I have never written a review for a management company before, however I feel I need to warn people about this company. I rented at 819 NW 23rd ave apartments for one year. The problem came with move out. They gave me a long list of things

Upper management is pretty unjustifiably arrogant, rude, disrespectful to their tenants, and have a terrible business model. Most of their buildings are out of date, unisulated, and receive nothing more then a slathering of cliche home

I live at Trinity Place and the Walls are paper thin. You have neighbors that constantly play the guitar and sing, or stomp around all night above you. We have talk with apartment manager several times and he doesn't seem to care sine it

I live in one of KBC's buildings in downtown PDX. I've spotted roaches 5 times since I moved in. Not that great of a place to live, yet the rent and the hassle makes it seem like this place is super-exclusive. Don't bother.

I find it odd to read such harsh reviews of this company. Having lived in one of their buildings for the past three years, I've never had one complaint. They seem to fix things when the break. My manager has been friendly, quick and helpful. I'm staying put until I buy a house.

Pros: Lovely, clean buildings. Friendly, attentive managers

Terrible place. They blow through building managers because the owner and upper management are terrible. In three years my building had six different building managers, all of them terrific and hard working.

Also, the buildings are expensive, mine was moldy, in at least half of the units, and did I mention that the management sucks. Steer clear!!

KBC has acquired some great architectural buildings, but they don't know how to treat the people that reside inside the buildings. They basically in my definition are slum lords. They have high prices for a small amount of Square Footage, no amenities, Lots of Mold( so don't have anything valuable), Maintenance will happen eventually, but it takes time. Did I mention MOLD. The walls start to bubble up and then there are mold pockets and guess what they can't repair it for awhile and you are paying $1000. Don't live there they are awful. Your basically a number, so don't waste your money.

My experience dealing with these jokers has been nothing short of awefull, Outside of having a very hard working, genuine landlord. At $1000 for 650' you might expect a little more from the people taking that money. I had a simple repair that could not seem to just be dealt with. I couldn't even get a call back for a "effing" emergency. These people ought to be ashamed of themselves. I'd give more details about the situation but unfortanatley I got almost a whole year left dealing with these turkeys. What tops it of is I know the poor guy that does all the dirty work for them is not compensated well, at all.
Bottom line; DON'T give these guys your business.

And I received no kind of compensation, nor did anyone else in the apartment building. I wouldn't complain had I not been paying a grand a month to live there. You could find nicer people and a nicer place for less elsewhere. Do your research before signing a lease here. My bike was also stolen out of the secure, locked garage, which was rather sketchy.
