This nursery has some great roses. I have ordered from them for years and the plants have always arrived in good condition and they thrive once I plant them. They are small. It's a bit disconcerting to open up the package and find what looks like a twig in a tiny pot of soil, but that makes it easier for them to survive the stress of shipment. Once they're planted, they will grow. They have a large assortment of antiqe roses as well as newer varieties.

Several months ago, I ordered a Golden Celebration rose online from another nursery. Two weeks prior to my parent's 50th anniversary party, the other nursery called to tell me they were out of that variety. With time running short, I found Heirloom Roses online and called to see if they had a Golden Celebration rose and they did! I went to the nursery on Monday and purchased the rose. It was a start, so it had no roses on it. I asked the shopkeeper if he knew where I could purchase a cut sample of the Golden Celebration rose to give to my parents at their party and he didn't know but offered to share one rose with me to give to my parents. This meant alot to me and my parents will be thrilled. I will be back for more roses! The customer service here is top notch!

I had heard about Heirloom Roses from family and friends for years, but it seemed to take forever for me to get there! WOW!! First of all it's outside of Newberg near Champoeg Park and St. Paul, there are lots of signs so it's very easy to find...and when you're nearby you'll know by the rows upon rows of beautiful roses growing along the road! Heirlooms has exquisite rose gardens you can meander through (take your time and really enjoy it!), then you can move on the picking out which kind of rose(s) you would prefer...the employees there are very helpful and knowledgeable and will answer any questions you may have regarding growing or disease resistance or whatever. Heirloom roses also has an incredible catalog and website, so try and review those before you go! They are well known around the world in the Rose community and it shows!! Prices may seem a little high when compared to Lowes or other plant sale stores, but if you know "non-grafted" roses and Old English roses, then you know that you are absolutely getting your money's worth!!

PROS: Exquisite roses, very knowledgeable employees
CONS: Prices may seem a little high, but they are worth it in quality!!

This is a unique place to experience the "own root rose". I have purchased dozens of varieties of this kind of rose from them. The staff are extremely knowledgeable about rose growing, and will help you select the perfect variety to suit your locale. The nursery is huge, with gorgeous roses planted in separate areas to wander through, as if in an Engish estate. The gift shop carries lovely objects to enjoy during the winter months. Set aside time to simply take it all in.

Looking for those old fashioned cabbage type roses? This is the place! Although smaller specimens than I was used to, they explained that they are not gratfted roses so give them a year and then decide. A year later I have beautiful, full size rose bushes. Great catalog and website, and the staff will help you decide if needed. The website lets you sort by color, type, etc.
