A bad experience -- spent over $300 for 10 minutes and incomplete checkup -- exam was not thorough at all - sent to overprice pharmacy down the street --

I feel that I had a very good experience at the PDC. The doctor that helped me was very nice, and the nurses were helpful. I had to wait a long time though, which is why the review is at 4 instead of 5, but that really didn't affect the overall quality of the visit. As I said before, the doctor was very helpful and it was a very good visit when everything is considered.

It was very hard to get an appoitment in the very beginning but once we got it everything went well. The doctors have a lot of knowledge and are very professional.Went there to get treated for something and didn't think it would be treated so fast.Great service and great care.

Portland Dermatology Clinic is very good and has a very friendly environment ..the staff is very nice and very helpful..we went there to show a spot on my husbands back..although we didn't get treatment on it ,they were able to help us to understand what had happened and explained the causes and reasons very well..they were not presistent that we should get it treated from them or they were not in a hurry to get things done but explained everything clamly and told us it was not to worry about and let it leave there if it was not bothering us....they did not want to get any money from our pockets and were very helpful.

The Portland Dermatology Clinic is friendly, helpful, and trustworthy. The office is clean and professional. Everything runs smoothly and they make every effort to accommodate your needs. It takes a while to get an appointment if you are a first time patient, but once you are an established patient appointments can be made on a much shorter notice. I have always received excellent service, even when their phone system crashed, they still replied to my calls promptly.

My daughter has a questionable mark on her nose that she's had since birth. We went to Portland Dermatology as a second opinion and loved the doctors there. They confirmed with the first dermatologist said, but told us they'd recommend a plastic surgeon remove it to avoid too much scaring on her face. Now that's putting the patients needs before the mighty dollar!!

I have very sensitive skin. I have seen 3 of the doctors at this practice and they have all been very helpful. They were able to immediately identify pityoriasis rosea and cure various other small skin issues. One of the best testaments I know of to their skill lies in the experience my mother had there. She had a pre-cancerous spot "removed" by Patricia Norris (another dermatologist in town). As it turns out, Patricia did not remove it all. She went to get a second opinion at Portland Dermatology and they removed the rest of it as well as scheduled multiple checkups to make sure it was all gone. These folks are more than proficient and I could possibly owe the health of my beloved mother to them. Love this place!
Pros: very experienced & knowledgeable

Portland Dermatology Clinic gets a gold star in my book and I have spent many hours in reception areas waiting to receive medical care. The staff was friendly, took time to make sure I understood the care I would be receiving. The physician I saw was friendly, warm and offered alternatives to better care for my chronic skin condition. I would highly recommend!
Pros: friendly atmoshpere
Cons: ran a little late, but staff informed me of schedule upon arrival

My wife and myself have been patients of Dr. Michael Adler for the past five years. At every visit he reviews past history and provides a detailed examination. He is very personal and professional.

I have had moderate acne for 16 years and have tried everything under the sun to clear it up. My condition has become worse over the last 2 years so I decided to see a dermatologist. I was referred to the Portland Dermatology Clinic and I was truly disappointed with my visit. After a RN took a very brief history of my skin problems, Dr. Rebecca Bremner entered the room. She spent all of 5 minutes talking to me, assuring me at first that even though my acne bothered me, other people probably couldn't even see it. What? Are you serious? Then she proceeded to tell me she was putting me on oral antibiotics and I should use a Benzoyl Peroxide face wash and Cleocin T, a topical antibiotic, all of which I have tried numerous times to no advantage. I tried to explain my poor history with antibiotics to her, but she was clearly already thinking about her next appointment. She made her escape, leaving me with a petty explanation of why Retina A would not work on my acne. She had her nurse write the prescriptions and I left the clinic $100.00 poorer and fairly upset. I had been looking forward to this appointment for almost a month, and not only am I disappointed, I feel taken advantage of. Dr. Bremner was not interested in listening to my medical history or discussing other acne treatments. I would not recommend seeking quality care from her.
Cons: Medical service

My doctor especially referred me to jetmalani and she was quite good. Her reputation exceeds the rest in that office. I have found no one better . I had a place on my face and a different dermatologist said it was "ok". I wasn't happy with that diagnosis. After about a week, I scheduled an appt with jetmalani. She wanted to remove it (and have it tested.) I'm glad she did. It turned out to be a bad place (cancerous). I wanted to write my experience -- a grateful , positive one.
Pros: great doctor
Cons: a small wait time (which may be normal in industry--but that doesn't mean i like it)

I must say that I would not describe my experience with Dr. Jetmalani and her office as positive. In fact, I have made the decision to not use her as my dermatologist any further. After battling the same very common skin condition for years, nothing she has done for me has helped. Actually things just got worse/exacerbated. She must not keep accurate records or documentation because she prescribed the same (ill-working) medication twice. That was a nice waste of money. Thanks.
When I finally found a remedy on my own via a friend, I called Dr. Jetmalani's office to request a prescription. Dr. Jetmalani's nurse (Dr. Jetmalani must be too busy to call herself) called me back and left me a message to say Dr. Jetmalani wouldn't prescribe it. Nothing else... just an oh-so-helpful "No". So, I called the office again... and again was referred to the nurse instead of the doctor and I left a message requesting an explanation as to why the doctor couldn't prescribe such a common prescription. I'm STILL waiting for a return call and answer to that question by the way... that was over a month ago.
Needless to say, I went to a new doctor who gave me the prescription right away and it's working like a charm. What a waste of all those years with Dr. Jetmalani. I've seen a couple of dermatologists before Dr. Jetmalani, but unfortunately had to switch when my insurance changed. Dr. Jetmalani has been the least attentive, least effective dermatologist of all of them.
Pros: Good location
Cons: Unhelpful, poor service

Dr Adler was friendly, yet professional and knowledgeable. Performed thorough examination of lesions and the associated biopsy was relatively painless. Sure there are a couple scars from the incisions, but having done my homework I knew what would happen before I went in. I asked questions and received clear, informed answers. I would recommend Dr Adler to anyone seeking dermatological care. Having been to other dermatologists who acted like they were doing me a favor by even being in the same room, Dr Adler was definitely a good experience.
The staff was friendly and helpful, lots of smiles and made the visit very positive. Waiting room time was longer than usual, but I plan for such things so I wasn't distressed.
Pros: Quality Care, Informative, Professional
Cons: Waiting room time. Longer than average wait to see doctor.

I'm sure some of the doctors in this clinic are great, but my experience with Dr Larsen and this clinic was, at best, unpleasant. My first visit which cost several hundred dollars, and took all of 15 minutes, consisted of a surgical excision of a carcinoma from below my eye. It will take plastic surgery to fix the scar that resulted. I was told it would heal just fine, and the doctor told me nothing about how to lessen any scarring. The second visit was equally terse, with two more gouges out of my arms. My first visit was to include an examination of all my skin for cancers and abnormalities. This examination ended up being Dr. Larsen telling me to take off my shirt and prounouncing that I was Irish and needed to watch out for skin cancers and stay out of the sun. Duh. My insurance paid much of these bills but I was still left with hundreds of dollars left to pay. After those bills were taken care of, I just received another bill from a collection agency to the tune of 450 dollars, over six months after they had already been paid. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. The nurse who assisted Dr. Larsen was charming and I hope she escapes with her reputation as a medical professional intact.
Pros: nice support staff
Cons: don't use their website to send emails. They'll never respond. Same with leaving a phone message.
