennel has more odor than other kennels so expect to wash your dog immediately when you get home. Of course, mine has always been tired so its very easy.

I recently left my silky at Airpet for 5 days. I've used some other boarding services without incident but always hated having to wait until the next day to pick up my dog when my flight comes in after business hours. For that reason, I decided to try Airpet since they don't have that restriction. When my son went to pick up our Teddy about 10:00 PM, he saw a small white dog running loose in their parking lot, going from parked car to parked car like he was trying to get inside one. There were no people in the lot, just the shivering little dog. My son crouched down to call the dog over, picked him up, and took him inside Airpet. A staff member at Airpet admitted the dog was a client and apologized that my son "had to witness this unfortunate event". If this dog could escape unnoticed by staff, exactly what kind of security does Airpet Hotel really have?? And my own dog was extremely upset, crying and complaining for about an hour after we brought him home, clearly traumatized by his stay at Airpet. The staff member said Teddy seemed afraid the whole time he was there. He was never that way at other boarding facilities. If you cherish your pet, do NOT leave him in the care of Airpet Hotel. Being able to pick up your pet late at night can never be enough reason to make him miserable or put his safety at risk. Airport Hotel has extremely inadequate protective measures and basically does not seem to have enough experience to be in the business of caring for dogs in a safe and professional manner. The risk level at Airpet is not acceptable.

Pros: convenient pickup/dropoff hours

Cons: lack of supervision and very poor security

We've boarded our dog and spent over $1000 in boarding costs at Airpet over the last few years. I was upset that the last time I dropped off my dog, they had changed the payment policy without letting me know beforehand that there is now an extra charge for daycare when boarding. I understand that they need to raise their costs, but what I don't understand is why they would not tell me before I brought my dog in.
I feel like I was taken advantage of, and I won't be bringing my dog back here.

Cons: smells bad, changes policies without telling customers

We are sorry to hear that you had a bad experience at the Airpet Hotel. We will continue to refine our process so that the comfort and safety of our guests are met.

Cleaning is a constant chore at the Airpet Hotel. Our facility receives regular surprise inspections by Animal Control and we are proud to say that they consistently note that Airpet Hotel is one of the cleanest facilities around. We offer to share these reports with any of our customers.

Injuries can occur at any time when dogs are playing. Last year Airpet Hotel supervised over 25,000 dog days and again we are happy to state that we had less than a dozen minor injuries.

After several days of playing on each other, some dogs are bound to smell like other dogs. We do offer and encourage an exit bath if a clean fresh smelling dog is your desire upon your return.

Again, accept our apology and we hope that you have found a kennel more suitable to your needs.

Thank you

I dont know about other people but I had a great experience there. I had my dog there for 9 days last year and plan on boarding her there again this year. She came back exausted from playing so much. I called several times while on vacation to check on her the employee's were always so nice. They have great prices and discount for long stays. This is the ONLY place that lets you pick your dog up 24 hours a day, not make you pay an extra day if you get into town late. Its great!

My dog is the light of my life, so I am very particular where she stays. I showed up unannounced and asked if I asked if I could see the facilities, and they had no hestitation showing me around. To the person who complains about it being dirty... that's a minor issue to me. Smells don't bother the dogs. I take my dog here because of all the play time she gets. Other kennels take them out for 10-15 min of potty time twice a day and that's it. Here she gets to play with other dogs for hours. If you are worried about cuts & scratches then put your dog in a facility that lets them sit in a cage all day. It's the trade-off of letting dogs be dogs (running and playing) and will happen even in the most carefully watched situations. My dog came home with a cut (scratch?) on her cheek. Big deal. Kids come home with worse when out playing with their friends or sports. I'll take hours of play instead of sitting safe in a kennel all day any day!

I am having a hard time understanding why people are getting so mad. I take my dogs to Airpet and they are fine I mean I know my golden retriever gets into fights sometimes because he thinks he is the boss but they always tell me and let me know what is going on. I love that my dogs get the chance to play with others and are watched 24 hrs I mean accidents happen ecpecially if you know you have a rambunctious dog. Anyways I think Airpet provides great customer service and staff is knowlegable about dogs behaviors and mannerisms. I have been in there during playtime and see that they clean up after the dogs very well and also full mop the playpens when playtime is over. They said they use a cleaner made for dogs that kills off all doggies diseases and such. I think this is a great place if you want your dog to run off some energy I know they throw the ball for my crazy golden and he is alway tired when he comes home.

I wish I would have seen these reviews before I took my dog there. The place was disgusting. The office wasn't open at 7 like they said it would be...no one would answer the phone. They had me leave my dog in a kennel that had urine on the floor and the dog next to that kennel was walking around in his feces. I was appalled at how dirty the place was. My dog was also parched with thirst when I picked him up. Although I did feel that the girl there when I picked him up must have been watching "playtime" because she knew my dog's personality. That was re-assuring.

We take our pups here when we are out of town. They always come home exhausted from play time and happy to see us. The great benefits of this place are their 24/7 pick-up and the fact that they charge you by the night. Other places give you a pick-up window and then charge you an extra day if you don't make it. We have used them for years and have been quite satisfied.

Brought my Dog Yankee for a 2 day stay from 11-23 9 am to 11-26 4:30 pm. We provided a bed, food & snacks. They only asked us for was an emergency phone number. When we picked up Yankee on 11-25 his paws were red & raw and he had a rip in his eyelid and he was violently shaking through the night. We have gross pictures of his eye injury. We had to throw the bed out it smelled so badly. They claimed Yankee scratched HIMSELF!

11-26 Called the Airpet Hotel a Julie answered. She informed me that nothing was logged in regards to any fights etc but would get back to me when she checked with other staffers. I reiterated it was very serious as Yankee was now throwing up red bile and she swore she or another staff member would get back to me. Nobody got back to me all day. Calling many times without any answer until finally I got a hold of someone named Josh at 6 pm Monday 11-26 as my dog was at the Vet again bleeding from the rectum & throwing up red bile plus the eye injury. The Vet said an illness of this type takes only 2 days to manifest. They did a battery of Test & X-Rays & said he's seen this come from an unclean environment at Kennels.

Josh was sorry & forthcoming. He said Owner Geoff Wittreich a bad owner with the staff or keeping the business clean & safe for the animals. He shared many wrong things happen & they have gone through turnover because people just don't like working for him. He said not every bad thing is logged because of retribution. He had to tell me the truth even if he got fired he said.

On Deaths Door we spent over $900. Geoff said it was not policy to help with Vet bills and that he equates these things to kids falling on the school ground. We never saw or signed any policy. He had the gall to tell me "That we assume all the risk when leaving our pet in his care". He verified the facts with the Vet, asked for our bills then sent me a letter saying they would do nothing but give us our $60 back.

When we picked up Yankee on 11-25 his paws were bloody raw and he had a rip in his eyelid and he was shaking. There was a glob of puss in his eye from the injury. We have gross pictures of this. We had to throw the bed out it smelled so badly. They claimed Yankee scratched himself. That is impossible where the wound was. We called the Vet when we got home. He told us apply warm compresses and see her in the morning. Yankee was very listless and started shaking violently through the night. The whole family got no sleep. The Vet saw him in the morning to check his cornea was not scratched and luckily it was not. The Vet noticed Yankee was not himself and told us to bring him back if anything seemed wrong. His eye is still pretty bad. 11-26 Calling the Airpet Hotel someone named Julie answered. She informed me that nothing was logged in regards to any fights etc. but would get back to me when she checked with other staffers. I reiterated it was very serious as Yanke was now throwing up blood and she swore she or another staff member would get back to me. Nobody got back to me all day. By this time my dog was at the Vet again bleeding from the rectum and throwing up blood in addition to the eye injury. The Vet said a bug of this type takes only a couple days to manifest and they would have to do a battery of test and X-Rays. He also said he has seen this come from an unclean environment at Kennels. Josh was very apologetic and forthcoming. He said the Owner Geoff Wittreich was not a very good owner and was not good with the staff or keeping the business clean and safe for the animals. He also informed me his partner was trying to push him out of the business because of the way he acting towards the animals and customers. He shared with me that many wrong things happen and they have gone through staff turnover because people just don't like working for him. He said not every bad thing is written down in their logs because people are afraid of getting retribution or fired. He said he had to tell me the truth even if he got fired & was sorry. We talked twice before owner Geoff Wittreich called and informed me that no one called me because there was nothing more to add. He also informed me that they are not responsible for what happens to the animals and used an analogy of my dog??s injury being equal to a kid falling on a playground and skinning his knee. He said the school couldn??t be responsible for that. I was appalled! I told him I don't pay teachers to watch my kids on the school ground, but if a Nanny showed "Gross Negligence" in watching my kid I would have a case. He would not accept ANY responsibility for the 100's of $'s we had spent to that point & growing. He did say he would talk to the Vet the next day and get back to me. Yankee was on deaths door the next day. The doctor did not know if he would live. Our family was very upset and my wife was crying all day and missed work. When Geoff called on 11-28 having talked to the Vet and verified he was very ill told me it was not policy to help victims of his services with Vet bills. I asked him where are these policies? We read nothing of such a sort or signed anything that had any policies on them. I stated that should I not expect "reasonable care" from a professional organization. He had the gall to tell me "That we assume all the risk when leaving our pet in his care". I could not believe what I just heard and said I would be talking to a lawyer and taking other measures such as this to get my now $948 in Vet bills reimbursed. I got a form letter basically informing me that I could not prove Yankee got sick from them and they would not pay the Vet bills he asked for from me.

this place is filthy. has anyone been in the back? it stinks (way more than a kennel should) even in the front office. when i pick up my dog he has this stench of feces, urine, and dog slobber. he has never smelled that bad when i take him to other kennels. and of course your dog is going to be happy when he's picked up.. he wants to go home! employees have no experience and there are a significant amount of injuries that occur at this facility. the only good thing about this kennel is that it is close to the airport and parking... but i would rather take the time to take my dog somewhere clean and professional than to airpet hotel.

I bring my dog here all the time and he loves it. The facilities are clean and they're open 24 hours which allows me to travel frequently for business but not have to be away from my guy for any longer than needed. The manager there is really friendly and knowledgable. The best sign is that my dog is always happy to go back.

Dear JSKIM,

Again, please accept our apology for failing to notice your dog?s injury. We take the health and safety of our guests seriously; nonetheless, injuries do occur, sometimes without our knowledge. Your dog was in supervised daycare between 3:00 and 5:00 PM. After daycare, somewhere between the play area and his kennel, he sustained a cut to his chest.

We very much appreciate your business as well as your prompt and honest feedback. We strive to provide a happy, healthy, and safe environment for our guests. As you will recall, we offered to refund your $18, in addition we offered to credit you $200 toward his future stays with us ? all of which you turned down. Should you decide to leave your dog with us in the future, our offer still stands.

I know this place generally gets reasonable reviews, but I brought my dog there once and I picked her up with a gaping wound in her chest. The worst part about this business is that the employees didn't check up on her from the end of "playtime" (noon), until about 5:00pm when I picked her up. The employee who brought her to me said that he didn't know what happened to her, he "had been in the office since he had gotten to work".

Not watching a dog, after paying $18.00 is cheating their customers out of their money. To add to the employee's un-bothered attitude, the only apology, and a meak one at that, was "Oh... I'm sorry about that." There was no guilt, no sympathy, and certainly no willingness to help figure out what happened to my dog.

I would be very wary of the place.

Pros: None. My dog is safer in the car.

Cons: When something goes wrong, there's no real customer service.
