I have attended this church for 2 years with my spouse and two young children. We have found it to be a welcoming, uplifting, and comfortable place to grow in our relationship with Jesus and build friendships in our community. The church is well organized and I disagree with other comments that the pastors are somehow false or inadequate. Pastor Frank is a great teacher and I always come away from his message with new knowledge and encouragement.

People at this church are more concerned with what their wearing than worshiping God. Cliques galore. I'm concerned with the pastors (gosh how many are there) dedication to God, or how many campuses can we produce.

It was December 2008 when I called to God for help... He listened! I had no expectations. All I knew for sure was that I was being saved by God. I happened to have a connection to this church through my brother and his wife. Immediately I felt an overwhelming connection to God. This is a true place of worship, fellowship and ministry. Jesus saved my life and he brought me to City Bible Church to do it. It will always be my home. The pastors and the congregating are all welcoming and ready to help those who are looking to secure a relationship with the Lord. I encourage anyone who needs a church to call home to come and see for yourself.

I attend City Bible Church's 217 Campus, also known as the West Campus. I absolutely love the heartfelt worship in our small church building. If you want to raise our hands, sing your own lead vocals from your seat--which I do every service--and cry out praise to the Lord, then come experience CBC's 217 campus. You will get a powerful, yet intimate church experience with a caring, prayerful congregation.

Attending small groups are vital to feeling fully connected. I give and receive constant encouragement from sixteen other people in our small group. We meet every two weeks for a Bible study, prayer time and, of course, a wonderful meal. We also stay in touch over email several times a week. I love my CBC congregation and my small group family. But most importantly, I love being apart of the larger body of Believers in Christ and receiving the AMAZING inheritance of etertal life.

Churches in general have good intentions but I would definitely recommend each person to know what you believe if you are 'church shopping.' I have found that this church (possibly just some pastors) believe that they are the "City on a hill" so to speak and feel they are supreme over others. Worship is alright but I am not sure how genuine certain pastors are. High school group music is great but too much a feeling of a meat market to me.

PROS: Good music
CONS:

If I lived in Portland, I wouldn't consider going anywhere else. This is a church that's thriving and growing in numbers but also in depth and passion in worship.

If you're 14-25, you especially need to check this place out. I've never met so many cool people that are excited about their faith in Jesus!

If you visit, tell them that Chris, a.k.a "That Guy From Los Angeles That Does The Videos" sent you. =)
