I love the atmosphere. I love the food. They have vegetarian and vegan options. And their garlic cream cheese spread is to die for! Good prices too. Love the decor. Free WiFi too.

I've been going to Coffee House Cafe for years. It's a great place to meet friends and talk. The style is retro, the coffee is good, service is wonderful, food choices are often vegetarian, which is hard to get in Salem.

The Coffee House Cafe is a big, airy space on the busiest street in downtown Salem, and is perhaps the major hub of the city's music and arts scene. It's not a place to sit down and read the morning paper, perhaps, but the edgy atmosphere makes it a primo mid-afternoon/evening people-watching hotspot. Try not to let the redundant name fool you-- There's more than just coffee. It features the token grab-bag of local pastries and cakes, with even a few vegan options mixed in. Drink options include the standard cafe fare and a few surprises (cold-brewed coffee, anyone?) to keep things interesting.

The Coffee House Cafe hasn't always been the best cafe in town-- Once upon a time, the venerable Dragonfly Coffee Company took that honor. Sadly, the Dragonfly is no longer with us. Instead, we have the Coffee House-- A place that could be genuinely excellent if it tried a little harder, but is still above average.

i love the atmosphere of this place. it is very casual and down to earth. their coffe is good and their food is quite good. they serve a lot of vegetarian food and deserts that are yummy. they always have music playing and even have live music at times. the people that work there are kind and give good service. i have never felt presured to be in a hurry when i am there. people just go and hang out and enjoy.
