I have not seen anything quite like this salesman...Actually my boyfriend suppossedly won the alarm system in a contest a year ago...The lousy secretary on the other end of the phone was forgetful and flighty..She made it sound so great the $1100 dollar alarm system that He supposedly one was all free nothing out of pocket and they would come in and install it no charge we just had to pay the monthly service fee..Ok we thought we could use the extra comfort and security it would bring..So we set the appointment for the installer to come out ..Well He never showed...We get a call the next day from the ditzy secretary or whatever she was saying she was so humble right now...There installer who is also the salesman could not make it..she was very sorry and rescheduled ..Ok we thought it happens...So the next appointment day arrives and my boyfriend again has to take off work cuz he had to be there they said cuz He is the homeowner...whatever...Anyways an hour after he was suppossed to be here His supervisor calls and says He will be there in like 2 hours or so..Or so!!! Good lord I have now spent two whole days waiting for this guy as the supervisor is telling me he is sorry about this but he had to let one of their employees go because he wasn't spot security material..How quaint a boss who tells His customers about His no good employees..Anyways the installer shows up but he has no sysyem just a bunch of paperwork and of course wants money then He can come back the next afternoon and install the system....Ok we give Him the check postdated of course...He says His paperwork won't go in till tuesday and we have three days to change our minds...Well lo and behold the nest day arrives as does the installation time and guess what? He dosen't show as if that was gonna be a surprise..So as of today the third and last day we had to change our minds, there is now a stop pay on the check for the so called free alarm sysytem which was gonna cost us almost 200 outta pocket for the installation and first months use..so much for winning with no attachment...This company has a very lousy customer service policy and there employees are very shody, fast talking lazy money hungry scam artists...DO NOT SHOP HERE...

over the past several years of owning my own home, I have beencontacted by several security companies i.e. ADT, BRINKS, Protection one just to name a few.. A few months ago i was contacted by Spot Security, at our first meeting they sent out oneof their consultants, and to my pleasant surprise he was knowledgeable, courteous and above all really was concerned about designing a security system that would protect my family and home..He just was not a salesmen, like those other companies, his main goal was to talk to me,not at me....about how he and Spot couldbest protect our family--- He provided us great costumer care and i would recommend this company to any one...so far I have recommended this company to three of my neighbors who after meeting with one of their cosultants have also gone with spot as their
security provider..so far all are happy with their new systems , but most of all they feel safe in their homes..just as i do...

This company called us several times even though we are on the Do Not Call list, asking us to let them do a presentation of their home security system. My husband agreed after the third or fourth call, and I spoke directly with one of their sales people by telephone to confirm the appointment. After clearing the morning for the appointment, the sales person who showed up refused to do the demonstration because my husband was not home. The sales person said he would be fired if he did so. After wasting the morning waiting for this person, I was very insulted that, in this day and age, a company would be so sexist as to refuse to promote a product to a woman without her husband present - particularly when no one ever mentioned to me or my husband during the numerous telephone calls that this would be the case! I called and left a voicemail complaining about this policy to the sales manager at their Portland headquarters, Joe. The sales manager called me back and left an incredibly rude message claiming that (even though he acknowledged calling "five or six times") he had not had sufficient time by telephone to let me know this in advance and that it was all "our fault" for "rushing" him off the telephone. Let me tell you, I actually had to get off another call to complete scheduling this appointment. I could not believe this person did not have the decency to be polite and give me an apology. The tone was nasty and condescending throughout. It was the rudest, not to mention incredibly inaccurate, message I have ever received from a customer service representative, and if this is the management running the company, I can only imagine how they'd react if we had a real problem.

Beyond that, I have real suspicions about this company's credibility and resources. The sales person they sent gave me a business card with a completely different company's name on it and it was one of the free business cards from VistaPrint. Spot Security apparently provided so little to its sales people that someone had not even bothered to pay the extra $2 to have the VistaPrint logo removed from the back. The website appears to be nothing more than a solicitation for more telemarketers and salespersons. It's not evident that these people have any training or that they'd be able to respond credibly in the case of an emergency. I also did a quick google search on the company, and they have been fined by the Oregon Department of Labor before for failing to comply with wage paperwork requirements. When they were called to task, the company did not even bother to show up at the hearing. Again, more signs of a fly by night company that does not stand behind its products and services.

I have had home security systems installed before with the likes of ADT and Bay Alarm, and I would never do business with this company. Not only were they incredibly unprofessional, but their telemarketing and fly by night business practices make me wonder how reliable they would be if you needed the police there or a piece of equipment broke. The cost of security systems through ADT, Brinks, etc. is not very much ($100). It wouldn't be worth it to me to save on that and have these clowns as my emergency backup. Do yourself a favor and schedule an appointment with a REAL security company.

I have been receiving call after call from sales representatives at Spot Security. It seems that when you tell them to not call you, and that you are on the federal no call list, it provokes them to call again. In my research, I found that Spot Security Incorporated of Portland, Oregon has been fined by the State of Oregon Attorney General's office for similar complaints.
